As Europe’s second largest theme park, PortAventura has something for all the family. The park is split into different cultural zones -- each based on a region in a different part of the world – with a separate area for younger children, too.
Discover a typical Catalonian coastal town at Mediterrània, watch a Wild West shoot-out in the Far West, and discover the park’s most exhilarating rides in Mexico. The largest area is China, complete with a path themed to look like the Great Wall of China, and if you take a look inside Polynesia, you’ll discover the park’s serene rides. Kids will be more than happy at SésamoAventura, an area that’s themed around Sesame Street -- the timeless children’s favorite TV show.
Take a white-knuckle ride on the Shambhala – Europe’s highest roller coaster with a 256-foot (78-meter) drop – and check out Furius Baco, an accelerator ride that’s said to be the fastest in the world with a top speed of 84 miles (135 kilometers) per hour! Boat rides, water flumes, and white-water raft rides add to the fun, and there are several exciting experience simulators, too.
In between looping-the-loops on the park’s countless rides, why not sit down to recuperate while watching a show? Performances change daily, but you can expect to see dancing and acrobatic displays as well as a Sesame Street parade featuring much-loved characters like Cookie Monster and Big Bird. There’s also an array of restaurants to keep you from feeling hungry; sit down to feast on Mexican tacos, make the most of Marco Polo’s Chinese buffet or wolf down hotdogs while walking around.
Meet back on your coach at the pre-arranged time, and then return to Barcelona, where your tour finishes.
Awful. Must of the rides were closed. There wasn’t much to do after you’ve already completed the 4 adult rides that were open. We literally sat around for hours stranded.

We had a brilliant day. We went there with a friend from the UK and her young son, who is more like our nephew and we had the best time. There were no lines at the rides and the ones we went on we're all really fun, tip wear bathers because you will get very wet. The food was remarkably good for this type of venue and the day culminated in a Halloween parade that we weren't expecting. All around it was one of our best days. Go have fun you won't regret it.

The driver insisted on keeping his window open on a air conditioned bus. If I was sitting in the back it would not have been a big deal but I was sitting in the first seat. The pressure from the open window on my ears was painful. Also, we were told the bus would leave at 7:45PM. We waited for people to come back until 8:30PM. If I would have known that I would have stayed in the park longer.

The trip was excellent. From the booking to the meeting at the local tour office in Barcelona to the comfort and ease of the 1 hour bus trip to the amusement park was perfect. We purchased the Express access tickets for the amusement park when we were onsite so if we would have had the ability to purchase these from your agent over the phone that would have been even more of a bonus. Excellent tour. We had a lot of fun. The only thing I regret is not having enough time at the park. Leaving the park at 8PM was too early. It would be fun having a bus leaving at midnight.

The girls at the office were helpful and got us sorted with tickets and bus etc. However, the bus driver was a different story. On the way back he left us off not at the travel agency but on some other street and we had no idea where we were, bit much I thought after spending a lot if money.

Loved our experience at portaventura. Went on atleast 7 rides within 2 hours. The longest we queued was 15 minutes for the biggest rides.. quickest queues I've ever witnessed. The rides were amazing and awesome. Would definitely recommend making your own way there

Bus was prompt and got us to the park very quickly. However would advise that the bus does leave promptly upon return and we actually missed it (totally our own fault), however there is a train station at the theme park that does run to Barcelona. It costs 18 euros for a one way ticket which is not too bad, but found out that you can buy a return and park entry for 45 euro per person, so will definitely recommend this over the bus.

We are a "Theme Park Family", so this was an excellent choice for us! The park had wonderful rides, great food and good shopping.....The bus got us there within 1 hour and we stayed until 7pm....I liked how the bus driver waited for a few people and not just leave right at 7pm....great day!

Me and my husband traveled to Barcelona is August of 2013. The PortAventura Trip was wonderful! We were jetted lagged for a bit of our stay and had previously order 8am tickets. Needless to say, we overslept and missed our departure time. However, the people at Julia Travels (the company organizing the trip) were so nice and accommodating. We called explaining that we overslept and they allowed for us to get on the later departure bus that day. The trip was well organized and everything transitioned very smoothly! PortAventura was very fun, with awesome rollercoasters. I most certainly suggest booking this activity!

Theme park was fantastic. Slightly disappointed that after purchasing the Barcelona card there was a 20% discount card on entry to the park. Also we ended up catching the train back which took an Hour and cost only 16 Euros for 2 people. We arrived at 9.30 so waiting until 7pm to catch the coach back was far too long especially having purchased Express tickets for 25Euros which can be used once on each ride. An absolute must as the parks peak period is in the morning when literally everyone arrives, waiting time for some rides reached 3 hours. This died down by midday.

This is basically just the transportation to the park and back - about 1.5 hours drive each way and the entrance ticket in the park. The park itself is truly worth it. It has something for everyone, so all the family will be happy. We ended up buying the express cards for an additional 25 eur each in order to get one express entrance for 10 of their best rides. Express entrance means you don't have to wait in line. It was worth the extra price, as the lines are absolutely horrendous -even one hour waiting time for some of the rides.
