Your 2-Day Reef and Rainforest Package Combo will take you to the two extremes of Tropical North Queensland during your stay in Cairns. Spend a day discovering the Great Barrier Reef on a cruise to Green Island. Your second day sees you exploring the rainforest with a trip on the Kuranda Scenic Rail and the Skyrail.

Day one: Green Island Reef Cruise
Cruise from Cairns to Green Island, a protected coral cay on the Great Barrier Reef. On arrival you can explore the island at your leisure or just relax on the beautiful white sandy beaches. Entry to the resort pool is included. Alternatively you can get closer to the reef. If you want to stay dry, take a semi-submarine coral viewing tour, or if you prefer to get wet make use of the snorkeling equipment for a closer look. Introductory and certified diving available at an additional cost.

During the day you can return to the boat at any time to cool off in the spacious, air-conditioned interior cabins, and a buffet lunch wil be served. This is a great cruise for an introduction to the Great Barrier Reef for all ages.

Day two: Kuranda Scenic Rail, Rainforestation Nature Park and Skyrail Rainforest Cableway
Travel to Kuranda aboard the famous Kuranda Scenic Railway, one of the world's most spectacular railways. On arrival in picturesque Kuranda, enjoy free time to explore the attractions and markets before a visit to Rainforestation Nature Park. Here you can meet koalas and other local wildlife, splash about on an amphibious duck tour, and experience indigenous culture with the the Pamagirri Aboriginal Dancers and Dreamtime Walk.

Return to Cairns on the Skyrail, the world's only rainforest cableway. Glide silently over the rainforest canopy and take advantage of the two stops en route to enjoy a walk through the rainforest. Lunch is not included. Please note: the order of your itinerary is subject to change.

This is a fantastic tour that anyone visiting the Reef and wanting to pack a lot of sightseeing in to 2 days will love. Unfortunately for us, it had rained for 4 days prior to our visit and a landslide made using the train impossible...BUT the tour company bused us out to Kuranda and handled the change very professionally at the last minute. You will love this package!!

Green Island was a Love/Hate experience. Green Island, in and of itself is an exceptional place. It is small, the snorkeling is good, the walk through the Reserve is a great learning experience. The Hate part comes from the crowds, there were so many people it was hard to move around. I would relate this experience to being in Disneyland during a holiday....not fun. If you are an experienced diver or snorkeler and don't like crowds I would not recommend this tour._br/_ The Kuranda Day Trip would be the highlight of this package. It is well organized and a very enjoyable day. Kuranda was a beautiful town and the people very friendly. The Rainforestation was something special. It was fun, interesting and educational. The food was plentiful and very good. I do wish the package had an option out for the train. I would have preferred to take the SkyRail both directions.

The two days were good value and very well run - slick operations with no hassle. Both the Great Barrier Reef and Rain Forest were fantastic experiences. The walk round Green Island was well worth doing and easy to work into the schedule. Food and drink excellent on both days. Would have been nice to see a few more turtles on the GBR!

The scenery was more than expected. Green Island Great Barrier Reef tour was breath taking. If anyone goes there, I would recommend adding the lunch as an extra. The food at both places was well worth the cost.The rain forest tour was another trip I would highly recommend. Going up into the mountains by train was worth every penny. If this is a Once in a Lifetime trip, do it. You will not be disappointed!

This was a fabulous excursion! Be prepared on the cruise with a bag to carry your snorkeling equipment. The equipment is included, but not a bag to carry it ashore. Also you will need change for locker use. Enjoy!

A great package. While Green island isn’t as impressive and very commercialized, it definitely quenched the urge to see some of the GBR. The 2nd day at Kuranda was amazing. The tour organizer runs it like a well oiled machine!

A few things conspired to make this an underwhelming experience. First of all, there are apparently two days per year when the train doesn't run. Rather than not let me book this tour, or even contact me after to tell me that there was no train, the tour company just unilaterally moved my tour days up by a day -- notwithstanding the fact that I wasn't even in Cairns yet. And they wondered where I was when they tried to pick me up at my hotel that morning... I was in Melbourne. Before you read the below, know that all the actual tour guides and other employees were awesome. This is no reflection on them.

Our favorite part of this tour was the Rainforest -- definitely a Five star -- we started our day at the Kuranda rail station which had a interesting museum and display before our very scenic trip on the train -- coming back we had an amazing skyrail ride over the rainforest! We had a super coach driver that got us where we needed to be and we thoroughly enjoyed the army duck ride, the Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience dance performance, boomerang and spear throwing demo, and didgeridoo playing! The day going to Green Island was ok -- about 3 stars at best. I was glad that our tour included the glass bottom boat and the semi-submarine for viewing the reef. The lunch was not very good and since e had to return to the boat for the buffet I thought it was very disruptive. The island itself was pleasant and we enjoyed the walk about there -- if we were snorkelers it would have added to the day. My biggest issue was that our voucher did not provide specific information about where we were to go -- our voucher indicated that we would be picked up at our hotel at 9 am and had I not asked our hotel to call the local tour company we would have literally missed the boat since we had to get ourselves to the boat dock by 8:30 am. I would strongly suggest better tour meeting directions.

Unable to see any fish when snorkeling, I do not know if it was because we had a rough weather. It will be good to have shower facilities at the resort. If you suffer from seasick please be sure to take medication before the submarine and glass bottom boat.

Fairly good, too many people for our taste in the catamaran. Food was acceptable, and personnel were attentive and nice. In my opinion, these excursions are damaging the coral reef. The submarine especially travels very near the corals......there are no fish to be seen in the Green Island beach.

