Isla Mujeres Trimaran Cruise

Cancun, Mexico

Sail on a beautiful Trimaran through the Caribbean Sea and travel to the tropical island that sits on the imaginary line between the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea. Explore Isla Mujeres and enjoy a relaxing day on this beautiful, quiet island!

Isla Mujeres (Island of Women) is a casual, laid-back refuge from the conspicuously commercialized action of Cancun, visible across a narrow channel. Just 5 miles (8km) long and 2.5 miles (4km) wide, it's known as the best value in the Caribbean!

Request your tropical drink of choice from the bartender and take a seat in the shade or enjoy the unique experience of stretching out at the front of the ship across the open netting, the only thing between you and the beautiful Caribbean Sea!

Relax and enjoy the views as you cruise along, stopping at a coral reef national park along the way for an hour of snorkeling. You'll be guided through crystal clear 30-foot (9 meter) deep waters to admire beautiful coral formations, tropical fish and other fascinating animals. Your guide will sprinkle fish food into the water to completely surround you with schools of beautiful tropical fish. At the conclusion of your underwater journey, your catamaran will meet you at the other side of the reef and take you to the Beach Club.

As you make your way down the dock, don't miss the chance to have your picture taken holding a shark! (subject to availability). Then, take a seat on hammocks and lounge chairs and enjoy a delicious all you can eat buffet lunch.

Then re-board the catamaran and sail to the best shopping zone in Isla Mujeres. Browse a range of interesting shops with everything from classic souvenirs to incredible hand carved limestone and wooden sculptures. Although sometimes hard to find, you'll also find beautiful preserved sea creatures and shark jaws straight from the sea. The rule is, you never know what you'll find on Isla Mujeres!

The sea looks terrific on a sunny day. The tour guy and staff on board are very helpful. Photos taken during snorkelling are perfect so I bought the whole package. The price for the tour is well worth it. Regret not giving tips because could not get changes before on board.

If body shaming someone who is quite fit and and lying to you about taxes on ever turn is your thing, this is the tour for you. Tour was fine, nothing otherworldly but totally undercut by gross unprofessionalism. Suggest you look elsewhere as it's not that hard to find better.

The trip was a lot of fun, we went out to snorkel but the water was to rough so we couldn't go to the underwater museum. The guides were really good, we had a lot of fun with unlimited beverages. The only thing is they keep you in a group and with other boats around it got a little crowded as where my son and I separated from the group.

Well... The tour was very expensive and for that price quiet mediocore/low quality....._br/_ 1. the trip started very late, like over an hour later when we had to be at the meeting point_br/_ 2. we have had very view time on Isla de Mujeres- 1,5 hours! and nearly everyone was very tired at that time_br/_ 3. The snorkeling stops were very overfilled tourist places... nothing special at all and we had to hurry a lot, you couldnt see a lot of fishes because the stops were very deep and we were forced to wear swimwests..._br/_ 4. the guide was very unprofessional as he left a girl crying with panic in the water, my boyfriend got seasick and was vomiting and even wasnt waiting for him and asking if he feels good/better. At the end my sick bf was watching for the little crying girl..._br/_ 5. Food and Drinks were very! mediocore..._br/_ 6. we were hurried a lot and pushed to sell us stuff as 1 hour golfcar for 600 pesos :D at the end we were on time on the boat and had to wait for the others who went out with the golfcar_br/_ 7. at the end the staff was saying that they were working voluntary on the trip no wages and were begging for tips_br/_ 8. For 75 Dollars?! the transport to that meeting point, which is kind of outside the center/hotel zone could be AT LEAST included

This was one of our favorite tours of our trip! Departure was from Cancun Bay Resort and check in was easy. The Gulf was rough and we got a bit seasick going over. The swim/snorkle did not help with the nausea but was still fun. We had our own gear borrowed their fins and that was for the best. Their snorkles did not look very efficient. Our stop for lunch was some of the best food we had but the beach was very crowded and there were no chairs for us. The next boat ride took us to the downtown area for shopping. We did not purchase much but enjoyed looking at all the shops...folks were a bit pushy to come in and look. After about 1 hour it was time to return to Cancun. The drinks flowed freely every time we were on the boat and the crew was great! It was a much better trip than going on the ferry because we were taken right to the best places. Great trip!

