Start your full day trip being pick up at Central Barcelona in a comfortable bus with guide on board. Your first destination is Girona, you will visit one of the most biggest city north of Barcelona. Discover this medieval city that has one of the best preserved Jewish quarters in Europe. You will experience the history of Girona on its small streets of the old city center. Walk around this streets with full explanations and visit the exterior of the Cathedral in the old city center to learn about its artistic heritage. The guide will lead you through these street towards the famous pastel coloured houses at the edge of the river bank to admire this beautiful sight. Enjoy free time to explore the city by your own.At the appointed time, come back to Barcelona city center and free time to have lunch (not included).
The second part of this tour starts at 3pm, take the bus and relax enjoying the views on the way to Montserrat. The rocks of Montserrat were formed by natural cement of sand during the centuries. The wind and rain shaped the mountain with strange and varied forms. You will go up to Montserrat with the Cog – Wheel Train, which leaves you in the middle of the Monastery. It is a 15-minute trip with a privileged and spectacular view of the mountain. The train has panoramic windows which make the actual journey an interesting attraction. The train is air-conditioned and they are completely wheelchair-friendly. You will visit the Royal Basilica of Montserrat, which holds the famous 12th century Romanesque carving of Verge Moreneta (the Black Madonna) and you will be able to see this famous statue from a distance. After this, enjoy of free time to visit audiovisual exhibition about the history and creation of Montserrat and taste typical liquors of Montserrat, handmade by the monks of the monastery.
Tour guide for Girona was rude, and not interesting. Montserrat tour guide was thankfully much better. But ultimately we did not like our experience with Julia Travels.

This was a terrific tour as our guide knew so many details about both of these sites. I am a Game of Thrones fan and our guide pointed out several areas in Girona where filming for the series took place. Montserrat is a tour unto itself as we were in awe of the beautiful monestary and the Madonna inside. This was a truly great tour and I would recommend that people go to both of these sites.

Poor tour guides who spent little time with the group as well as showed little interest. It is basically an independent tour that provides the transport. You could do better arranging transport on your own and relying on Wikipedia or a tour guide.

Excellent well informed guides for both parts of the trip - would have like a bit more time to further explore Girona eg time to explore the Cathedral interior - only really had time to hve a cup of coffee and explore a small portion of the wall - the day we went the place was swamped with children doing art work in various parts of this beautiful city so in some locations moving about was a bit difficult although seeing the art being produced in some ways added to the experience. Montserrat was awe inspiring despite the rainy weather and low cloud and enjoyed the cog train ride up.
