Have your camera ready aboard the Kuranda Scenic Railway to take photographs as the train winds its way around Horseshoe Bend and past Stoney Creek Falls and Barron Falls. You will witness the World Heritage Rainforest with Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. Make sure to have your camera ready as you glide over the rainforest canopy and glimpse tantalizing views of Cairns' beautiful coastline.
From lush tropical rainforest it's on to the blue expanse of the Great Barrier Reef and your spectacular thirty-minute helicopter flight to the Outer Reef. From the heli pontoon at Hastings Reef, you will be transferred to a high-speed vessel to enjoy a delicious tropical lunch.
After lunch you will have more than two hours to snorkel and swim. If you prefer not to get wet, you can take an informative semi-submersible boat tour to see and learn about the delicate coral reef ecosystem (if time permits). Then it's time to relax and enjoy the live entertainment on-board this luxury vessel as you sail back to Cairns at the end of a packed, fulfilling day.
Absolute wonderful day! A scenic train ride followed by a fantastic view of the rainforest via a gondola ride. From there we took a 25 minute helicopter ride over the Great Barrier Reef. It's the best way to truly get an appreciation of the reef. Kuranda was very nice. The helicopter ride, a waste unless you get front seats, you barely see anything and they do not tell you that._br/_ The Great Barrier reef is average at best

This was one of the best days I have ever had traveling! I was worried that it was too much in one day, but it didn't feel like that at all. Looking back on it, I would definitely have spent more time in Kuranda, we were worried we wouldn't get down the skyrail in time, but that didn't take near as long as I thought. Also, once you get on the boat on the reef, I rushed through snorkeling to also do the submarine, but they ended up adding another group towards the end, so I could have taken more time and still fit both in. Everyone was really professional and the people I were with was great. Didn't feel weird being a solo traveler at all and doing this trip. I fully recommend it if you don't have a lot of time in Cairns. I was happy to have the next day to just lay by the pool and relax.

This was our best day !Helicoptering over the Great Barrier Reef! Only hitch was mechanical trouble on helicopter made us late to the big boat and prevented us from snorkeling in the Reef which was a real disappointment - as a consolation they took us on the submarine .

I wish I had two days so I could have spent some more time in Kuranda but this tour was sensory overload. Absolutely amazing! The guides made sure I didn't miss anything. First is the ride on the Kuranda Scenic Railway - great old train with history and beautiful scenery with a couple of stops for pictures through the rain forest up the mountain. Kuranda is very interesting town at top. Then, you are riding down the mountain in a gondola over a canopy of the rain forest trees looking out to the city of Cairns and the ocean. Once you arrive on ground, the guide whisks you away to the heliport where you board a helicopter and fly over the Great Barrier Reef, which is breathtaking. You land on a helipad in the ocean and a large boat picks you up. You can snorkel, scuba dive or go in the semi-submersible. I took the submersible and we went downstairs and sat on benches with individual windows to look out on the sea life and the reef. You are at eye level and the colors and variety outstanding. On the way back you are treated to a very good lunch we had steak and fish and one of the crew is a singer/guitar player. The realization of all that you have seen that day is sensory overload in the best possible way. They give free rides to/from your hotel. I stayed with a family so they made arrangements for my journey to the train station and from the port. This is a must tour, worth every penny!

Well this had to be one of the best experiences of our entire 6 week trip. We had a great time and learned a lot about the area. I did manage to get in one dive aboard the boat at the end of the afternoon as well. This was really well organized with very little wasted time. Well worth the money in my opinion.

Loved the train, the skyrail and magnificent views!! great helicopter tour and amazing landing on the small dock!! The snorkeling part was ok - very crowded in the area where we were limited to snorkel. Also, lunch wasn't very good. But still thrilled that we got to do all in one day!!

it was a busy and long day but I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Hastings Reef was incredible and the Helicopter out was stunning. I will say that this is a great trip if you only have a day but if you have a little longer I would do Kuranda as a seperate day trip. You don't really have the time to explore with only around 30mins before you have to leave for the sky rail.

We pretty much enjoyed the Kuranda scenic railway, not as much on skyrail, not as much on heliride in fact as most reefs are dying, you wont see much color. Though, it was still exciting since it was our first time flying on a helicopter. The cruise was pretty rush. If you do take semi-submersible boat ride then you probably wont have time for snorkeling/diving. Basically we kinda rush through the whole trip except the first 2stops. Despite all these, overall was good. A package that well worth the money considering there was a 30mins heliride, lunch on cruisepretty late, we were starved till 2pm. If you wanna do all these stuffs in 1day then YES. Do bare in mind that it'll be quite rush and remember to bring along some snacks. Hope this helps. Enjoy your trip!

This was an excellent tour. The pickups were all coordinated and on time, we went from one event to the other with no problems. This was very well organized and executed. When you book something on-line and don't talk with anyone it can be a bit intimidating when in another country to know if things will happen on time.

