On this 3-hour walking tour of Barcelona's El Born and Gothic Quarter neighborhoods, you may eat as much as you walk. Follow your local foodie guide as you visit four of the city's best tapas bars to sample food and drinks typical of the Catalonian region. As you sip wine and nibble on small bites, hear more about Spanish culinary traditions and get plenty of inside tips from your guide on where to eat and what to do during your time in Barcelona.
Meet your guide at the Plaça Sant Jaume in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter to begin this 3-hour culinary walking tour. As you head to your first tapas bar of the day, chat with your local guide about Barcelona's cultural legacy, its gastronomy, and the historical landmarks as you see.
Stroll the streets where Antoni Gaudí and Pablo Picasso once walked as you get to know the history and the flavors of the Catalonian capital city.. Jostle for space with locals in some of Barcelona's most vibrant tapas bars and learn about tapas etiquette, like how to order and how to share, from your guide. Sample dishes like Iberian ham, various cheeses from around Spain, pimientos de padrón, the spicy patatas bravas, traditional grilled bread with tomato, fresh octopus, and several other dishes accompanied by fine local wine pairings and the best company. After a sip and a nibble, it's time to move onto the next spot and repeat the delicious process.
Visit four of Barcelona's best tapas bars/restaurants in total, then bid your guide farewell at the end of the excursion with a full stomach and a deeper understanding of Catalonian cuisine and culture. I loved this tour! Its not a tour for learning a ton about the history of Barcelona, but if youre interested in learning about tapa culture, while sampling some really spectacular food and drinks, this is the tour for you. You go to about 4 or 5 spots and at each a beautiful spread is waiting for you. You also go in a small group, so you automatically begin to bond once you start getting a buzz.

There are so many tapas tours available- but I am so glad I picked this one. I always look for small group tours as I feel you get a better experience and can really enjoy the company of the other people on your tour. We were a total of six people on the night I attended this tour. Our guide whose name I can't remember was a young, vibrant lady who encouraged the group to talk to each other and had us laughing the whole night. She also filled us in on where we were going and provided little fun facts along the way. We went to four different spots- all with different tapas and different atmospheres. For someone who is extremely picky when it comes to food, I ate almost everything with the exception of the sardines no fish for me. Besides the sardines- food samples ranged from fried peppers awesome, mushroom croquettes, and a variety of cheeses and meats to name a few examples. Although my favorite was the tomato bread. All the food and wine was delicious! And the wine kept flowing. They are not cheap with the amount of food or wine on this tour. By the end of the night I was completely full. One of my favorite tours that I did while in Barcelona.

Fantastic tour and experience, the perfect way to start our four-day visit to Barcelona. Our guide Tanit was very lively and put together a wonderful culinary route as well as a great walking tour of the Gothic quarter and Born area. We got to taste plenty of food and drinks, so make sure you save your appetite and pace yourself as it will be full dinner by the end of the night. We met a wonderful group of new friends and got to enjoy the lovely and vibrant Barcelona nightlife together way after the tour was over. We added the upgrade to enjoy a flamenco show after the tour was over. The show was nice but the experience at the venue was not very welcoming, and the reason I am not giving this tour five stars. We believe the venue was at fault for the way we were treated and not the tour company, EtapaTapas, their staff was great and very receptive, so five stars for them and the tapas and wine and the walking portion of the experience.

Fun times with our guide, Tanit. There was instant connection with all the travelers which happened all to be from the U.S. Tanit was fun, highly spirited and gave us great food knowledge. Our guide whose name I can't spell was amazing. Her ancestry was Tunisian, but she was Catalan. Her knowledge was deep and she made me feel as if I had some understanding of tbhe history of the region as well as some knowledge of Barcelona. She took us to tapas places we probably would never have found but would love to go to again. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. My one criticism is that it would be great to have a small map to make the finding of the various places again easier.

I would have given this tour six stars if I could. Our guide was as knowledgeable, cute, and enthusiastic as could be. We were fortunate enough to be the only ones on the tour tourism is WAY down in Barcelona right now given the political issues which are overblown in the media. As a result, we had a highly personal tour that was simply fantastic. Our guide imparted historical facts and information as we walked along and the food and wines were wonderful.

This tour is well worth the price and more. Just enough of everything. We did short walks through some interesting spots in Barcelona mostly the Gothic Quarter. Tanit, our tour guide, was very organized, and engaging. She is knowledgeable of the nuances of her hometown. She gave recommendations outside of the walking tour agenda. Good selection on food tapas and wine. Ours was a small group of 11. Nice people, wonderful tour guide, over all great experience. I will do it again!

We had the best time on this Tapas and Wine Experience, our guide, who, I am so sorry that I forgot her name, was a joy. She was very knowledgeable on the wines, food and history of the area. Went to four different places, ate, drank and laugh so much with the people on our tour for the night. Everything we ate, the meat, sausages, cheeses and olives, she told us what region of Spain each of these foods were from, as with, the wine. I wish I knew her name so that people could ask for her tour, you would really have a great on this tour. We met some really nice people in our small group, I think that's what makes it so much fun, being in small group, you get to know everyone a little bit, some of us even shared email address. We went on this tour on 6/23/17, I wish someone at Viator could find out who our guide was and give her a raise, she's the best, as you will see in my photos all the fun and food and wine we all had. EXCELLENT FOOD TOUR!!!!!!!! I have taken many food tours but this has been by far my favorite! We had an amazing time at this tour and experience food and culture we wouldn't have experience had it not been for this fantastic tour. We were traveling with 8 and a child family and did great! The tour guide was amazing, we even visited the Boqueria Market, which was one of our spots to hit. Great pace, great food tastings and really a full lunch My father even loved it- and he doesn't like anything! LOL I would HIGHLY recommend this tour!!!

Amazing! Quite the best tour we have ever been on. The guide, Roger, was excellent and the choice of stops, wine and food were very good. This was such a fun tour! Our guide, Miriam, was so sweet and friendly. She was very knowledgeable about her city. We visited some beautiful cathedrals. The four tapas and wine stops were fantastic! I would highly recommend this tour first for anyone, especially early on in your trip. Our guide was sick, so we weren't sure if we were going to have the tour until a few hours before. Our guide was great about teaching us about the history of things in Barcelona, but knew nothing about the wine we were drinking. We were hoping for more knowledge on the wines grapes, vineyard, why it was chosen. Also, the tour is very expensive for the wine we were drinking and you get one glass. The places they took us were very cool. Not sure if we will select this specific tour when we return to Barcelona.

An excellent evening which was absolutely made by our guide Alejandro and our fellow tourers. The description of the evening is very accurately described. It's a tour of very interesting local architectural and historical sights and stories which were told with great and sincere enthusiasm by Alejandro. There are 4 stops for tapas and drinks at 4 very different establishments and each stop is different to the others. Cheese and red wine in the first, fantastic cheeses and red wine in the second, fried anchovies and a salad of onion and tomato with white wine at the third and at the fourth octopus, patatas bravas and another nice dish that I've forgotten the name of along with a dessert. These were washed down with the bar's very young fizzy wine, which was excellent. The tour only had 7 people on it and so there was ample opportunity to chat as we all walked along. The tour is advertised as 3 hours approx but ours was over 4 and all the better for it and we continued with the group to a fifth bar for a nightcap, not as part of the tour, but just because we were having such a great time. So in summary an excellent evening that I would highly recommend.
