This is a wonderful day trip ! Lots of history and beauty in Tarragona. Sitges was a perfect way to end the day with a seafood lunch and local wine overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Our tour guide was fun and had lots of history to share. I highly recommend this tour!

We enjoyed our trip very much. My 16 year old is a history buff and he soaked in all of the Romans architecture. Our tour guide was great. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I would say the trip might be too long for younger kids and there is a lot of walking. I am very pleased we went on this trip.

My wife and I were the only ones on the tour that day, so we had the guide all to ourselves and he was very informative and knew the history very well.

A big fan of the Roman aqueduct and the amphitheatre_br/_ There were only 4 of us including Ana the driver and tour guide. It was just like a private tour._br/_ Seafood lunch in Sitges was yummy and we had plenty of time to wander around the beach promenade.

Nice, relaxing day with Anna, a lovely, enthusiastic, accommodating, and knowledgeable guide. It was a real treat to walk atop an aqueduct and Tarragona was interesting with a beautiful seascape, charming city, and ancient Roman ruins. We were too long at Siitges - the beach on a windy November day doesn't hold much appeal. I would have preferred an hour less there and an hour more in Tarragona. With the distance and time required, this tour may be less desirable for the time-strapped traveler to be away from Barcelona. The 8-passenger van was full and tight quarters - it should carry no more than 7 thin people. All 3 rows were close together, so not much leg room there the front, driver row should seat only 2 people, not 3, as there is only half a leg space in the middle seat, making for a long, not-so-comfortable ride. That said, it was good to be in the natural beauty of the park of the aqueduct and it was a calm, pleasant day away from the City._br/_ Judith M

Of the 5 day tours I took on a recent trip to Barcelona, this was the least interesting and the only one that I would not recommend.

Magnifique!

This was a fabulous jaunt out of Barcelona, made even more fabulous by our super informative tour guide!!! The Roman aqueduct, and the ruins in the town of Tarrragona proper were a site to behold! Treat your self to the many local spenders in and around Barcelona...thank you!

Great trip. It was just my husband and me. The guide let us choose the timing and length of time at the stops. We totally enjoyed this day. Tarragona was great but Sitges was Fabulous.

The tour was very good. We first visited the Roman aqueduct and it amazed me how the huge, sturdy structure was built by sheer man power, no modern equipments were used. At the city center, we also saw the different structures built by the Romans. Although these are now in ruins, the remaining stone walls and floors still tell us their stories and Tarragona's history.

It says small group tour and we were a group of four which was perfect. The gentleman we had as our tour guide was excellent. He gave us right amount of time to see each place. He did a brilliant job. Best guide we have ever had. Unfortunately I have forgotten his name.

Not sure why more guide books don't suggest Tarragona. It is a fascinating place with amazing Roman city remnants. You receive a quick orientation and then have time to explore on your own. We like that approach because everyone in our group was able to more deeply investigate the places that they chose. Lunch in Sitges was a great opportunity to a Spanish beach. We had time to do lunch and a quick wade into the Mediterranean.

Really enjoyed this tour with its emphasis on ancient Rome and its role in shaping modern Catalonia. Our guide was Sergei who put a lot of enthusiasm into his first tour ever! Arnold was his mentor and an encyclopedic source of information on the Roman impact and the Spanish Civil War. Having time on our own in Sitges was great as we had paella on the beach and then explored the old town. A great day!

This tour was amazing especially as there were only 3 of us on the tour! Anna our guide was fantastic - thoroughly recommend any tour with Anna as the guide! We went in a small SUV and Tarragona was wonderful - Anna has amazing knowledge and a great passion about the area. Also love the chance to wander and do your own thing. The Roman aquaduct is so impressive and Tarragona is a beautiful town. Lunch at a beachside restaurant in beautiful, quirky and vibrant Sitges then again a chance to wander and see the sights! Thank you for a wonderful day Anna!

Our guide was very pleasant but not very informative. Her accent was a little difficult and she did not project her voice.Too much time was spent in shops. We had to pay extra to visit the Roman ruins which were wonderful but we really did't have enough time in Tarragona. Sitges was lovely for lunch but not included. We felt we were basically provided transportation and kept to a schedule. Better to do on your own.

Tarragona - AMAZING is the only thing to say about this trip! I totally recommend it for anyone with a love of history! Walking around the actual gladiator pit and stepping on the market steps where Romans once were is just truly the coolest thing ever! Sitges is the cutest town on the beach side and another great way to wrap up the tour!

