Priority Access: Barcelona Sagrada Familia Tour Including Tower Entry

Barcelona, Spain

Visit La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona on a 1.5-hour skip-the-line tour. With a knowledgeable guide, head straight past the cathedral’s long entrance lines to learn all about the UNESCO-listed cathedral and its modernist creator, Antoni Gaudi. After exploring the monument, visit the La Sagrada Familia museum to see an array of cathedral artifacts. Then, climb up one of the magnificent towers with your included skip-the-line entrance ticket for bird’s-eye views over Barcelona.

Choose a start time to suit your schedule, and then meet your guide in central Barcelona. Walk straight past any long entrance lines, which are often in excess of two hours long, to Gaudi’s Gothic masterpiece, La Sagrada Familia. Then, set off to explore Barcelona’s attention-grabbing cathedral on a walking tour.
Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, La Sagrada Familia was proclaimed a minor basilica by Pope Benedict XVI. Learn all about its fascinating history from your guide, and hear how Gaudi designed the church’s interior as a Latin cross complete with five aisles. Gaze in admiration at the opulent ornamentation and walk underneath vaults that measure a dizzying 230 feet (70 meters) high.
Before leaving the church, visit La Sagrada Familia museum to see drawings, plaster models and pictures about the development of the cathedral. La Sagrada Familia remains famously unfinished, and the museum also documents information about the construction that is currently underway. The anticipated completion date of the building is 2026, the centennial of Gaudi’s death.
Your guided tour concludes inside the museum. Bid your guide and group a fond farewell, and then make for one of the cathedral’s towers. With your skip-the-line ticket, bypass the queues and travel up an elevator and some stairs. At the top of the tower, absorb the incredible panoramas of the city and — on a clear day — many of the Catalan capital’s top sights.

I book an English Tour. - but it turn out to be mix with Spanish... if there is more Spanish they will dominate the conversation more and I recommend for them to have at least an earphone to hear what the guide is saying because people tend to wander in awe of this Place

Great tour and saved a lot of time. We were on a cruise at the time so beating the long lines was very important.

So much easier than standing in lines. Facinating place and the tour guide knew her stuff.

We had a great guide who explained the history and features of this stunning and unusual cathedral. It's worth doing the tower access for the views and for seeing a different aspect of the church.

The tour guide was good and informative, but the tour group was too large and the guide walked and talked a little too fast. Therefore, it was hard at keep up with the large group at times, which caused our issued head sets to go out of range and we were unable to hear tour guide. The church from afar is breath taking, however once we got up close, the church became SO overwhelming because there is SO much going on, and SO much detail. We were given a 20 minute break before the tower access, and at that point my boyfriend and I lost interest and opted to skip the towers and go get a chocolate dipped churro in the nearby park.

This was nice to have in advance. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and did not rush our time in the church.

Such an awesome experience! I have studied Gaudi's work before and to see this masterpiece in person was priceless! Our tour guide was fantastic and I reccommmend, spend the little extra to experience the bell tower. Just keep in mind you have to walk back down 400 hundred steps in a very narrow space. One other thing to mention, we had the 2:00pm tour and the sun is shining through the stained glass windows at that time and it is gourgeous!!!!

This was far from a VIP tour with speedy access. We had to check in at a small smelly shop a couple blocks form the Basilica 15 minutes early and then the tour did not leave from that point until 15 minutes late and then we still waited on another line for 5 - 10 minutes at the entrance. We could have waited on a line and been in the Cathedral before we even walked all the way to the tour agency, Julia. Then the tour was crowded and I thought I signed up for an English speaking tour and the guide did the tour in both languages which was very time consuming. She was shabbily dressed and did not add much to the experience. This was my first Viator experience and it will be the last.

This was incredible, learning about the architecture of this fantastic building was great. Our tour guide did a great job, seemed to know a lot about the Familia. I would recommend going up the tower, it was a great view, hopefully once the church is complete other towers will be accessible.

Unfortunately for anyone with a slight walking issue will have a problem with this tour we spent nearly 45min before even entering the inside so we had to leave after a very short time

the tour was via an agency, and we had to get to the agency office, but it was not mentioned in the mails, so we got there by chance and lucky we didnt miss the tour_br/_ the tour was bi-lingual and it was difficult to follow the explanations_br/_ the guide was ok and informative but it felt very standard and not a lot of effort or enthusiasm_br/_ after the tour we heard from others about points that were not mentioned

The tour of the Familia Sagrada was the highlight of our vacation. When traveling Europe you will undoubtedly see your fair share of churches but this one stands alone. And with so much history, having a tour guide is a must. Highly recommend this tour.

This was quite a good tour. The meeting place was close to Sagrada Familia and easy to find. The guide was interesting and we did gain a great deal of insight into the interior and exterior of the building. We were happy that we had booked the tower entry and that it was a beautiful day.

Amazing Tour of the Sagrada Familia Cathedral. Elevator ride into top of one of the towers is awesome. Good thing you likely don't realize what the trip down will be like - it is hold on to the wall scary. Narrow circular steps, but breath taking views. Would avoid going in summer, as it is very hot and crowded - but that is not the fault of the tour, it is the fault of my personal schedule. Given the heat, even though the tour guide was doing her job describing the history etched on one side of the exterior, would have spent less time outdoors. The heat was debilitating and the security would only allow persons to stand, not lean against a wall. For some people with walking difficulty this was a challenge.

