On this convenient shore excursion, travel around Cadiz on an open-top, double-decker bus, and see all the main sights such as Cadiz cathedral and Puerta de Tierra as you hop on and off whenever you want.

Once a launching point for ships sailing to the New World, the 3,000-year- old port city of Cadiz is now famous for the picturesque, Moorish charm of its old central quarter. Grab a snack at one of the numerous cafes around the city. Or visit Plaza de Sevilla, Plaza de la Hispanidad and the nearby Victoria Beach.

Hop on and off as many times as you like at then 12 stops. The entire route takes approximately 1 hour. The bus departs every 30 minutes from each stop – the closest stop to the cruise port is Stop 12, Plaza de la Hispanidad. Tickets are valid for 24 hours from first use.

We took this as a shore excursion. We had been to Cadiz and Seville on previous trips and wanted to see some of the area. As opposed to other cities this route was limited and therefore disappointing .

Nice enough tour. This was very common Hop-On Hop-Off bus. The bus traveled to most of the important sights in the city. The narrative was recorded but of good quality. We were happy with the tour.

This is a great way to get the feel for a city. Ride the bus around and decide what you really want to see.

We had problems with this from the start. When we booked it, it clearly stated we could use a paper or electronic ticket. Because we'd booked while on the cruise, we used an electronic one. They would not accept it. We wasted half an hour while they had us email the voucher, they wanted us to call but I didn't have an international plan so I wouldn't do that. We kept pointing out where it said electronic vouchers were to be accepted but they wouldn't take it. Finally they allowed us to get on the bus, and we quickly realized the bus simply loops around the old part of town, but doesn't really get near much of interest. Furthermore, the old part of town is very compact and easy to walk thru. All in all, a waste of our time. Particularly with the half hour waiting to even be allowed on the bus.

Great time! Bus stop was right across from the ship. Easy to get on even though it was very busy. Good way to see the town in a short time. Definitely would recommend if you need a shore excursion.

The bus tour was good and the stop near the beautiful cathedral, which gave access to the Torre Tavira with its camera obscura, was very well placed. The city had a really good feel to it and is certainly worth avisit.

We have used these viatour hop on - hop off tours several times. They are always worth the money. A good overview of the destination which gives options if you have time to take advantage of the transport and some special inclusions they offer.

We had time to go through the tour once and then go back and visit the places that were most interesting to us.

You can't go wrong with a Hop-on Hop-off bus tour in any city. This is a great way to get a feel for the city and decide where you want to concentrate your touring. The audio with the tour is very informative and you have a choice of 6 to 9 different languages to choose from. If you plan of taking pictures from the bus you will want to be on the top level open air, if it isn't raining. You will want to get in line early to get a good spot on the bus, as they fill up quickly. Cadiz if a beautiful city and the old town section is a great area to visit. The best way to see it is to take the bus around town first, then hop off where you want to start your walking tour. There are different colored lines painted on the walkways throughout the city that you can follow to do your own walking tour. Information kiosks have maps of the city for self-guided tours that you can take. We were told that Cadiz is the oldest city in Europe and was originally settled by the Phoenicians. It has many beautiful forts, cathedrals and buildings. There are many tours to Seville that your can take from Cadiz, if you have the time. Cadiz is worth a day to see all by itself.

Good overview, but not enough information about various sites.

Excellent value for money - Cadiz was more interesting that envisaged. Will use this method of getting around a city again - for sure!

Review by:   Amanda B,    October 2014 Review: 1 star rating: I do not recommend this
When we arrived we were given a hard time about having an electronic ticket, even though it said right on the ticket that an electronic ticket was acceptable. Once that was handled, we got on the bus and plugged in our ear phones. On the first bus, my "English" channel had one ear in Spanish and one in English. I didn't feel like I got very much out of the commentary, which I usually enjoy listening to. The second bus we got on, both my mother's and grandmother's audio didn't work at all. We missed one of our stops because the driver didn't stop for long enough for us to get up and get down the stairs by the time we realized it was our stop (the bus was already moving by the time the audio said the name of our stop for us to know it was there).

We knew Cadiz from previous visit, but his was the first bus tour. A long wit to get on even with pre-booked tickets, 2 big ships in port and ours Azura had been selling hop on/off tickets on board. So much busier than "normal". Cadiz is compact and the tour goes both ways up/down the "promenade". Pity the tour did not stray a little further out of the city. Newer buses than we have experienced on previous tours.

Beautiful ride along the beach. Construction caused the route to be altered and shortened.

The bus stopped right outside the cruise terminal and we did not have to wait long to get on one but frankly we were disappointed with Cadiz.

Excellent tour of the city, with information in our own language and the walking tour was also not to be missed - good value for money.

The on-off bus got us going but unfortunately, when we tried to walk around we got "lost". Cadiz is most unusual and it's hard for the on-off to get you right to what ever it is you want.....

Review by:   Ralph S,    August 2012 Review: 2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better
If your ship docks in Cadiz, you should take a tour to Seville, which is spectacular. Cadiz is a beautiful city, but there isn't much to see. The afternoon walking tour is worthless.

Excellent service and could truly get on and off and see sights. Saw much more by using this excursion. Highly recommend.

Very short route. made the cost rather high We were there during one of their protest marches. Bus service was slow at best. Would not do it again unless no protests and cheaper