The best part was the helicopter ride to the reef and snorkelling on the reef. Good lunch on the boat. Kuranda Scenic railway and sky rail was a great view of the area. I would have liked to have visited Kuranda but that would have made the day too long since I chose such a tour with some much in it.

What a great way to fill a day starting with our hotel pick up and delivery to the train our driver was great very helpful making sure we had everything we needed or wanted the staff on the train where great offering to take photos of everyone adding a personal touch to the trip the day was so well planned and ran so smoothly we where extreamly impressed with all staff and the helicopter ride was amazing the semi sub is a must for everyone to see the reef we where well catered and had an amazing holiday ..

Everything was fantastic from the train ride to the sky rail, helicopter ride was the best. The only real down fall was the food on the boat, for the price you pay there was no buffet only a few steaks and sausages that were reheated and a few salads already served on a plate for was terrible for the price we paid. Staff on the boat were fantastic. If you are planning to do,this tour really think about it as the food was bad. I was terribly disappointed. My rating will be based without food.

Brilliant! It's a lit to do in a day, so didn't really get to see much when we got off the railway, but we always knew it was a busy day.mifnyou are an explorer, I'd suggest two separate trips! _br/_ Transport was prompt and guides were helpful and knowledgable._br/_ The helicopter ride was amazing. The crew on the boat were fantastic and helped me with my first snorkel.. An experience I was so glad I did!

A great way to spend a day in Cairns covers all major activities presented in an efficient and enjoyable manner. The Skyrail particularly was magic, skimming over the tops of the rainforest canopy and following the explanations in the brochure. Highly recommend this experience to visitors without their own transport.

Tour was great but weather not so good. Rainy day made the Kuranda village not something we could even get too. Felt very rushed getting to skyrail. Couldn't see anything on skyrail. Loved helicopter but snorkeling rough with the weather and no glass bottom if bad weather. Food good guides great!

Overall this was a great tour adventure especially the Railway ride, Skyrail canopy ride and the Helicopter ride over the Great Barrier Reef. Everyone was helpful and considerate. The boat cruise was crowded and we were just additions on a cruise boat already loaded with snorkelers and scuba divers. My mate with me did enjoy his couple of hours snorkeling. I on the other hand not being a water person was disappointed in the all to brief glass bottom boat ride. It only lasted about 15 minutes and did not really do much exploring. Our meal on the boat was adequate. Would recommend this to others, but if you are not into the water portion be prepared for a couple of hours on a crowded boat.

A very long day but well worth the effort. Transfers to / from hotels and various places in between were timely, no hanging about. Started the day with train from Cairns to Kuranda village lovely shops there for souvenirs amongst other things, local crafts etc.. We only had a half an hour there which is not long enough. Back to Cairns via the Skyrail over the rainforest, stopping off twice to see the Byron Falls and Red Peak on the way before being whisked off to the airport for the helicopter ride out to Hastings reef. Recommend getting a seat on the left hand side of the helicopter as you see more from that side as you approach the pontoon adjacent to the reef. But this depends on weight per individual as they try and balance everyone's weights evenly so if you're big they won't let you sit up front! Loved the snorkelling and swimming. Change into to swim gear before getting on to the helicopter, this saves a lot of time when you get to the reef. Lunch was so so but didn't spoil the day. Fantastic day out, loved it.

Bitterly disappointed that we were unable to visit Kuranda village at all, due to lack of time ! We were herded off the train. straight onto the cable cars.....but then waited 30 mins for our minibus. Better time management would have allowed us the time to spend at the village !!_br/_
Great Barrier Reef. Helicopter was a good experience, but the transfer boat was smelly and filthy. Too many people on the dive boat....consequently, not enough sting suits for everyone, even though the staff were aware that jelly fish were present. Lunch was very basic and disappointing.

Loved the events on the tour, but you need to be self-confidnt you can follow initial instructions as you are on your own for the individual sections. Picked-up at hotel and given broad overview of day. You are then pretty much on your own and have to manage time to meet pick - up.

Unfortunately we only got to do the morning part of this tour. We had extremely bad weather and the helicopter and reef part of the tour was cancelled. That said, the Kuranda Scenic Railway and Skyrail was wonderful, even with the torrential rain. Viator gave us a prompt part refund! Top marks!!!

Due to weather, the first part of the trip railway to Kuranda and cable car back was cancelled the day before. Fortunately, the skies cleared and the helicopter took off for the Reef and all was well. The company providing the tour, was very helpful and honest in their dealings with me and the cancellations. They were willing to cancel the entire trip if I found an alternative tour more to my liking with another operator. It was unfortunate, the company did not provide the option of cable car in both directions to the village and then the helicopter to the reef. I would have opted for this alternative.
