Best of Brisbane Full-Day Sightseeing Tour

Brisbane, Australia

Discover Brisbane's historic city centre, river and wildlife on a full-day tour. You'll tour Brisbane's city-centre attractions by coach, take a cruise along the Brisbane River followed by a ride on the Wheel of Brisbane (own expense). Cuddle a koala at a wildlife sanctuary and enjoy Brisbane's most iconic views from the Mt Coot-tha Lookout.

On your coach tour through Brisbane's city centre you'll pass prominent buildings like City Hall, Parliament House, St Johns Cathedral and Treasury Casino, and feel the vibrancy of the city's past and present.

Then you'll see why Brisbane is known as the River City. From Newstead Gardens, you will cruise up the river past prestigious suburbs and historic buildings, including the magnificent sandstone buildings of Customs House. You'll cruise under Story Bridge past the Kangaroo Point Cliffs to South Bank, where you'll sample the cosmopolitan delights of colorful South Bank. After your scenic cruise, enjoy a ride on the Wheel of Brisbane (own expense) before an afternoon visit to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.

Australia's oldest and largest koala sanctuary, Lone Pine gives you the opportunity to cuddle a koala, an unforgettably moving experience available only in Queensland. Lone Pine is home to other unique Australian fauna such as kangaroos, wallabies and wombats.

On your return to Brisbane you will visit Mt Coot-tha Lookout to take in views spanning the Great Dividing Range to the west and Moreton Bay and islands in the east.

I booked this tour so that my wife would have a 'cuddle a koala' experience. We were not told that we had to book! When we joined the queue we were too late. The tour was otherwise quite good but I got the impression that the driver was bored.

Our guide was great. The bus tour and riverboat tour were good with lots of good info and sights. The koala sanctuary was good but we were disappointed in not being able to hold a koala. You have to get there early to get a ticket to hold one only so many per dayand they had already given them all out. I would suggest doing that earlier in the day, or the guide get them in advance-at least for the people who have rebooked.

Full day of sightseeing. Cruise was nice. Loved Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. Tour guide very knowledgeable. Would recommend to everyone.

Our driver/guide was native to Brisbane, although he had lived abroad for many years, and his enthusiasm for Brisbane and the area really came across. The Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary was great with far more than Koalas to see. The opportunity to get up close to wallabies was fantastic. The river cruise was fun with an unexpected cream tea.

The city tour, the tea on the boat and the river cruise was fantastic. The Koala sanctuary was amazing. I would definitely recommend this tour.

The trip was educational and we get to see parts of Brisbane history and monuments. The boat ride was good but where they drop us for lunch was no good, difficult to find food and very very expensive. Would recommend this trip if you like to find out more about Brisbane but no time to go around.

Review by:   Ketema H,    November 2017 Review: 2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better
The tour guide Bob was extremely boring and rude. Would not recommend this tour, at least not with this same tour guide, and especially not for kids. The koala sanctuary was the highlight, but the hours leading up to it were very boring.

It did not worth the money. We started from Gold Coast. The drivers from and to GC were nice but the old tour guide who picked us up in Brisbane was quite rude. I found nothing interesting introduced by him. Time allocation he set was too tight and it was in hurry all the time, especially when the tour joined by many old people, even disable one. I felt like we were robots all the time, though we are customers. We came back to GC 30 minutes earlier than schedule and I think there were some small stops were ignored._br/_ However, the cruise without this tour guide was good. You can enjoy the river' scenery and that's great.

Booked a couple of days before the tour...received a text asking me to met at the bus terminal 3rd floor at 8:30..I arrived at 8:15. At 9:00 I asked whether I had missed the bus...calls for other tours were made but nothing about the Brisbane city tour. I was told people still checking in...we finally got on the bus at 9:20. No explanation as to why we were 50 minutes late leaving...I believe it was because of a late group checking in but 50 minutes..wasnt a great start. Guide was informative. I sat near the front of the mid size bus and could hear him speaking. He had a microphone on but it was terrible quality very crackly. People further down the bus began to speak amongst themselves..guide did ask for quiet however I think the poor quality microphone hindered their experience. The day was good. Enjoyed a river cruise and 2 hours at the Lone Pine Koala Park. I wonder though what did we miss being 50 minutes late leaving....