Whenever we go abroad on holiday, we do try to go on a Catamaran trip, however this time I had booked the day out on the trimaran Lupito from seeing the promotional video. Initially my wife felt disappointed by the small size of the vessel, however having put to sea and noting the smaller number onboard and that it was not a booze fueled trip sat back and relaxed into our day, don't get me wrong the drink flowed as much as you wanted. Having stopped for snorkelling we then stopped off on Isla Muyeres from lunch, although we took part in photographic session with a nurse shark in hind sight we realised how cruel this was due to the small pen in which the shark was housed. After lunch we then got back on the boat and travelled along the coast to the main town. Having spent nearly 2 hours we then boarded the boat back to Cancun. The staff on the Lupito were fantastic, not only providing the entertainment they were excellent guides. If you don't want a boat trip mobbed with booze fueled people this is a definite trip to do

So, the open bar is good! However I felt a little too crowded on the boat. The music was really low and the spirit and enthusiasm from the guides wasn't really there. We didn't start drinking shots until the end of the cruise. We saw other boats ad they looked like they were having more fun than us. On the plus side the snorkeling, Isla Mujeres and the short pit stop we made at the beach was awesome! amazing views of the island and the water was spectacular! If you like a low calm atmosphere this is for you, but if you like to party make sure you take the Party Cruise 2 to 3 levels party boat.

My daughter and I enjoyed this fun trip very much. WE LOVED EDGAR Shrek who is such a sweetheart. We've snorkeled many places and this was not the best snorkeling we've ever seen but it was nice. The buffet was OK at Isla Mujeres but getting to touch/hold a nurse shark was unexpected and very cool. The beach we stopped at for the buffet was OK but the water was quite shallow and we didn't have much room to really swim. I truly believe this trip would not be as good if it were not for our dear EDGAR Shrek. We just love him!!!

My husband and I decided to do this tour because I wanted a more exclusive experience at Isla Mujeres rather than taking the ferry there like most people do. We took a bus from our hotel to Cancun Bay Hotel which was the meeting point. Staff from the trimaran greeted us outside and ushered us to the dock area. When we got on board, we were very cramped, sitting next to each other on assigned spots.

The tour was a pretty long day. And we were ready to get back and they stopped the boat to let people ride the spinacure on the front of the boat. Good was so so. Hotdogs some soogie nachos and spaghetti. Snorkeling was pretty good. And the guide did not always provide both laguages

VERY disappointing! NOT all inclusive. Lunch was the pits and did not include drinks. Safety did not seem to be a high priority. They supposedly called out Lupita the name of the boat regularly but if your head is under water you don't hear it. The lead guys had a life savor but no colored flag on top to identify. the are was VERY CROWDED with many boats/snorkelers. The museum was covered with algae and hard to discern. My mask/snorkel was totally not adjustable and I took in a lot of sea water or didn't and couldn't see anything! The only positive part was a great couple we met on the boat and spent time with. Actually, the Spinnaker Swing was fun, EXCEPT you have to be a REALLY STRONG swimmer to then swim against the current to the back of the boat. I am a strong swimmer and I had a heck of a time getting there!! I would vote against this tour every time.

The cruise was great, although the choppy water make the snorkeling challenging and some on the boat got motion sickness. Also, the lunch is not that great. Having said that, the cruise again was beautiful, touring Isla Mujeres in a golf cart was an enjoyable experience, and the crew/staff were fantastic.

The snorkeling was not very good here. Very little fish to see and a few cement things under water. The island was nice and the crew was great. Improve the snorkeling and it would be a fantastic trip.

Best excursion I've ever been on! I've been on excursions in Jamaica, Nassau, and Grand Cayman Islands. This was my first trip to Cancun and I highly recommend this one. The tour guides were awesome Shrek is the lead tour guide. They kept the drinks coming and were able to answer any questions we had about the different stops we made. They kept doing a headcount to make sure everyone was on board when it was time to leave the island and head back to the boat. The boat was clean and the restroom onboard was clean.