Amazing place! Beautiful, detailed. Guide friendly and knowledgeable. Cannot go to Barcelona and to go to the Sagrada. The tower is really no big deal. You ride up in an elevator and walk down all the stairs. There really wasn't a lot to see in the tower. But the rest of the Sagrada beautiful!

Definitely worth pre-booking to tour the Sagrada Familia and be introduced to the building by a person with excellent knowledge. There were some issues for members of the group including ourselves who struggled to find the appropriate meeting place for the tour, While written instructions appeared appropriate, for non-Spanish speaking people using taxi drivers, it took longer to find the meeting place. We arrived in plenty of time for the tour we are generally early birds but many others were late to join the tour because of late arrival and concerns about the clarity of the instructions.

At first we regretted signing up for the first tour of the day. But we got into the museum and cathedral before anyone else. Our guide was Angela, a most highly enthusiastic guide with excellent English. It is always fun to see someone take such pride in their city. We entered at the Passion side, but Angela took us through the museum so we could see the story from start to finish. She took a few minutes to point out highlights in the museum, especially Gaudi photos and artifacts. Then we were at the Nativity entrance, and Angela pointed out all the groupings and characters. She took us inside and explained the geometry and colors, and finished with the Passion entrance. Finally, she explained how to access the tower elevator and released us to spend as much time as we wished afterward. One of us was walking with a cane, and the guard at the tower elevator said she was not allowed up. Angela volunteered to hold the cane so we could retrieve it from the agency where we began, but the guard said once she had seen the cane, she had to enforce the rule. In retrospect, the view from the tower was pretty limited and the walk down 300 steps would have been tough with a cane since lighting was poor on the circular staircase. Viator's nstructions where to begin were clear and our voucher got us tickets without any hassle. Angela was a superb guide. Highly recommended.

No trip to Barcelona is complete without a tour of La Familia Sagrada. The guided tour gave us incredible insight on the symbolism and allowed us to ask questions of the guide, and we had a lot. We found it to be such a special tour we are making plans to return when it is finished.

This tour is most definitely recommended.Skip the line is absolutely the way to go, and the tower entry is well worth it. The 9am trip is, I think, the one to go for: less people around and the sun shines into the stained glass very nicely. Our guide, Carlos, was very well-informed and happy to answer any questions. Well worth every cent.

This was a very nice tour of Sagrada Familia including the tower entry. Our guide was Carlos, and he did a very nice job explaining the interior and exterior of the church. We met at the Julia Travel Office across the park and 1 block away from the church. From there we walked to the church and entered at the group entry way which was much faster than the public entry way. For this reason alone, I recommend taking this tour to avoid the long line. Carlos explained the Gaudi style of architecture and the history of the church. We took a short trip through the museum at the bottom before we entered the main church. He also explained many of the outside features and allowed us time to look around and take pictures. At the end of the tour, he took us to one of the tower elevators and got us in line to ride to the top. It was very interesting to go up in the towers, but not good for someone who is afraid of heights. You can ride up, but you have to walk down about 300 steps. I really enjoyed it, but my husband found it stressful. All in all, this was a very good use of our time and a nice visit to one of the most amazing buildings in the world!

Our tour guide provided the standard and necessary information but did not provide any extras and presented it without much personality. The tour moved slowly. Seems we could have moved a little quicker and provide more detail on Goudi the person. We spent more time outside than actually in the facility.

We had a lovely guided tour of the Sagrada Familia. It was not the best tour I have ever done, but it was solid and enjoyable. There were times it felt like it was dragging a bit, though. We paid extra for the tour entry, but in hindsight, I do not think it is worth it for the money spent or time to get up there even though this is marketed as skip the line, note that there is a pre-defined entry time for the group, so you still might have to wait around 30 minutes for that time. The viewing point is extremely tiny.

Do the tour on your own. The person who walked us through the tour was very soft spoken and her microphone would be out of range so you would miss a good deal of what she was saying. IF you have any mobility or stamina issues, you can't do the tower at you go up in an elevator but have to take the stairs down. Really disappointed in the Julia Travel folks.

Highly recommended tour. The cathedral was bursting at the seams with tourists when we where there but with the ear phones we were able to hear our guide at all times. She was very knowledgeable and could answer all other questions. Definitely the way to see the cathedral. While we were there the organ was being played, such a wonderful sound.

Sagrada Familia is one of the most important sights in all of Barcelona. Don't visit it without a guide! Fantastic experience!! If short on time, you might want to skip the tower entry....nice but not essential to the overall experience.

An absolute must-see on any Barcelona trip. I didn and #39;t give it five stars because our guide talked so much and fast and neglected to tell us to take out the earplugs to listen to the Ethereal organ music. Fortunately my son have been there previously and advise me to do so, it was a trip highlight!

A fantastic experience of an amazing building-tour guide Anna was excellent, giving good information about all aspects of the building and its surroundings. She gave excellent information about all of the saints etc depicted in the structure and why the Sagrada was orientated the way it was and also about Gaudi himself. Views from tower breathtaking as is light coming through stained glass windows.Would recommend this tour.
