This private tour from Bayeux takes you to one of the most iconic attractions in France, Mont St-Michel, just off the coast of Normandy. Take a narrated walking tour of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Benedictine abbey with your private guide, and enjoy free time to wander the cobblestone village and admire views over the bay. If time allows, you’ll also visit your choice of St-Lô, Balleroy, Avranches, the Abbey of Cerisy or Villedieu-les-Poêles before heading back to Bayeux.
You’ll be picked up from your Bayeux hotel in the morning for a 1.5-hour drive southwest to the Normandy coast. Admire postcard-worthy views as you approach Mont St-Michel, perched on a rocky island in an immense bay. This is one of France’s most recognized sights. Hop out and follow your guide on a walk to the top of the village, where the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Benedictine abbey is located. As you explore inside the abbey and around its ramparts, you’ll learn about Mont St-Michel’s symbolism and ancient history as a strategic fortification. After your guided tour, enjoy free time to visit the island's museum, wander the village’s cobblestone streets, browse shops, or relax over lunch. Don’t miss the amazing spectacle of the tide coming in and surrounding the entire island! Depending on the time, you may be able to make one more stop for upto an hour, before returning to Bayeux. Learn about the birth of Mont St-Michel in Avranches, see why they call St-Lô the Capital of the Ruins, or witness Louis XIII's trademark style in Balleroy. Alternatively, you can discover the prized copper craftsmanship in Villedieu-les-Poêles, learn about the Roman history of Bayeux, or observe one of the best examples of Norman architecture at the Abbey of Cerisy. You’ll make your way back to Bayeux in the evening to conclude your full-day tour.

At first I thought this was a pricey tour but it was worth the money! Not having to drive and worry about directions was nice. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and very personable. He showed us every spot at Mt. St. Michel. He was able to recommend and book a yummy and authentic lunch.

Our guide, Adrien, picked us (and it was a private tour) up at the agreed upon time and we drove 90 minutes to Mont St. Michel. Adrien explained a lot of things in preparation and we were well prepared as we rose to the top. He explained a great deal to us. And he four the best place for lunch.

This tour was ideal for a 2 day visit to the Dday beaches and Mt. Ste. Michel. We were picked up at the cruise ship terminals of Honfleur and Cherbourg for an additional charge. Guy was the guide, and he was quite knowledgeable and willing to squeeze in as much as possible on both days.

A great day trip from Bayeux that my wife and I both enjoyed immensely. My group of six had a great tour of Mont St Michel and St Malo. The tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable about the sites. We were picked up at our chateau on time and it met all our expectations. It was first class and I would recommend it to anyone.

Our guide was very good, sometimes a bit hard to understand. The whole day was a great experience - wonderful scenery, informative conversation and went out of her way to please us. Maybe this tour should only be advertised as Mont St Michel because our tour guide right from the start said we may not get to St Malo - but we were keen to do so - and we did, getting back about 30 minutes after advertised return time.

Private ? I don't think it is private with a bus load of people. The guides were overwhelmed watching such a big group. The Spanish we had to listen to was not the English speaking tour we were promised. Place for lunch was great but way to busy with other tour groups to make us feel anything but a production line whipping out the food.