Not exactly what we expected. It was more of a Spring Break Booze Cruise than a what we were looking for. Felt like a bunch of sardines packed onto the catamaran w/ absolutely no shade for 5 hours.

Hoped to go snorkeling but sea was so choppy that everyone was exhausted when they got back on board. Not a proficient swimmer but have snorkeled twice on the Great Barrier Reef, and also at Key Largo and hoped to descend the stairs into the water but staff were having none of it and wanted us to jump off side of boat - no thank you. Buffet very nice and plenty of it, Shops on Isla Mujeres were intimidating, would have preferred a quieter place where we could go for a walk. Naturally the fibre glass finish on the boat could'nt be smooth and have everyone slide off into the sea, but the sandpaper finish left me unable to sit properly for a few days. On that bum note I'll finish. .

This trip was great. Friendly professional staff who took care of us really well._br/_ Food was really good and lots of rum and tequila. The snorkelling was amazing as we got to see the underwater museum sea was rough so need to be a decent swimmer. Boat was just a nice size and was not too crowded_br/_ Would definitely recommend this trip

It was a nice sized boat and kept the experience more intimate. The crew supplied us withe drinks the whole time. The snorkeling was cool because we saw the underwater museum but the water was rough and I would recommend being a decent swimmer. Spent some time on the beach while we were at isla mujeres. Everything went really quickly but it was a good day and the water was beautiful.

loved the tour, had a really good day, funny day as it was raining heavily at first we nearly decided to change the date, glad we didnt. the guides/sailors were very nice and friendly, very happy. the boat was very clean, lots of drinks. the water was so clear and so blue extremely beautiful. I didn't see much when we went snorkelling but not the guides fault. I'm not a very good swimmer at all and felt comfortable in the water with the help of the guides. We were supposed to go to the underwater museum as well but the waves were too rough, again out of their control. We rented a golf cart in Isla Mujeres, best way to see the island quickly, had so much on this. I was sceptical about the food at the buffet I am very fussy! but it was delicious! would def recommend and I would do this again!

This was an unbelievable trip aboard the Lupita. We arrived at the port,,right at the Cancun Bay Resort at 9:30. We did have to get there ourselves, but the city busses run every 5 minutes and it costs about 10 1/2 peosos to ride. We watched the other large catamarans load up with 60-80 people. They looked like total party boats. We we were ready to go there were only 11 of us!! We felt like we were on our own personal boat trip. As many drinks as you wanted on board the boat, all day. We only snorkeled for about an hour, but two of the deck hands took us, one taking pictures the other leading. The boat met us after we had snorkeled. Lunch on the island was a buffet and was very good. Soda and water included, but liquor extra at lunch. Back on the boat after lunch and then got dropped off in the downtown area of the island.for an hour of shopping if you want. Then back on the boat for the trip back with a stop for swimming on the way. It was a perfect day!! I would recommend this trip to everyone!

This was a party on the boat! There was unlimited drinks, but of course that was after we got done with the snorkeling which was so much fun! We got to see the underwater museum, and it was something else! There was so many fishes and fishes swimming right underneath you too, definitely worth doing! We then went to a secluded island for a buffet lunch and we had time to swim there too and it was so peaceful. Afterwards is when we went to Isla Mujeres, which was beautiful! Definitely recommend this tour!

I loved this tour, it was so relaxing, just sailing out into the water and leaving Cancun behind. We went to an island for the buffet lunch and it was so relaxing! We were the only ones on the beach and we did stay there for about an hour and a half, which is plenty of time to enjoy the white sand beach. Then from there we went to Isla Mujeres which was really nice too! We rented a golf cart which was fun and then headed to the beach!