Our small group to Tarragona and Sitges consisted of only my wife, myself, and our guide Arnold. This was by far the most personal tour we have ever been on. The Roman ruins are absolutely amazing and the aquaduct is truly a site to behold. It is in fantastic condition and the walk there is not too far. However, there are areas you need to be careful when walking. Our guide was extremely familiar with the history of the Romans in this region and had sufficient visual aids to assist in our understanding. While in Tarragona on our own we visited the history museum of the old Roman Circus and it was really good and cost only five euro. We also enjoyed Sitges and had a late lunch at a very good restaurant Arnold recommended. Walking around in both of these old historic seaside towns was a lot of fun and we were quite pleased with the entire experience.

There were 6 of us in this small group and it was very nice. Would have liked to have more time in Tarragonia and less in Sitges as there are more sites in tarragonia. Our guide Marta was awesome!

One of the most meaningful side tours we have ever taken anywhere. Our guide was able to get the key to open the door of the Jewish Mikveh Ritual Bath in the town of Besalum that goes back to the 11th century. If you know the history of the Jews in Spain, this was extremely moving for my wife and I. Our guide made it that much more meaningful, by accompanying us and sharing the emotion of that place with us.

Super informative tour guide, he really knew his stuff and was passionate about the country and its history. Tarragona is a must see place!! highly recommend doing the tours that stop in the beach towns, Sitges, only in the summer though, as nearly everything was closed and the time we had to explore was wasted.

An interesting day out after 2 full days on the touristic buses seeing as much of Barcelona as we possibly could. Tarragona and Sitges were lovely places to visit full of history and our guide was full of information and nothing was too much trouble for him. In fact we ate at the same tapas bar in Sitges, which he had recommended and it was excellent. A nice break from Barcelona and only 80 km out of town.

Our guides Feliciano and Marta really go out of their way to accommodate and make you feel comfortable especially in that Land Rover : The sights were breath taking. Thank you both for your professionalism and care. We will definitely be repeat customers and refer to our friends and family. Best wishes always!!! The Penas

Enrique my tour guide was phenomenal! He was very knowledgeable and humorous. There was also plenty of time to do your own thing. This was the most relaxing part of my trip to Barcelona. The beaches at Sitges were amazing and offered a variety of places to eat and drink.

Fun trip. Tarragona is interesting with the Roman ruins and the aqueduct is amazing and fun to climb up to. Sitges has a gorgeous beach and great restaurants. I had a lovely meal and walked along the beach. Our guide was excellent and made the trip informative and fun.

Loved this trip. Jacob, our tour guide, was a totally upbeat guy who made the trip a lot of fun. Tarragona was fascinating--tons of Roman ruins that are still intact, and lots of history besides. The only downside was the speed of the trip. Because of the time we spent in Tarragona, we had much less time in Sitges. If you're there for the beach, I recommend eating in Tarragona instead of sight-seeing, and then just hitting the beach in Sitges, because all the restaurants in Sitges are packed, so it takes a long time before you have 'free time'. Took a winding mountain road back towards Barcelona - gorgeous views.

This was a fun day with the six of us and our driver and guide, David, was terrific with lots of infectious energy and enthusiasm. If you book a tour with Explore Catalunya, see if you can select a tour that he will be guiding. There's lots to see in Tarragona and hopefully the weather will be better in Sitges than it was for us, because it was a fun beach resort.

This tour was a pleasant surprise. I didn't know anything about Tarragona before booking this tour, and the Roman ruins were top notch. Probably some of the best ones I've seen outside of Italy. The historical core is attractive, compact and easily walkable. It features a nice mixture of Roman and Spanish architecture. Sitges didn't disappoint either! Its a highly attractive beach resort that has a wonderful walking promenade along the beach with some great beach side restaurants. I loved it here, I did not want to leave. I even went back to Sitges for an extended weekend after this day tour. This tour is highly recommended, do it!

Arnold was very knowledgeable about the history of Spain, Sitges and Tarragona. He was very personable and was able to answer questions from the group (i.e., he was not just reading from a script).

Very interesting tour, our guide was Joseph and he had a great personality for the job, very upbeat and excited to show us the area. Provided history information and was passionate about his home area. Only negative your site said the tour had a four hour stop in Stiges with a 7p return and it was three hours with a 6p return. Since Lunch in Spain is around 2-3p the time we arrived restaurants were busy and it took most of us well over an hour to eat, leaving little time to explore the area. That extra hour is needed.

Tour was.. Ok. Tour guide was new and did not have great command over English. As the day went on, I became disappointed that he couldn and #39;t convey information clearly. I think my experience with this tour company is not the norm based on positive reviews, but I won and #39;t be going on more trips with them

Joseph was obviously a history buff who knows a lot about the sites we visited. He was awesome! When we went to Tarragona, we were lucky enough to catch the Xiquets on a good day and they showed us the studio where they practice! Sitges was lovely and we made it back home at a good hour. Thank you!!
