Tianjin Day Trip from Beijing by Express Train Including Lunch

Travel to Tianjin via high-speed rail on this 10-hour guided tour from Beijing. In a small group of no more than 15, see Tianjin's most notable sites, including the Porcelain House, Jingyuan garden, Tianjin Ancient Culture Street, and the Five Great Avenues. Along the way, enjoy an included lunch at a local restaurant.

Your 10-hour Tianjin day trip starts with a pickup from your hotel around 7am. With your guide, head to the train station to take the express train straight to Tianjin.

Your first visit is to the Porcelain House. This contemporary museum is decorated with ancient porcelain, white marble, crystal, and agate, and holds a priceless collection of ancient Chinese porcelain.

Next, travel to Jingyuan, a serene garden boasting both Spanish and Japanese styles. The garden was built in 1921 and is protected as a historic site by the Tianjin Urban Cultural Relics Protection Unit. The garden retains its original arrangements of furniture and adornments, and also exhibits photos and other documents related to the daily and political life of Pu Yi, the last emperor.

Following your visit to Jingyuan, travel to the Five Great Avenues. This was originally the foreign concession area, with buildings built by different European representatives in their respective styles. Countless politicians and celebrities have lived here, increasing the mystique of the area. Traffic is at a minimum, with wide boulevards creating a unique atmosphere.

From here, your last stop is the Tianjin Ancient Cultural Street. Through an archway, wander through numerous shops and stalls displaying arts and crafts from the area. You’ll be able to buy souvenirs here, including clay figurines, antique batik fabrics, and more. Feel free to stroll around, enjoying the sights and sounds and trying local snacks sold from the street stalls. Your guide can help explain what they are and to help bargain for them.

After you’re done here, head back to the station and take the train back to Beijing. Your guide in Beijing will then drop you off back at your hotel at around 5pm.
