You will be picked up at the cruise port at 8:30am or 12:30pm, depending on which option selected. First, enjoy an open safari bus tour of historic Basseterre. Your guide will explain the French origin of the city and the English colonial period as you view the cathedral, Independence Square, the Anglican Church and the War Memorial. You'll see the colonial residential district, Fortlands and Ross University campus. In Old Road, which in 1624 was site of the first English Colony in the Caribbean, see the tomb of Sir Thomas Warner. Then, tour beautiful Wingfield Plantation and stroll through the restored 18th century rum distillery as you learn its fascinating history from your guide. Drive through quaint villages like Middle Island and HalfWay Tree. Next, board a luxury catamaran and enjoy an included refreshment from the open bar as you sail under the guns of Brimstone Hill fortress. Relax in the ocean breezes as you return to port.
