Boston Whale Watching Cruise

Boston, United States of America

Looking for a whale watch that requires less travel time, offers the most comfortable ride available and gives you more time viewing some of the world's most magnificent creatures? Look no further! Here is Boston's ONLY 3-Hour Whale Watch on a high-speed catamaran. They will get you to and from the whales in half the time, which allows you more time to watch the whales.

You'll visit Stellwagen Bank, the East Coast's most famous whale watching destination. Stellwagen's heavy concentration of humpback, finback, and minke whales guarantees an adventure filled with opportunities to view and learn about whales as they frolic in their natural habitat.

Each Boston Whale Watching Cruise is narrated and guided by a naturalist from the noted Whale Center of New England (WCNE). The WCNE has been studying the whales of New England for more than 20 years and its members are recognized worldwide as authorities on whales.

One of the whales you're likely to spot during a Boston Whale Watching Cruise is the humpback. These Northern hemisphere humpbacks reach an average length of 50 feet, and a weight of about 37 tons! Sadly, they're also among the most endangered, and its estimated that only 8 percent of their original population remains.

With the data collected on each cruise, WCNE is able to further the understanding of whales and their world. And, their presence on board ensures that your whale watch will be an exciting and educational trip.

Whale sightings on every whale watch. If you do not see a whale on your trip, you will receive a free ticket for a future Boston Whale Watching Cruise.

The catamarans feature 3 outside decks for optimum viewing capability. Inside you will find climate controlled cabin space with cushioned seating, tables, state-of-the-art audio-visual, and a galley offering snacks and beverages for purchase.

Can't rate this more, all I saw was fog. We all got tickets to use in the future because we didn't see anything. I think they should've been able to tell that it was too foggy and we shouldn't have gone out. Unfortunately a waste of a morning. I recommend booking on the day when you see the weather.

Bucket list item check. We went out in extremely rough waters against the advise of the boat staff. It was nauseating but we held our guts unlike most of the other passengers. BUT when we got to the whale grounds we saw 5 whales, not much of 5 whales but they were definitely there. If it's a bucket list item then would recommend otherwise same the coin and go eat a lobstah roll.

After there was only one fountain to be seen far away, the ship took us out for another half hour, and there we had about a dozen sightings of whales, sometimes as near as fifty metres away. Most were short sightings of whales coming up to breathe and then disappearing again, but it was nevertheless amazing seeing those animals in the wild. We had a full hour of watching before returning, so you have to plan four hours for an hour's watch. We were glad they took us farther out though we had already seen one whale we got the impression they really want you to share their enthusiasm.

My husband and I did the noon Boston Whale Watching Cruise while visiting Boston this week. We took our repurchased vouchers to the ticket window to exchange for boarding tickets. I recommend you do this at least 30 minutes before the sailing because this process was slow. I saw no advantage to pre-purchasing tickets since we had to wait in line anyhow. They need to have a separate window for Viator to exchange vouchers.

Spotted 5 whales - several sightings of those 5. However, unless you have excellent eye sight, you won't see much of the whale. Bring binoculars. The whales surface very quickly and dive back into the water in few seconds. Still glad I went. Knowledge and Information from the crew was excellent. The wind on deck is unbelievably strong.

The tour was amazing! We had a take 2 experience. Our first trip out was unsuccessful due to rough seas we were almost there but we had to turn around due to the conditions. So they were very accommodating we rebooked for later that day with a successful 2nd trip. Amazing

An amazing experience. We got to see Salt, the first whale to be tracked since 1976 and mother of 14 calves perform for us. The naturalists gave us lots of interesting information on Humpback whales. We also saw the juvenile UFO.

We had a great time and saw about 11 whales! The naturalist on hand was knowledgeable and engaging, and it was a beautiful day at see. Snack bar didn't gouge price wise, Galdes to see that!

Absolutely a once in a lifetime experience. The staff were incredible and knowledgeable. It was great to see how excited the staff got with the sightings. We saw 12 different whales and watched the different groups the entire viewing time. 100 recommended!

Such an AMAZING experience! We had about 10 humpback whale sightings! They came right up to the boat on a number of occasions! It was my favorite part of my Boston Trip!

One of the very best tours I've ever taken! I've been on tours in Europe, Italy, Germany, and other places. This ranks _br/_ At the very top! A nice ride out to the Ocean Preserve, then within minutes, Whales start breaking the surface. Seemed as though our _br/_ Watching, netted 12-20 Whale sightings! Don't worry, the crew keeps the ship right in the middle of the action! For over an hour, Whales came up, and went back down.. then a shorter trip back to the Wharf.

The whale watching cruise was amazing. Not only did we see a whale and watched him for about an hour, it was a great boat ride out to the sanctuary and back.

This was the highlight of our trip. The boat ride out to the whale feeding area was high speed and enjoyable. Almost as much fun as seeing all of the whales. I wished that I could go on it every day. This is a must do for everyone. If you do not see whales, they will let you go some other time at no additional cost. We saw LOTS of whale activity.

