Embark on a touristic visit to the market, La Boqueria and enjoy a practical cooking class led by a professional chef and enjoy a tasting menu of 12 dishes in a private lounge.
Enjoy a dynamic, interactive, and fun tapas workshop. It begins with a stroll through La Boqueria, one of the most important markets in Spain, including an explanation of the history of the area where it is located, in the old town. Follow-up your visit with a practical cooking class featuring typical Spanish recipes and the explanation of the history of tapas in Spain. It ends with a tasty cuisine of local dishes accompanied by the finest wines, all served by waiters in a private lounge.
Sample Menu: Seafood Paella, Spanish omelette, potatoes "Bravas" with three sauces, assorted Iberian cold cuts, Andalusian fish, Garlic prawns traditional, Traditional croquettes, Manchego cheese, Cantabrian anchovies, Mussels with Salsa, Octopus “feira” and Catalan cream. Accompanied by fine wine with denomination of origin, mineral water, beer or cola.
Sample Recipes Made by Participants: Seafood Paella, Spanish omelette and Mussels with Salsa and Catalan Cream.
This was a terrific tour from start to end. From walkingthrough the market and buying some of the ingredients for the meal we were to cook, to meeting our guide and chef, cooking up a great meal and enjoying it with the other guest. A small group of six allowed us all to participate. I was traveling with my 18 year old grandson and he is now an expert at making Catalan cream dessert.

We loved this class. There were just 5 of us and we got personal attention with great host and hostess. Educational and entertaining. You can be a hands on or hands off as you would like. Plenty of opportunity to move around and try all the dishes. While the class states 4 hours, plan on up to 5 hours. You will leave with full tummies and full of great memories.

I can't believe that we have not reviewed this trip. If you like cooking, this is fantastic. To learn to cook tortilla the truly Barcelona way there are several regional methods I now know!. A market is a market is a market, nothing new here, but the cookery, just my wife and me with the chef and the guide was superb! A couple of hours of great fun and knowledge.

We just returned from an amazing family vacation in Barcelona and one of the top highlights for our family, even for our teenage daughter and son, was the Tour of the Boqueria Market and Cooking Class. I cannot say enough positive things about this experience. The class is conducted in an amazing apartment overlooking the Placa Real in Barcelona. The room is very tastefully décorated and the view from the apartment onto the Placa is very picturesque. You get a real flavor for the activity in the town from this vantage point. Before we began to cook, Janella, Chef Alfredos assistant, gave us a tour of the Boqueria Market. This was very helpful, as the market can be a little overwhelming. As she guided us through the market, Janella taught us about some of the local food that Spain is known for such as the jambon, cheese, and turron. After the market tour, we returned to the apartment and began our class with Chef Alfredo. The participants consisted of our family and a lovely Canadian couple. Chef Alfredo was extremely friendly, funny and professional. He is a talented chef and taught us so much about the local cuisine and culture. We tasted delicious tapas first and then made paella, tortilla de papas, and a Catalan Crème for dessert. During the class we received hands on experience cooking the various dishes along with Chef. Janella served as a wonderful interpreter for Chef. After preparing the meal, we ate together in the dining room. It was an unbelievably fun experience that I would highly recommend.
