In addition, you will visit two iconic places in Beijing, Tian'anmen Square and Forbidden City in the afternoon.

Meet your guide at 8:00am and drive approximately 1.5 hours to visit the Ancient Badaling Great Wall. It used to be functioned as the west gate of the defense system of the famous Badaling Great Wall. You will find this sections of the Wall is with very few tourists, and it's much more original comparing to other Great Wall sections.

After hiking on the wall for 1-2 hours, you will enjoy an exclusive lunch at one of the watchtowers (high up on the wall). This is the only Great Wall watchtower in China that offers a formal sit-down meal. You can appreciate the beautiful surroundings during your meal time. Unlimited wine, beers and soft drinks are provided. 

You will also be offered one piece of brick to help out the restoration this section of the wall. This section of the wall is closely associated with the peasant uprising leader Li Zicheng, who breached the Great Wall and overthrew the Ming Dynasty in 1644. The part of the wall you will restore is exactly the one that has been breached by him. You will receive a certificate for your contribution to the Great Wall after restoration.

After your amazing Great Wall tour, you will continue to see Tian’anmen Square which has witnessed some of the most dramatic chapters of China history. From here, you enter the Forbidden City, which was off-limits to commoners for more than 500 years. It was built from 1406 and served as the imperial residence for 24 emperors of Ming and Qing dynasties. In 1924, the Last Emperor Puyi and his family were kicked out of the Forbidden City, and it was converted into a museum and officially opened to the public the following year.

After your wonderful tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Beijing.
