On this private day trip from Barcelona, you will visit the city of Girona in northeastern Catalonia before continuing to the Costa Brava, the coastal region of Catalonia that stretches up to the French border. You’ll stop at Santuari dels Angels to take pictures from a stunning viewpoint on your way to the town of Pals, where you'll enjoy a lunch of delicious Mediterranean food (own expense).

As you leave Barcelona, your private day trip heads first to Girona, a city with a long history, believed to be founded around 76 BC. The river Onyar neatly divides the city in two, separating the old town from the new. The city has a rich architectural heritage, and you’ll see evidence of this in the 11th-century cathedral and the Roman walls, which you can stroll along. Or wander the narrow streets of the old town, soaking up the historical atmosphere.

From Girona, continue to the Santuari dels Angels, a panoramic spot offering scenic views of the whole Girona region. It’s a place even a world-famous artist thought was beautiful – Salvador Dali chose it for his wedding. From here you will make your way to Pals, a small medieval city built around its fortress. Stop here for a Mediterranean lunch (own expense) before you head to the fishing village of Calella de Palafrugell.

In Calella de Palafrugell, a coastal town of whitewashed houses, you'll have time to explore the rocky coastline or perhaps take a dip in the inviting waters.

Girona is a great medieval town with a lot of history. Very picturesque. Costa Brava was beautiful and we had a wonderful lunch right on the beach and a chance to enjoy a swim for quite awhile afterwards. Overall a VERY pleasant day and our entire group loved it. Lots of walking involved, but if you're OK with that, I would highly recommend this tour.

This was our favorite trip from Barcelona. Our tour guide, Feliciano, was absolutely fantastic! The locations were spectacular and we had just the right amount of free time in Girona and at the beach. Short stop Pals was beautiful. We are so pleased that we chose this trip. Highly recommend!

This private tour was an enjoyable day excursion from Barcelona. Our guide was friendly and amiable. Unfortunately, Girona was crawling with tourists visiting the annual flower festival. That curtailed our ability to explore the medeival old city and multiple museums. We would return again. The Costa Brava part of the tour added a quaintness of seaside resort towns before the season.

Wonderful tour. All the stops were worthwhile. Our guide, Feliciano was excellent. He took us to a fine beachfront restaurant Les Voltes for a splendid seafood lunch. Don't miss this trip.

What a great day! I confirmed with the company before we left for Spain and again the day prior, just to be sure...I didn't need to worry. They knew! Our driver picked us up at our apartment, told us what the itinerary was and we headed out. Our driver/guide was very friendly and informative. It was nice that we could dictate how long we spent at a particular place. So that when we had enough in one location, he would be able to move on to the next. Wish we would have spent more time at the beach, which was our last stop--but that was only because we didn't know how long everything else would take. If you want more beach time, cut down the time at GIrona. The stop at Pals was much more interesting anyway. Next time would just do Pals and the Coast. Although there was nothing wrong with the whole day! Just our personal preference. There was plenty of opportunities to sit for refreshment every step of the way. The guide never rushed us and kept asking what we wanted to do. I highly recommend this trip!
