Visit two of the Kimberley region’s most popular attractions on a full-day trip by 4WD to Windjana Gorge and Tunnel Creek. Your tour begins with an early morning departure from Broome as you travel east into the Kimberley gorges by 4WD. Listen to your guide's expert commentary on the history and geography of the countryside you're traveling through, and stop for morning tea at the Willare Roadhouse beside the Fitzroy River. Visit the historic Boab Prison Tree, measuring more than 50 feet (15 meters) and believed to be more than 1,500 years old.

Your tour continues along the Gibb River Road, traveling towards the ancient Napier Range and Windjana Gorge. Experience the tranquil beauty of this remote oasis, where the limestone walls rise more than 300 feet (90 meters). Keep an eye out for freshwater crocodiles and birds hiding in the Lennard River that runs through Windjana Gorge, and look for fossils of shells and sea creatures on the soaring rock walls.

After enjoying a picnic lunch at Windjana Gorge, spend the afternoon exploring Tunnel Creek on a guided walking tour. Discover secret caves in the network of underground tunnels that run for half a mile beneath the Napier Range, and take a refreshing swim in a picturesque waterhole. Hear legends from the past, including the tale of Jandamarra, a local Aborigine who led an insurrection against the settlers and hid out in the gorge in the 1890s.

The last stop on your tour is a sunset visit to the ruins of Lillimooloora Station, revealing the history of white settlement in this area more than a century ago.

Your return trip by 4WD includes an optional dinner (own expense), arriving back in Broome at around 10:30pm.

A long day but we saw everything advertised. Even came carefully close to crocodiles. Great guide who was knowledgeable and informative. Food was good for an outback experience. Worth the trip.

The tour was a long day and much to see most of the time. Our driver, Ross, kept the commentary flowing when it needed to be and gave us some breaks to concentrate on the scenery and wildlife. The knowledge displayed by Ross of the country, its stories, the indigenous people of the area kept us all entertained and informed. We would recommend that, for the tunnel walk, specialist boating shoes would make it easier. I know that the instruction given was for shoes that could get wet, but more than that is needed. The food was tasty and adequate well served and kept cold. Drinks were plentiful and again cold. Thanks Ross for being a great host and great company.

Realise that the Kimberley is a huge place, but found this tour extremely long for just seeing two sights for a short time at each site. Almost 12 hours in travel time to see places for 2 - 3 hours

This is a good tour to see to beautiful places, we had a knowable guide and the provided food was good. This is a long day so be prepared, we departed our resort at 8.00 am and didn't return until 9.15 pm. The first stop for morning tea is a 2 hour drive, followed by a four hour drive to tunnel Creek were we had lunch before exploring Tunnel Creek. You will need to bring walking shoes and ones to get wet, as you wade through some water about 30 cm in September. A 30 to 40 minute drive to Windjana Gorge, were we saw Fresh water Crocodiles, Bats and other animals. You then drive back to the morning tea stop for dinner at your own cost ordered at morning tea.

The experience of walking through the gorge was breathtaking,to see the way the water has carved the rock. Looking at 80+freshwater water crocs was thrilling._br/_ Tunnel creek was something else to wonder at as you walked through the tunnel and return.our guide from Kimberley wild was very good .

This was an excellent tour! The guide was knowledgable and funny. The trip was long but well worth the time. I would highly recommend it. The tea and lunch prepared by the guide was really good. Bring water it is hot!

Yes, it was a long day but well worth the travel to see the magnificent Tunnel creek and Windjana Gorge. The day was broken up with regular stops and the lunch, morning and afternoon tea was well catered for. I would recommended this trip.

Wonderful day out. Lovely scenery, great tour company. All staff very obliging and friendly. Tunnel Creek was the high light for me. Only negative thing, a long day. But one knew that before we booked. My wife and I missed this place 20 years ago when we came with our caravan. We came especially to see it this time,. with the Horizontal Falls

A knowledgeable guide provided excellent information about the area we travelled through as well as the sights we visited. It was great to see so many saltwater crocodiles in Windjana Gorge and to have a swim after walking through Tunnel Creek. The lunch provided was very good and we had good photo opportunities.

Great trip, take a podcast or two for the trip home. Good commentary although a strain to hear as quite muffled at times. Guide was ok but found his manner a bit unprofessional and sarcastic at times. He did respond well to some inappropriate questions asked of him, it can't be an easy job. The drive was a long day, over 900kms in all. The stops for morning tea, lunch , afternoon tea and dinner were perfect timing and well supplied. Good to have ordered dinner (extra cost) at morning tea stop and well catered by the roadhouse at the end of the day. Fresh fruit for afternoon tea was fantastic. Views, tunnel caves and Windjana gorge were a real treat. Loved the swim after the walk through the tunnels; It would have been better all up to only _br/_ wear swimmers for the walk as our clothes were wet through when we returned to the bus.
