Priority Access: Best of Barcelona Tour Including Sagrada Familia

Barcelona, Spain

Explore the beauty of Barcelona on this Best of Barcelona Tour, which offers a comprehensive view of this exquisite Catalan city, including a visit to La Sagrada Familia. Perfect for first-time visitors, the tour will show you the city’s most iconic sights and allow you to discover some of Barcelona’s best-kept secrets. You'll enjoy skip-the-line access at La Sagrada Familia, so you can avoid the long queues at this popular attraction. You’ll also visit the hill of Montjuïc and the Gothic Quarter. On this small-group tour, you'll receive personalized attention from your guide.

Please note: From January 11 to January 17, La Pedrera will be closed for maintenance. These are the regular works for maintenance performed annually and during the same dates. You will have the alternative to visit the Casa Batllo instead.

Start with a drive to Barcelona's famous hill of Montjuïc, the site of the 1992 Olympic Games, which offers excellent views over the city. After a brief stop at the Catalunya National Art Museum, continue down to Plaça Espanya and on past the modernist buildings of the Eixample area.

On your way to the Sagrada Famlia, you’ll go through Passeig de Gracia, home to designer stores and two of Barcelona’s most renowned Antonio Gaudí buildings – La Pedrera and Casa Batlló.

Skip the line at La Sagrada Familia and avoid the very long queues. Your guide will give you a comprehensive tour of the exterior before taking you straight past the long lines and into the magnificent interior of this famous structure, where you will have some free time to explore on your own.

You’ll then head to the oldest part of Barcelona, the Gothic Quarter, where you’ll leave the bus and enjoy a stroll through the narrow streets of medieval Barcelona. From there, travel back to the early Middle Ages, visiting the Jewish Quarter, the Royal Palace, the original 2,000-year-old Roman temple and part of the Cathedral.

Continue to the Born district, where you’ll have free time for a quick lunch before heading to the magnificent Santa Maria del Mar church, one of the most beautiful in Barcelona, where your tour ends at approximately 1pm.

Do you want to visit Park Güell and La Pedrera?
Upgrade to the full-day tour of Barcelona, and you'll continue to Park Güell. Enjoy a guided tour of the famous city garden, where you’ll be introduced to some of Gaudí’s most bizarre creations. Finally, you’ll visit one of Gaudí’s most famous buildings, La Pedrera (1-hour). You will skip the line again, and have an hour to visit interior of the building. Your tour will then end at approximately 4.30pm.

This is a large unfinished Roman Catholic Church in Barcelona. Another design by Gaudi in this city full of Gaudi works. Astonishingly beautiful - a must-see if you are in Barcelona!

This is an excellent tour...I was lucky to have Gloria as a Tour Conductor....she was very good with a lot of knowledge about the city and a lot of energy, good sense of humor and made the day as a one to remember !!! _br/_ I will recommend to anyone who wants to see the best places in Barcelona.

This tour was perfect. Judit was great! Her English is very good she was easy to understand. Unfortunately we did have some rain while overlooking the city from Montjuic, but the Gods were with us for the rest of the tour. We saw many of the local sites en route to Gaudis Basilica, which weve seen several times in past years first time was in 1964! but were never able to go inside due to the hoards! Frankly, I was blown away by the beauty of the interior. We were given whispers so could plainly hear the vast amount of info Judit shared with us. The walk in the Gothic quarter was also very interesting. Weve been there before, walking on our own, and never knew there was a Jewish quarter. Definitely recommend this tour!

Do not miss this tour. Barcelona is quite different from Madrid. Madrid seems to maintain a certain Spanish flair while Barcelona seems more European. This city is filled with works of art and has been the home to so many famous creative individuals. The Sagrada Familia will knock your socks off--as well as all those other work by Gaudi. Our guide, Gloria, kept count of our group so that no one was left behind. She was well-versed in the history and culture of everything we saw. We spent a wonderful day exploring the city and its monuments.

Gloria is a great tour guide, knowledgeable and informative. I wouldn’t go to Sagrada without a guide. It’ is best appreciated in the company of a local guide.

We were 'Gaudied' all day by Gloria, who was a passionate and enthusiastic guide. La Segrada was beautiful and she was quite an expert on it. Guell Park was a bit of a let down, would have preferred Casa Batllo instead. Gloria did a pretty good job of showing us the city. The Gothic Quarter is beautiful. We saw it illuminated the night before, and the Cathedral was marvellous!

Review by:   cathygain,    April 2018 Review: 2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better
Very frustrated that they left us at a destination different from our arrival. Half a tour would have been more than enough. Way too expensive for what it was.

We experienced the full day tour seeing or visiting the major attractions in Barcelona in the morning including a walking tour of the Gothic area. In the afternoon we visited Park Guell and La Padrera. Our guide was very knowledgeable but very talkative. Be prepared for a lot of walking including steps and inclines. We were disappointed that Viatur did not provide a bottle of water a small and inexpensive gesture. Our experience with other small group guided tours has included this. We expected to be dropped off close to where we started the tour but it was quite a distance from there and as a result our hotel. Our feet were barking dogs so we took a cab back to the hotel.

