Full-Day Canadian Battlefields and Sites of Normandy Tour

This battlefield and site tour leaves Bayeux at 8:30am with your English/French-speaking guide. The caravelle (mini bus) carries up to 8 passengers. The itinerary for this tour includes stops at Juno Beach Center, Canadian Underground Bunkers, Bernieres and Saint Aubin, Canadian Cemetery, Hell's Corner, the Abbey d'Ardenne, Carpiquet, Caen, and Hill 67.

During all of these years we've tried to let our visitors see as much as possible of Juno Beach during a half-day tour. But there is so much to tell about D-Day and the Canadians, who had the second highest casualties after the Americans at Omaha Beach! Honestly, except for the Canadians and the local population of Normandy, who has heard much about Juno Beach? And who knows about the huge sacrifice of Canadians holding the positions west of Caen and stopping the German counterattacks of the 12th SS Panzer Division? So many people around the world have seen the movie "Saving Private Ryan", which is a fiction based upon the true story of the Niland brothers. But do you know how many Canadian brothers are buried here side by side in our region? We do!

The thought is that the Canadians deserved more than a half-day tour! Please join this new full-day Canadian tour and cover a beautiful part of Normandy where more than two months of terrible fighting took place in the summer of 1944. This tour includes: the different sectors of Juno Beach from St. Aubin sur Mer to Graye sur Mer, where the Canadian 3rd Infantry Division landed, a visit of the Juno Beach Center with the discovery of German underground fortifications, the Canadian Cemetery, the progression of the 9th Brigade on June 7th up to the Abbey d'Ardenne, and the progression of the capture of Carpiquet and Caen, and, finally, the Canadian monuments commemorating the bloody fights to take Hill 67. Comprehensive tour with many stops.

The tour returns to Bayeux at 6:00pm.