What a fantastic day trip! We had the Trimaran La Lupita with a great crew, hosted by Angel._br/_ I would highly recommend them, as they took care of the entire group of cruisers and treated us all like VIPs. I like the trimaran, because it was smaller than the huge catamarans. Small group, less crowded on the boat, easier seating. You stop once to snorkel, once to eat and pet a shark, and then off to downtown Isla shopping. _br/_ Angel guided us so well in the water while snorkeling, even with other larger groups co-mingling, he kept us together. He gave us great advice for the shopping on Isla Mujeres, and told us where to go, and met us on/off the island and boat to make sure we were informed._br/_ I just wish the Isla shopping was a bit more than an hour, as we were rushed to get to a few stores, and the shop owners really try to get you in at every turn. It was a little overwhelming. _br/_ Overall, a great tour. Angel and the crew were fantastic, and really blew away our expectations. They were entertaining, fun, engaging, and really made all the difference. They also took some great photos, and sold them to us at a fair price. Best part towards the end, we got to stop in the middle of the water to jump off and swim, which was amazing.

Take a water taxi to Isla instead! In the past we have been very satisfied booking our excursions through Trip Advisor's company Viator.com, but this one was a bust! The only positive was that the crew had a personality and tried their best. I should taken the time to review old faithful Trip Advisor's website reviews where the consensus mirrored ours. Instead of being crammed on a catamaran, with the hot sun beating down for 6 hours mind you we are from California and used to the sun, and the snorkeling being mediocre at best, it would have been a better experience had we toured the island on our own. With 5 young adults along for the ride, we are all in agreement that the free time was the best part. We found a beach with gorgeous crystal clear water, shelter from hot sun and a restaurant offering cheap cervezas. Renting the golf carts would have been fun had we had more time. Isla is an authentic Mexican town with shop owners lining the streets. I am certain we could have found better eats than the lunch we had at the beach club.. if you can call it that. Our boat ,La Lupita followed suit with all the other catamaran excursions to the Island. They boast a pit stop at a relaxing beach club with hammocks which consisted of 4 hammocks for over 200 people. On vacation, we prefer to avoid crowds.... A Wally World experience and that poor shark! Did not get to use the spinnaker sail either.Thirty years ago when I visited Cancun I was in awe of the snorkeling. It was the best I had ever seen. I would try snorkeling in Playa Carmen instead. Very disappointing! I must say the Caribbean waters are so beautiful.

The snorkeling was far too short and limited to an area with very little to see. The trip to the Isla Muhjeres was a waste of time and the "Beach Club" food was poor, the beach far too rocky to enjoy on a hot day and it was way over-populated (too many boats). Don't waste a full day with this.

The staff was entertaining and friendly as well. Views were amazing. Only downfall was it seemed a little rushed at times

Small boat, could not even stand up and walk. Not walk around, walk. On the way back we hit a squall and had to sit on deck and get soaked. The snorkeling was at best, boring. I have done several "cheesey" snorkeling trips and this one was no different. The depth of the water was around 30 ft so nothing close to see. The coral was, basically not there. Sandy bottom, no reefs. The guides wanted us to stay close to them and gave no real direction or information on direction or communication either before or during the snorkeling. The statues were covered in moss and not interesting at all. Food on the Island was good and plentiful. The drinks were watered down. The crew was excellent and tried to make the best of it. _br/_ If you have never tried snorkeling and want to see the island and have a day "sailing" I say that because we were on motor all day, then this is the trip for you. If the reefs were in more shallow and existent, this would have been much better.

It was overall a good day. It was easy to take a cab to the hotel and easy sign in. It takes a LONG time to get to the island. I wish the snorkeling was 2 hours instead of 1 because it went by too quickly. The lunch can be better since there was barely any vegetarian option. I was surprised to not see chips! We spent ALOT of time in the sun so be prepared and bring lots of sunblock. Mostly on the boat. It was tiring but a overall fun day!

The actual tour was good. Isla mujeres was nice. My review is more about the boat the Lupita... A little run down. There were other boats out that day that looked a lot nicer. _br/_ The snorkeling was just ok. The current was very strong that day so the guide made it a point to make sure we all stayed together and extremely close. I was getting punched and kicked the whole time we were snorkeling. I did appreciate that they were concerned for our safety though. The food was adequate at the restaurant. The boat crew always made sure we had what we needed. They were very attentive and there was always someone around to help if we needed it.