Our guide, Anna, was quite knowledgeable and gave us a good run down on the history of Barcelona, including the current political situation. If you have only a short time, the half day tour covers the basics of Barcelona, but if you want to see more Gaudi, you need to take the full day tour.

We were on this tour appx a year ago, and still feel wonderment when remembering. Our guide was great in positioning the group for optimal viewing and photos, and was a wealth of information about most anything about the cathedral or related. Well worth taking this tour if you want to see and understand Sagrada Familia.

Okay tour, not as good as the Julia tour in Madrid. Guides English was okay, and the information was not as well organized. But still a decent tour.

Our guide Cam was friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help. He was willing to answer any questions we had. Our tour through the Gotic quarter, the Sagrada Familia and Montjuic as well as suggestions as to what to do later were some of the highlights of our trip. Thanks so much.

Our guide, Cam, was great at providing the historical background and explanations about the sites we saw. We completed the all-day tour, which included the Sagrada Familia, Park Guell and Casa Mila La Pedrera. There was plenty of time to explore on your own after being provided information about each place and we were able to see four of the buildings Gaudi is famous for in one day along with other sites. Great tour that also provides a good overview of the city at the beginning of a visit to Barcelona.

A really good way to pack in a lot in a short time period. Wish we had ended or been brought back to the starting point though. You have to find your own way home from La Pedrera.

Just returned from a wonderful time visiting Paris and Barcelona, four days in each city and can say that this tour was the highlight of our trip. Our tour Nicolas was outstanding, he is a native of Barcelona, very lively and knowledgeable of the history of all the sites included on this tour, and shared lots of additional details that made the experience unforgettable. Walking tour of the Gothic Quarters in the am before crowds are out was fantastic, visited Mount Monjuic and Sagrada Familia Basilica, simply amazing and lots of sightseeing while driving around town. We did the full day tour including Parque Guel and La Pedrera in the afternoon, worth every penny of it!

A tour like this really depends on the guide. Ours was terrific -- a real Catalan native of Barcelona, who gave us a running historical overview of Catalan history while not shortchanging us on details of the various elements on the itinerary of the tour. We were very happy to have had this experience.

If, like me, you are interested in learning about Gaudi, plus a bit of Barcelona history - this tour is a great value. Covers most of the prime spots I wish it had covered Casa Battlo as well. The group relatively small 12 or so and the transportation was comfortable. Our guide was very knowledgeable and kept things light as well as moving with a good sense of humor. This made the day go by pretty enjoyably.

Great tour. Our guide had all kinds of very interesting facts especially about Sagrada Familia that you would never know just visiting the site. We also were able to skip the lines, and if you’ve ever been there, you know how big that is.

A must for anyone coming to Barcelona for a limited amount of time. You get an efficient but fulfilling taste of so much of Barcelona with a hefty dose of Gaudì. Sagrada Familia is crowded and confusing. I wouldn’t want to do it w/o someone like Judit guiding. Well worth the full day option!

This was a most informative overview of Barcelona. The Gaudi sites of Sagrada Familia, Guell Park and the Predrera took your breath away with his innovation and creativity. Our guide, Feliciano, provided a mixture of historical, cultural and current commentaries which helped explain the influences on whatever we were exploring. Most helpful. Be sure to wear good walking shoes!

The guide makes all the difference. Judit was direct, humorous and extremely knowledgeable. She provided us with some insights, historically and politically about the current happenings in Catalonia. All very worthwhile.

Very comprehensive tour of the most important, interesting and historical sites Barcelona has to offer. I took the full day tour. Bring your walking shoes and lots of energy and you will not be disappointed. This is the perfect tour for those that have limited time and want to get a good taste of Barcelona. Travelers with more time to spend in the city may want to consider doing the morning tour one day and the afternoon tour the next. Either way, you will be very satisfied.

The tour was at a rushed pace. No allowance was made for the people in the group who needed more time to get to locations, due to reduced mobility. The bus was very small and full. Larger travellers were squashed in. The tour of the Barcelona Olympic site was a lap around the block. If you were sitting on the wrong side of the bus, you saw nothing. We didn't stop to take a photo._br/_ There was little time to take photos. We were dropped at the Sagrada Familia, but the guide didn't come in and point things out, we were to find things ourselves. On our way to the Gothic Quarter we passed Casa Basilio, but again, we didn't stop and if you ere on the wrong side of the bus, you missed it!!_br/_ The Gothic Quarter was at a very quick pace again and we lost two of our group. The tour ended and we were to make our own way back to our hotel. _br/_ We did continue on with the afternoon extension, again very fast paced. We did Park Guell but the tour guide didn't join us after taking us to the entrance._br/_ We then went to Casa Pedrera Mila and we were left there to tour on our own and make our own way home. No map to show where we were just a finger point of there is the train and there is the bus._br/_ Some highlights but many disappointments for the price.

We loved Barcelona and this tour took us to all of the Gaudi sites we anticipated. The only thing I would like to see changed is for the Guide to enter these sites with the group to explain exactly what we were seeing, especially the Sagrada. This would have made the experience much more meaningful.
