After either morning or afternoon pickup from the Vaitape Pier or your Bora Bora hotel, meet your private guide and begin your 4WD tour of the island, covering approximately 20 miles (32 km) in traveling around the island.
Reach stunning lookout points where you can snap photos of postcard-perfect scenery such as shimmering turquoise lagoons and emerald green hills. Admire views of the lagoon from the East Matira lookout then continue driving to Faanui Canon lookout. Walk past canons that were left by US troops after WWII as your guide shares the story of the American troops during the war and the Bora Bora mission known by the name Operation Bobcat.
Next, descend into Faanui Valley to see a small local workshop where artisans craft beautiful tie-dye sarongs known as ‘pareu’ as well as coconut oil. Afterward, see a small fruit plantation and sample some fresh-picked tropical fruits. Then head to Amanahune Bay lookout to marvel at rock formations that came from the inside of the caldera of Bora Bora, an ancient volcanic island.
During your 3-hour tour, circle the entire island with your private guide in your open-sided 4WD, well-suited to scale mountains and rough tracks on the tropical island. Bring your camera to snap photos of the views; you even see locations made famous in the 1962 movie Mutiny on the Bounty, which starred Marlon Brando.
After a memorable island tour, your private guide returns you to your hotel.
Excellent tour of Bora Bora by 4 WD. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed the tour with our native Tahitian guide. He spoke excellent english and was full of interesting observations and entertaining comments.

Tamera arrived early for our tour. What a nice surprise. She has over 10 years experience and did a wonderful job explaining the island to us. We were a group of 8 adults with lots of questions. She patiently answered all of them. Unfortunately, one of the roads was under construction and try as she did, Tamera couldn't find a way around the construction so we missed out on one lookout location. The cost of island progress. She did a great job shuttling us all around and even made an extra stop for us on our return. The Pearl Farm was enjoyable no pressure to purchase but an excellent education in how peals are formed.

This was a great trip at a great price. Our guide was Frank. Frank made this trip much better than any other duide could have possibly done._br/_ Frank knew quie a lot about the island of Bora Bora and added by telling personal storys who knew he was a cannibal lol._br/_ Frank was also very knowledgable concerning the U.S. involment during WWII in Bora Bora. He had thousnads of photos that he had collected and is the unoffical historian off this time frame._br/_ I think this tour woud have been great with any guide but Frank raised it to the next level.