Truly a lucky experience with at least ten humpback whales having fun. Several breaches and fin flapping by the younger whales. Great experience for all. Note: Take Dramamine I did before boarding to prevent sea sickness. More then half the people on this tour were sick.

Whilst we did see some whales it was more find the whales than watch the whales. Not amazing but an OK experience. A lot of money for little time to see the whales, the picture above certainly does no represent what we saw.

Really good value but not for the fainthearted if there is any kind of sea running. Very speedy access to the whale feeding grounds and a lot of time on station, but it can be very choppy so gets interesting if you dont have your sea legs. We saw a couple of hump-backed whales and plenty of dolphins but the visibility was not wonderful and the sea state extremely challenging, so dont think this is automatically an easy outing. Main tip - it is COLD 25 miles out to sea so dress appropriately - lightweight casual wear is going to catch you out unless you stay wholly in the cabins , which means the views are more limited and good luck with your and everyone else's seasickness if its a bit rough!.

The whales were awesome! We saw at least 4 or 5 of them. Note - if you get seasick, go outside on the top deck, DO NOT go downstairs. I don't get seasick, but a lot of people did.

Staff was very friendly and helpful and moved the boat around trying to find whales, which we did eventually. Although we didn't see as many as hoped, we were given rain checks for a future cruise which never expires. We were very pleased with the trip and hope to use the rain check in the not so distant future. Definitely recommend this trip.

This would be a great trip at a later time of the year. We went in late March during an incoming nor'easter. Too wet and cold to enjoy. There were few whales, and the few that were there were too distant to appreciate. The boat, however, was very nice with comfortable seating and a surprisingly nice snack bar. The crew was knowledgable and pleasant. Would do again, but only after mid-April.

This tour was okay. Did not see many whales. Only a couple. But to you parents, make your children and yourselves wear, or take warm clothing with you. There I see no heat on the boats and it's freezing. My husband and I thought we were prepared and we weren't. My grandchildren almost froze to death. Feel they should let you know when you book this trip, what to expect.

I was hesitant about booking this tour, but I was surprised how great it was. Only down side is it was hard to hear the narration due to the wind and poor speaker system on the boat. Saw whales, one breached out of the water, saw tails and fins. I loved it.

Both my wife and I got very sick on this cruise. It was like a bad movie scene with the number of people that were throwing up at the back of the ship. The boat was dirty and the bathrooms were even worse. In defense of the company, they did warn it was going to be very rough waters and that we could get a voucher for another day if we wanted to change departure dates. However, it was not until the boat started moving that I heard one of the crew members state they were 50/50 on even taking the boat out because of how rough the waters were, and that this is the absolute worst conditions they would still decide to go out in. In my opinion, for the safety and health of their passengers, the company should have decided to cancel the trip and refund passengers. On a bright note, the staff on board was very friendly and helpful and really seemed to know the boat should have never left the dock that day. I am sure they were just doing as they were told. Terrible overall experience and the whales we did see were not very close to the boat. I wish I had more positives about the trip, but really just feel like I paid 100 for us to get sick.

Whale watching is really good. But, Its a worst driving in boat. Boat speed is too high. Every one in the boat was vomiting Very very sad.

Not only was the staff knowledgeable and friendly, we got to see almost 20 whales for over an hour. Pictures and videos were plentiful! The ride out takes a bit and the overall trip was closer to 4 hours than 3 but well worth the travel time!

We had a fantastic whale sighting day....15 whales all within 40 yards of the boat! Some whales as close as 5 yards away! Feeding frenzy. It was fascinating to watch them move and blow air and open their gigantic mouths. The seas were very, very rough, and many passengers weren't prepared for seasickness. The ship handled the situation pretty well but needed more clean-up efforts. The boarding process was confusing, and it wasn't obvious where to line up and maintain a boarding position. However, the whales made it worth it!

What an amazing trip. We were so lucky to view about 10 humpback whales all around us. It was more amazing than we had anticipated. The crew was very helpful and detailed in explaining what we were watching. They gave us ample time to get all pics and never forget this awesome experience. Definitely worth the money. Strongly recommend it to anyone who visits Boston and haven't had this type of experience.

We were lucky to see so many Whales on our trip. The crew decided to stay longer out there since there were so many Whales to see. Sometimes it was difficult to decide where to watch since they were everywhere. When you go out there use one of the faster boats so you have more time out there in the Whale area. The crew also explained a lo about the Whales very interresting.

We were disappointed in our cruise. We did see plenty of whales, but not very much of them. They were kind of far away and it was hard to appreciate how big they are. Also we were on the middle deck on the side, a good place to avoid seasickness on the choppy seas that day, so we missed all the sightings on the other side of the boat. Also the trip leader would pop out the side window to take pictures with a telephoto lens and block our view of sightings at the bow. The ship was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.
