It was wonderful experience. Worth every penny. The Chef and his assistant were very warming and taught us the way they cook the Mediterranean way. The wine was good, the food we cooked was great, and way too much for us too eat.

If you are looking for a cooking class, this is the one to choose! The entire class from start to finish was full of good conversation, socializing over good wine and of course leaning to cook several authentic Spanish dishes. I am so happy I picked this class. They also send you the recipes to you via email after the class so you can re-create the creations at home. So happy with this tour.

The class was small 7, the chef Janellaexcellent, the food and wine wonderful which equals an exceptional experience. The location was just off La Rambla in a 3rd floor walk-up flat overlooking the Plaza Reial. I highly recommend this cooking class we cooked, ate and drank excellent wine for over 2 hours. The seafood Paella was overflowing with squid, mussels, clams and scampi, the Tapas and dessert were delicious, too! Don't miss out on cooking in Barcelona and ask for Chef Janella!

One of the experiences that I tell about when describing our wonderful Barcelona trip. The chef and his interpreter were very friendly entertaining. The food was fabulous. The environment was a taste of living in Barcelona. Highly recommend! Only downside--too much food to eat!

This was an excellent way to spend the morning and early afternoon. It is a bit difficult to find the starting point, but worth it. We had a tour with explanations of the market. The information was helpful. We walked back to the place where we had the cooking class. It was very very nice and comfortable. The chef had prepared a variety of tapas and there was as much wine as you cared to drink. They explained about all the different tapas and we tasted all of them. They even had a few extra if you were interested in another taste. The chef was fantastic. He didn't speak much english but there was an interpreter. If you didn't want to cook, you could just watch. If you wanted to cook you could. At our class we made seafood paella, potato omelet, and a creme type desert. It was amazing. After cooking we sat at a big dining table that was beautifully set and had lunch. We ate what we cooked and the chef had cooked some of it also since alot of people just wanted to watch instead of cook. There was plenty of wine and we ended with desert and coffee. It was such a nice day. I highly highly recommend this class. It was such fun.

The class was AMAZING. We had a wonderful time and learned so much with respect to the traditions, various 'communities' and local ingredients. If I could give this class more stars, I WOULD!! Treat yourself to a great experience you will not be disappointed.

Outstanding!!!! I highly recommend this. Our guide in the market and during the class was wonderful and I can't say enough good things about her and the chef - his menu, his instructions, his preparations and wonderful personalities .

This was the highlight of the entire Barcelona experience!!! Alfredo was exceptional! His cooking studio is simply lovely---it overlooks a square, is tastefully decorated and the perfect setting. On to the class...we had a food tour of appetizers before we began. Alfredo used food to introduce us to his wonderful country. We then began making paella and risotto. Both were wonderful! He served plenty of wine, kept us interested with his stories nd taught us useful techniques. It was simply wonderful!

The cooking class was fantastic. We started out with tapas from all over Spain and each dish came with a story by the chef about where the dish came from, and the culture of the region. Next we made Catalan cream, tortilla espana, and seafood paella. Learning the techniques was awesome, as was the unlimited wine :. The chef even took time to help teach my 9 year old daughter. Afterwords everyone who took the class sat down and enjoyed our meal. We did the market tour, and I felt we would have been better off going on our own. The market is great, but the tour didn't really add anything to the experience.

Chef Alfredo was GREAT!!! He was informative!! Funny! Patient! My husband and I were in a group with 3 other couples we did not know. We all had so much fun together cutting, slicing and creating every aspect our meal together. We came in as strangers and sat down for dinner like a family. This is a MUST DO if you're a Foodie and LVE to cook.

If you want a true cultural tourism experience, take advantage of this class. From the setting an apartment overlooking the Plaza Real to the actual class small group of no more than 10 guests, this was one of the highlights of my recent Mediterranean cruise. Although Alfredo spoke little English, he was still able to effectively communicate with the help of a translator. In some cooking classes, you passively observe someone prepare a meal. Not here. We all took an active role in helping to prepare and cook the food that we later had the opportunity to eat. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting Barcelona.

Was the highlight of our trip! The market tour was awesome! The adventure and insight of Tapas and Spanish food culture by chef Alfredo were great. But the cooking class itself was top notch. Great class for all levels.

The cooking class was definitely a highlight of the trip! We got to try a bunch of delicious tapas, understand the more about the different regions in Spain, and learn how to cook seafood paella. The two instructors were awesome, and made it a very fun day!

