Overall an awesome experience with great recipes; instructor was very personable. The size of the class was also really nice, you got a chance to meet and talk to others. Only complaint I have is one woman took over the paella stirring and it would have been nice if the instructor had encouraged others to participate since that took up a considerable amount of time and the rest of the class was just sitting here watching.

This was an excellent cooking class. One of the best tours we have done in Barcelona. Our chef went above and beyond with us in terms of insuring everyone in our class cooked or helped prep every item we made. It did not matter if you had cooking experience or not. The class was a blast.

Had the most enjoyable time here with Chef Rosa. A walk through the La Bouqueria Market was the best way to start the day.

This is a MUST SEE for anyone who enjoys cooking, eating, and local flavor! Our chef Carlos was an outstanding host and teacher... I'd rate this experience at 6 stars if I had the chance. The Romesco and fresh vegetables alone made this a 5 star experience and I'll be happily attempting to recreate the recipes at home as soon as possible. Put this one on your list asap!

This is a fantastic experience. Starting with walking the market and buying the ingredients and ending with finishing desert and saying goodby to new friends. We learned to to prepare, participated in preparing, and enjoyed eating a great meal. The instructor was very knowledgeable and freely shared her secrets. The highlights of the experience were the market and eating the food. The chef knows it well. Individual stall owners shared where and how they obtained their specific products and how to know what was fresh and what was not. The actual cooking was interesting, instructive and entertaining. My most broading experience, food wise, was eating cuddle fish and cockles. Both incredible as prepared. I would highly recommend that this be included in anyone's Barcelona experiences. After visiting the Sangrada Familia, do this.

My husband and I took this class on Thanksgiving Day, and we sure did eat ALOT! Maria brought us around the market, and then had the kitchen all ready to go. We did some of the preparations while she explained Spanish and Catalan history and culture. What a wonderful experience!

Carlos took us to Bouqueria an amazing market near the class. We bought supplies for our meal and Carlos gave us background information about local cuisine. The class was fun and the meal was delicious. Everyone participated and the wine flowed. We never felt rushed. Beautiful kitchen and atmosphere.

This was the highlight of my visit to Barcelona! I was able to convince my reluctant husband to accompany me to this class--he enjoyed every minute! Our Chef Assumpta was welcoming, gracious, funny and so very knowledgeable about the menu we were going to prepare. The kitchen was small and intimate and perfect for our group of 8. Everyone had the opportunity to participate in the hands-on aspect of the class. And the food was amazing.. romesco sauce, roasted vegetables on flatbread, Paella valencian style and yummy Crema Catalana! Assumpta's knowledge of each recipe and instruction for the proper preperation were spot-on! She made us all feel like we were all in her home for a dinner party! Oh, and the wine!! white or red and plenty of it. This is definetly a must-do in Barcelona!!

Fabulous beyond words!! To cook with the locals, helps you to understand their culture. Give yourself plenty of time, though. This tour typically lasts longer than the allotted advertised time. This was one of my favorite tours in Spain. Absolutely fantastic!

This cooking class was the highlight of my trip to Barcelona! It was a wonderful evening with lots of great food, wine and instruction by our wonderful chef Maria on how to make the various dishes. We got to do lots of hands on chopping, peeling, stirring and of course eating! We were given the recipes and I can't wait to make the romesco sauce. I even bought some of the dried chiles for it. I highly recommend this tour!!

Lovely host, great food and company. Minor complaint... if you were doing one task at the end of the workbench you missed what was going on at the other so will have to rely on the printed notes for those recipes. Having said that, came to learn how to cook paella so mission accomplished.

Let me be honest and admit that my wife and I are not good cooks. We took the class as a challenge to ourselves. But we loved all of it. I highly recommend taking the option of going to the market. This was an extremely interesting and valuable part of the class. We learned so much! Returning from the market we sampled some extremely fresh and tasty churros. Back in the class the group of 14 all participated in making several dishes. Our chef David was extremely informative of how and why things were done in certain manners and all of us learned a great deal of practical info about making Italian food. Everything was well organized and we all had wine or water to drink during the process. He maintained a cheerful and kind manner is dealing with us 'novices'. We thoroughly enjoyed the learning, the preparation, and the food. It was long day, but well worth the money and time spent. We highly recommend this experience - so much better than plowing through crowds in a tourist spot.

Really GREAT - we were a small group of 6 plus our chef. Very personable. Very professional. All around can't recommend the experience more highly. We were only in Barcelona for a few hours - basically transiting thru the airport - this was a fantastic way to enjoy the little time we had in Barcelona.

