This rainforest tour takes approximately 2 hours. Immerse yourself in a natural paradise where you’ll learn about the medicinal properties of plants found throughout the forest, and observe a wide variety of exotic birds common within this eco-sanctuary. You many even encounter mongoose and green vervet monkeys along the way.
You’ll depart for your guided rainforest tour from the Port Zante cruise terminal or your hotel. Departure times are 8:30am for cruise passengers and 9.00am for visitors staying on St. Kitts. First, you’ll be driven along the island’s panoramic main road en route to the rainforest where the hike begins. Pay close attention to your guide as you go; he will identify the various plants that make up the rainforest, pointing out those that have been used for medicinal purposes for hundreds of years. It is commonplace to see monkeys and mongoose along the way, as well as scores of exotic birds that inhabit the forest.
At the tour’s conclusion, there will be light refreshments such as water and /or local beer while you take a last moment to enjoy the rainforest fauna and flora. You will then be returned to your hotel or cruise ship.