I enjoyed the different segments of the tour. First, a very interesting city tour by bus. The tour leader had wonderful stories to share. Then the delightful cruise, along with delicious tea and scones. Fun to explore South Bank I especially was impressed by the beautiful Nepalese temple. Best of all was the visit to Lone Pine Sanctuary. We got there in time to see the feeding of the koalas and Tasmanian Devils. Getting up close to the kangaroos and wallabies was thrilling.

Tour was informative and interesting, especially the visit to Lone Pine Santuary was really fun! However, would be better if we were allowed more time to take photos at some scenic places like the Breakfast Creek Hotel and Mt Coot-tha Summit.

Hotel pickup was late, driver seem not to know his way to Brisbane Transit Centre and on the phone when he was driving. The bus left without us as we were late. We were tolld to take a cab down to meet the tour guide which we did not agree as it was not our fault that we were late.

This was a great day of sightseeing. I was by myself but felt perfectly safe. Hotel pickup was on time. Transferred to central bus station. A quick ride around the city and lots of information given. Had a stop at the botanic gardens which were beautiful. Drove to Kangaroo Point Park to take pics of Brisbane from the other side of the river. Then on to the Breakfast Creek Hotel with the bar with the most expensive rum in the world no time to eat or drink unfortunately. We met the river tour boat, had tea and cake, and took a leisurely ride down the river to the Southbank Parklands next to the ferris wheel. There was a little time to eat/drink there before heading off to the Lone Pine Koala sanctuary. This alone was worth the price of admission. You can hold a koala and get a picture taken and feed kangaroos and wallabies. There is a little grocer there so you can get snacks/drinks if you choose. The next and last stop was Mt. Coot-tha summit lookout, which had nice views of the city. The bus dropped me right back at my hotel. If you have a day to burn and want to see a lot, I recommend this tour. I should mention that I've been on other tours by other vendors in other parts of AUS who listed koala sanctuaries, but this was the first one where I actually got to hold one, not just pet it.

Travelling for business and wanted to make the most of my weekend. I would highly recommend this tour as it squeezes in a lot in one day. The tour guide was a great guy and very knowledgable, Brisbane river cruise is fun, Lone Pine Koala Sancturary is a must when visiting and finally Mount Coot-tha is a quick stop but just enough to get a panoramic view of the city. 135 is great value especially if you don't have a car and gets you into the sanctuary.

Good way to see Brisbane old and new. Saw city and outlying areas. Good to do at the beginning of a visit to get bearings and tips on best things to see and how best to get around the city and river.

This was an okay trip. Would recommend booking your photo op to hold a koala before hand. By the time we arrived at the sanctuary, all of the passes were sold out. Our guide was nice but not very interesting. The river cruise was very nice.

Bob the tour guide was very informative about the city and showed us the most relevant sights. The river cruise gave a different view of the city and the commentary was good. The visit to the sanctuary for kola bears , kageroos, dingoes etc was good. The final tour was to the mount outside the city which gives excellent views of the city.

Tour guide was rude and spoke in a monotone voice that bore me to sleep. At the start of the tour, I was told by the tour guide in a stern tone to turn off all notification sounds from incoming WhatsApp messages because it could drive him mad. During a sight seeing portion of the tour, someone was nearly left behind for not getting back on the bus just minutes before the prescribed time and location. The tour attractions, landmarks and sights were amazing. But the guide spoiled it.

The Gold Coast pick-up driver is rude and the Brisbane driver/tour guide is sarcastic and can be pathetic. Worst tour ever.

Review by:   aiperjc,    June 2016 Review: 1 star rating: I do not recommend this
Do NOT even consider unless you like listening to boring ang sarcastic tour guide. The driver who picked us up and dropped us off to Gold Coast keeps chatting with another passenger that we almost had accidents. Countless times he needs to make abrupt breaks. Terrible experience.

Good trip plan if you only stay in Brisbane for a short time. You can see a lot from the trip. Of course to cuddle Koala is the best part.