This was a well organized class at a cooking school in Barcelona. The chef spoke English with a lovely Spanish accent and was very friendly and skillful. She had the recipes all ready for us with pencils to make additional notes if we wanted to. This was hands on and she demonstrated the skills before having all of us participate. The recipes were delicious and very typical Spanish traditional foods. There was plenty of red or white wine to enjoy from the start to the finish of the class.

This cooking experience far exceeded my expectations ... which were high given it was Barcelona! We my wife and I plus our two twenty-something daughters had a truly remarkable evening with lots of memorable moments. Mario, the chef who guided us through the evening was witty, charming and full of the kind of local culinary lore that made everyone feel comfortable and engaged. The food was delicious and the wine continued to flow throughout the four hours we were there. Everyone participated in the meal preparation and service. It was a great group of people, literally from all over the world and we had lots of laughs. Take advantage of this terrific experience!

Instructor was very knowledgable on so many aspects of cooking. Class was so much fun. Lots of instruction was applicable to more than just the dishes we were making that day. Very engaging class, one of the best and memorable things I could have done in Barcelona.. A lot of basic concepts of cooking were learned and lots of how to pair or blend many types of food into a complete meal and also on presentation of food made. I thoroughly enjoyed this class.

The chef/instructor was knowledgeable and personable. He had us all involved in preparing the collective meal for nine students and by the end, we were all friends. We learned so many techniques for food preparation that we had never been exposed to, so I'm not sure we'll remember all of them but it was a truly memorable experience!

Don't leave Barcelona without taking this class!!! IT was simply awesome and better than described, my wife and caught a quick cab from the H10 Marina Hotel thinking not sure what to expect...we arrive and it was like watching a foreign language movie with the class/building facing a private street with passersby looking in wondering How can we do that! Ok, we wanted until everyone arrived and exchanged pleasantries, then off tot he optional market tour. This was a small add-on charge, but to me, the best part of the class. Our chef-Chef Carlos was equally skilled asa guide as we shopped in the world famous Market on La Rambla in Barcelona see pics. Once we completed shopping and tasting, we headed back to the kitchen to prepare the world renowned Paella and sides! We learned about Salted Cod from Iceland that required no refrigeration yes we used it...awesome! Carlos also instructed us on the preparation of various other dishes with all locally sourced produce and meats. WE made appetizers with wine, we had some bread with a fresh tomatoes puree...and some wine, all this while others in our small group were busy doing something-preparing veggies and chopping this, and slicing that...all with wine. It goes without saying that wine is major part of every meal and there were no complaints as we all partake! As the Paella came to completion we all ate, drank wine-of course and celebrated our delicious dinner with a toast of ...you guessed it wine! This was awesome and really enjoyable to meet and fellowship with diverse cultures as we learned about Spain and Barcelona and what this amazing city has to offer, well done-dont MISS!

This was a great experience. You get to meet some new people, enjoy a great meal and learn how to cook a five course meal. Our class made sea food paella as our main course and it was mouth watering. The chef was very helpful, funny and a great instructor. My only regret was not booking the option to go shopping for the food in the market.

As stated amazing, highly recommended. I learnt so much about the culture, the local food, cooking habits of the Catalonian people and cooking in general. So much food it was all very nice indeed. Caution if you have food allergies this doesn't seem to come into consideration with the menu selected. We have no allergies but were concerned if some did. Would do it again though.

We began the day with a trip to La Boqueria markets to purchase some of the fresh produce for the menu. Our guide and chef, Carlos, gave us some interesting background knowledge of the markets, traders and produce. He also spent some time on the walk to and from the markets giving us a brief history lesson and pointing out key foodie places around the Gothic district. The class was great fun and informative. The food was delicious, helped more than a little by some great wine! A thoroughly enjoyable way to spend half a day in Barcelona. Carlos also gave the group some great tips on local restaurants. Highly recommended!!

I booked this class along with the market tour, and it was amazing! Our chef Rosa was so warm and friendly, in addition to being a wonderful teacher. She was able to answer all kinds of questions about ingredients, techniques, and Barcelona cuisine. We made romesco sauce, cod confit, squid/prawn paella, and crema catalana. Everything was delicious, and we had a wonderful time chatting together in the kitchen and at the table. Highly recommend!

Can't say enough positive things about this experience! We chose not to go to the market with the chef now, we regret it. If we had to do it over again, we would definitely have gone. The facilities were lovely, food was fabulous, class size was perfect. It goes down in our memories as a highlight of all the trips we have taken. Chef Carlos was the perfect person to work with on our cooking. Would highly recommend this!