The cooking class was one of the highlights of my trip! The morning started with a tour of the market and I would highly recommend this option along with the class. Once we entered the class location on the third floor of a building over looking the plaza, it was very personalized and the setting was exceptionally beautiful, it looked like it was out of a magazine. There was tapas and wine waiting for us. The cooking class involved all guests and all of the food was spectacular. The chef, Fernando and his assistant were friendly and knowledgable. All recipes were to be e-mailed to us. I would highly recommend this. It is better than any cooking class I have ever taken. Thank you!

Highly recommend. Spanish speaking chef and English translating assistant could not be more kind and knowledgable. They helped us learn to properly cook paella, tapas, and dessert. They also were understanding and adjusted our time when we located another building in their area labeled cooking school, found no-one there, and went back to the hotel. They immediately contacted us and we were set right.

January 2017 - Very enjoyable! Booked this thinking that it might have lots of people, but on the day we were with only one other couple, so class was quite intimate and we got a lot of individual attention. The trip around Boqueria market was very interesting, and our guide Ginella was happy to give us time to take pictures. She was knowledgeable and helpful with suggestions for the best tapas type market stalls - yes you can eat in the market!

Loved, loved, loved this experience one of our favorite things on our 18-day trip to Spain. Alfredo taught us so much about Spanish food and Spanish culture through food. Jannella gave us a wonderful tour of the La Boqueria market before the class and translated during the class. We truly felt as if we were visiting long-lost relatives in Barcelona in their cozy living room. Highly recommend!

We had an awesome time. The market tour was amazing, so many sights, smells and sounds! we then went to the apartment where the class was to take place, very inviting and well decorated. Alfredo, the chef and Janella the guide and interpreter were so informative and fun to be with. The cooking lesson was really hands on and what we prepared was delicious!! Great time and would highly recommend for couples or group that love to cook.

My husband, 21 year old son and I joined 2 other guests and had a wonderful experience. Rodriguez taught us many useful techniques and ensured that we were able to prepare an excellent meal of traditional fish paella, Spanish omelette and crime pastelerra. The setting was superb!

I don't even know where to begin...I'm a frequent participant in different cooking workshops in different countries and this is by far the best one I've ever been to. The second I stepped into the workshop, I was already marveling at the overall ambiance of the place. It really took the whole experience to a next level. Then Janella and chef Alfredo passionately introduced the numerous scrumptious tapas we got to taste. Although we didn't get to cook some of those tapas, they have tirelessly explained the procedures in preparing them and they have sent us detailed recipes on how to recreate them. The dishes we got to cook were the omelette, paella and the dessert. They guided us step by step on the process and we learned a whole lot of cooking skills from it. We then got to sit down at the beautiful dining area to enjoy our work. Needless to say, the quality of food was TOP NOTCH. I felt like it is very different from the usual workshops that take place in a kitchen oriented space, as this one is more like a perfect marriage between a high end masterclass from a professional chef AND a five star dining experience. Till this moment I still think the whole thing was too good to be true, But it WAS that good! This is Barcelona's best kept secret for foodie travelers and I wish the whole world would know!!

WONDERFUL! Highly, highly recommend. The food was amazing. My new husband and I did this class on our honeymoon and it ended up just being the two of us. I loved that the chef spoke only spanish and provided an english translator for us. It gave the class an authentic feel. His kitchen and apartment was beautiful, a perfect location right near La Rambla.

This was a special experience in many ways. As the only participant, I was treated to a most exciting and personal event. The one on one tour of the Boqueria market was a fabulous add on that I'm pleased I chose. The cooking class was amazing - a variety of tapas, each explained in terms of ingredients plus the historical and geographical significance, the special omelette and then a magnificent seafood paella followed by dessert. I walked back to my hotel to burn calories! The chef and translator treated me like family.

This was such a great experience. I've attended other cooking classes as I've travelled and this is on the top of the list. Janella and Chef Alfredo were so engaging and informative, the decor of the cooking studio was amazing and of course, so was the food. Thank you for such a wonderful time!

The location was very convenient, and pleasant. The hosting person and chef were friendly and helpful._br/_ It was an instructive day. The tortilla and cream catalans were very good....the paella was so salty we could only eat a little bit. The irony is, the chef remarked that Americans find Barcelona food very salty, yet actually added salt in the process! As the leader of this group of 12, I have eaten paella many times in BCN and never had anything this salted! Had the Paella been edible, we would have given 5 stars.

We LOVED this!!! Best tour we have ever taken. My husband and I did class w/ market tour and it exceeded expectations! Worth every penny. Chef Alfredo was kind and patient and they give you the recipes via email. The market tour was DEFINITELY worth the extra $. No down side, unless you and #39;re not hungry. :)
