Sommelier's Cava Tasting in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter
Barcelona, Spain
Discover the world of cava, the Catalan sibling of the French champagne, on this 2-hour guided experience. Learn all about this exquisite drink, and how to taste these three different types, all paired with an exquisite dessert. This small-group tasting will be led by a professional sommelier with experience working in 3-star Michelin restaurants such as El Bulli, and Celler de Can Roca, and will give you all necessary tips and hints about this local product. This is a shared experience with a maximum of 8 persons.
In mid-afternoon, meet and greet your guide in the Passeig del Born, then take a short 15-minute walk to the tasting location, a private room in a wine bar hidden in the winding streets of the Gothic Quarter.
Your guide is a professionally trained sommelier, a native Catalan, with a strong passion and knowledge for all local gastronomy. During the next 1.5-hours your guide will first explain everything you need to know about cava wines - their history, regions, and production processes. Then, they will guide you through a professional tasting session of 3 cavas, paired with an exquisite dessert of Catalan pastry by chef Carles Mampel.