This tour is extensive for those with only 2 days in the Cairns area. Day one was the Green Island cruise: Ship was a large catamaren with enthusiastic staff. Indoor as well as out door seating. The glass bottom boat and semi submersible provided easy viewing - but beware - if the seas are rough the confines of the semi sub may cause seasickness! The challenge when snorkeling was finding storage for our other gear - if you will be snorkeling find a locker to use (On the ship or at the resort - there are none near the beach). Also no showers so be prepared to be salty for the day. Bring rain gear as well - monsoon season means rain. Buffet lunch on the ship was enjoyable - bring your $ if you want a beer! The Kuranda day trip was terrific - beautiful (and narrated) views from the train, unique shopping experiences - fun even if you did not shop. The village and wildlife was also great fun!

The Kuranda Day trip was fantastic. The relaxing train ride provided wonderful views. The Rainforestation provided a day full of excitement-the Army duck ride through the rainforest was very informative, holding a koala provided a cuddly memory, the wild life park and dance/spear and boomerang throwing very interesting and fun. The Skyrail down gave a beautiful view of the rainforest and distant views. The reef cruise made for a relaxing day out-don't forget your sunscreen. The boat staff were very friendly and helpful. The snorkeling was a bit disappointing due to limited coral and fish. However, the semi-sub provided a great glimpse of underwater life.

kuranda was great. Awesome tour. Green island was nice however the trip was ruined by the girl who was taking pictures on the boat. She offered us a picture to buy which we did for 16 dollars. when we saw she had taken another picture of us which we liked better she would not let us exchange it and told us we would have to buy another picture. i understand this is another way for the tour operator to make money but this experience soured our day. How cheesy. The tour operator was Big Cat and everything was fine including the buffet lunch but the picture gal ruined it for us.

Happened to also be over Chinese New Year so LOTS of tours with loud crowds. Green Island very touristy; trip to Rain Forest/Kuranda was fun on the train, and the ride on the 'duck' through the forest was educational. Weather was wonderful, but turned out to be a very expensive side trip from Sydney. Would not recommend to others for this reason.

Everything I expected and more. Both days were wonderful and all arrangements ran like clockwork. Only suggestion is that for an older couple like ourselves it would be nice to be able to have a day between trips as with the heat too long days are quite exhausting.

The tour was great. Only advise is snorkeling was not professionally handled. I advised others not to take snorkeling dress and pay extra. You will be OK with your normal gear and it is more comfortable to do snorkeling with your normal clothing.

This was a great tour, well organised, friendly crew, very helpful, would recommend this tour to anybody unsure of a trip to the reef. The journey took just over an hour and 15 mins, I'm not great on the water but took a travel pill and was greatfull as a lot of people were will due to the windy conditions. Green island is quiet, small and beautiful , enough to see and do to fill your day tho.

Our day out at Green Island was enjoyable in spite of the rain. We were pleasantly surprised that our package included snorkeling equipment, the glass-bottom boat tour and the semi-submersible - all were great! The water was rather choppy on our way to the island - thankfully they supply ginger tablets at the bar on board for those feeling nauseated. Also, the ability to rent a locker on the island was great. Buffet lunch was also good. The Kuranda Day trip was great (and we had better weather). Train ride was lovely up to Kuranda and we enjoyed the entire package of duck boat tour of rain forest, the aboriginal show and the tour through the wild life exhibit. We were also excited to be able to get our picture taken holding a koala and the price was great. Our tour did not include lunch but we were able to enjoy the salad bar at the buffet for only $9. The gondola ride back to the bottom was spectacular - but definately not for anyone who does not like heights - once you are on there is no other way down. So if heights are a problem - take the bus ride back down the mountain.

An amazing time! We felt like children again with a sense of wonder with all the exotic and beautiful things we saw. Snorkeling on Green Island is a must! They outfittted us with everything, including sun protection suits (for a nominal charge). We did both the submarine and glass bottom boat, which I thought might be redundant, but each offered a different perspective and both were worthwhile. The Kuranda Rainforest was gorgeous and the Aboriginal show entertaining. We even got a chance to throw a boomerang and cuddle a Koala (but that cost extra). It poured rain while we were on the gondola, but an attendant provided us with an oversized umbrella so that we could walk in the forest. It was an unbelieveable sensory experience to walk in the rainforest during the downpour. These were 2 days we will remember forever.

This 2 day package was ideal for our short stay in Cairns._br/_ Day 1. Barrier Reef - Excellent organisation, the staff were friendly and helpful especially Kylie Davies from the Cruise service desk. My daughter and I got our days mixed up, so, on this day we were dressed for the Rainforest, she quickly made arrangements for us to be taken back to our hotel to change into our beach wear. Thanks to Kylie we were able to fulfil our main reason for the trip - to snorkel in the reef and face our fears of the sea. Everything about the day was brilliant, could have done with at least one more hour on the Island._br/_ Day 2. Kuranda, Rainforest – Be prepared for a very full day, also note this package does not include lunch – therefore either purchase something in the short time you have in Kuranda market or take a picnic and eat it in the tranquil Tropical Fruit Orchard of the Rain Forest Station. The train ride up to Kuranda and Skyrail down to Cairns was brilliant and the vista is breathtaking. The rainforest tour guide was very informative; my favourite plant was Hairy Mary. The Zoo keeper was also knowledgeable about the Wildlife. After the Panagirri Aboriginal dancer’s performance, make sure you have a go at the boomerang throwing. _br/_ One suggestion I would make to the tour company is for each of the tours to be extended by 1 hour so that there is a little more time on the Green Island and in Kuranda Market.

The views are spectacular!!The train ride was very relaxing. I booked two Viator tours for a total of three full days while in Cairns and Sydney.
