Join this small-group wine tour from Bordeaux to the Médoc for a full day of scenic drives and wine tasting. The Médoc produces some of the most renowned red wines in the Bordeaux wine region and offers some of the best wine-tasting opportunities in the whole of France. You will visit famous classified growth vineyards and castles, where you can taste wines from the Médoc.
Throughout the day, you can admire some of the most beautiful chateaux in France as you enjoy three visits to wineries. Numbers are limited to a maximum of 8 people, ensuring personalized attention from your knowledgeable guide.
This personalized small-group tour from Bordeaux takes you to one of the most renowned wine regions in the world – Médoc. In the morning, you will follow the castle road and visit some of the Médoc’s famous wineries.
Your first visit and wine-tasting experience will take place in a classified growth chateau of the Margaux or St Julien appellation. Here, the wine produced is a combination of elegance and class. You will then head for Pauillac, where you will have some free time to enjoy lunch and taste some more wines.
Next, you’ll enjoy your second visit and wine-tasting session in a classified growth chateau of the Pauillac or St Estephe appellation. Here, the wines are a little more flesh and concentrated, producing a more voluptuous style of wine.
Finally, your tour will end at another Classified Growth Chateau for your final wine tasting of the day. During the visits, learn about the history of the different estates as well as the wine-making process. The estates visited will either be from the Classified Growth or Crus Borgeois appellations.
Great full day small group tour to medoc wine region. We were lucky to be the only two signed up for the day, so our tour was truly a small group that was personalized just for us. A lot of nice places to visit, tour and taste wine. Great stop for our lunch guide gave us options and really appreciated his recommendation it was excellent.

It might have been because we just took a left bank tour the day before and it was just the two of us, but we had a new tour guide that was not really able to add a lot to the tour - but again, not sure if he could have. The visits were nice because it was fun ton contrast the left bank from the right bank and to see how big the Medoc vineyards were.

What great value for money!! Amy (?Amiele?) was an excellent driver, tour guide and wonderful company! Her suggestions were gold. We enjoyed the wineries she took us to and lunch was exactly right. I can not recommend this tour highly enough. It was so nice to have everything organised fir us!

Our tour guide, Hugo, was excellent! I would definitely hire him for a private tour where we could pick the wineries. The three places we went were beautiful, but it was not what we expected. It was much more about the wine process and less about drinking wine. We knew it was going to be informative but we didn't think that was going to be 90 of the day. After hearing the process once and then twice and then a third time, we were bored. At the first place we received 3 small samples of wine, at the second place we received 2 small samples of wine and at the third place we received 2 small samples of wine. I'd say in total we received less than 1.5 glasses of wine over the 8 hours. Not cool!!!

Our guide Ugo was extremely likeable and helpful, giving us as much or as little information as we needed throughout the day. The tour itself is a little confusing - less a 'wine tasting' tour and more an historic tour of wineries and wine making processes through the region. While each of the locations is beautiful and the history interesting, learning about the wine making process by the third site visit became repetitive and the number of wines on offer to taste was very small compared to other wine tours I've experienced.

This trip was good and our host was absolutely wonderful, but we left feeling like there was too much free time and not enough wine tasting. One additional quality vinyard visit and wine sampling would have bumped our rating to 5-star. We also did the comparable Small-Group Saint-Emilion/Pomerol Day trip and found it to be a wonderful full-day. If you can only choose one, choose the latter.

This is an excellent tour. I cannot rate the company nor the guide high enough. _br/_ The guide Alan was fantastic.He was the best guide we had in all of France._br/_ It was suppose to be a group tour be we were the only two who showed up._br/_ The guide chose a fabulous place for lunch and put that extra personal touch on all the wineries we visited.

Adeline was an excellent guide knowledgeable, friendly, and with a sense of humor. However, several other aspects of the trip were not as promised. With 8 persons, the van was cramped, and quite stuffy on a warm day although Adeline made every effort to keep the air conditioning going and to park the van in the shade when possible. Despite the heat, we were not offered a bottle of water as indicated in the information about the tour. While the 3 chateaux we visited were indeed beautiful, the tours were repetitive -- the grounds, the fermentation tanks, the aging barrels, then tasting. Tastings were limited to two wines at each three at one chateaux with little discussion or comparison of the wines themselves the wines were of modest quality at best rather than showing off the quality of the Medoc. I would recommend that the tour company establish some diversity across the visits -- tours of the grounds, fermentation, aging and tasting at one, then perhaps tours of the grounds followed by a tasting with more extensive comparison of the wines themselves -- including a few higher quality wines -- at another.

I would highly recommend this tour. There were only four of us on the tour, and our guide Sarah was wonderful--friendly and knowledgeable. We visited three vineyards and tasted some very good wines. My wife and I both like wine, but I'm more of a wine buff than she is. Nevertheless, she enjoyed it as well. If you're not familiar with the system of Bordeaux wine classifications, this tour is a good introduction, and also becomes a helpful guide to understanding what's on the shelves of your local wine store.

It was a great tour. We had Luigi as a guide and he was both Knowledgable and friendly. There were 8 people on the tour and the van was surprisingly comfortable. The wineries we visited were great and we learned a lot about French wine production and regions appellations.

We enjoyed the full day tour to Medoc. If you are trying to decide between Medoc or St. Emilion, I would choose St. Emilion, but for a complete wine tasting experience, I would opt for both tours. We had only 3 other passengers in our van and this included a wonderful lunch in Pauillac at Le Saint Martin.

Fantastic tour. Our guide Adeline was lovely and had an incredible knowledge of local history, the winemaking process, and the French wine industry. We really lucked out with this trip. The weather wasn't great so it was a prefect day to leave the city and drink good wine. There were three of us in all which we could not have scripted and our guide, Marion, was absolutely incredible. Excellent tour. Our guide Brist? was excellent. The wineries we went to were very good. Especially the last one, in the Margaux district. I learned so much from the hostess at the last winery. This tour was excellent. It included visiting 3 beautiful chateaux and the wine presented for tasting was sublime. We had lunch at one of those beautiful chateaux had to pay for the lunch. The overall tour guide Brice was extremely good and knowledgeable. Each winery had its own guides and they also were very good explaining the history of their winery and its specific wine making process. Highly recommended.

Apart from the fact that we were given in writing the wrong meeting spot which caused a bit of consternation we really enjoyed our day trip. Our guide was helpful and knowledgable and was able to take over from one of the Chateau guides who was unable to perform well. We were able to see all we wanted to see and would recommend the trip to others.

Isabel was a few minutes late, blamed traffic, although there was none apparent, perhaps it was on her way to our meeting location? Isabel was very informative, talked incessantly but was trying very hard to show that her home country was the best wine producer. The odd thing was that after our lunch stop, she approached us and asked why one of us didn't eat? We were at a loss as to how she had this information as she was not seated with us in the restaurant or why it was any of her business. She made sure to show us the top rated chateau in the Medoc area, but then was a bit condescending that we all didn't want to get out of the van to take photos of a chateau that we had not actually visited/tasted at. While she is certainly knowledgeable and talkative, perhaps the tour would be best served with a little less chatter.
