Shore Excursion: Walking Tour of Cartagena
Cartagena, Spain
Stroll the Modernist streets of Cartagena, enjoy panoramic views of the ruins of the Roman Theatre of Carthago Nova, and go to La Concepción castle during this 3-hour shore excursion in Cartagena.
The tour will start with a visit to a "must-see" attraction, the Interpretation Center of Punic Walls, where you'll discover the beginning of history in Cartagena. Afterwards, take the panoramic elevator to the top to enjoy the outside of the castle known as La Concepcion. Marvel at the panoramic views of the Royal Marine, the quayside, and the Modernist city center of Cartagena that became the capital of the Spanish Navy's Maritime Department in 1728. From the top of the hill, admire the views over the Roman Theatre, a stunning archaeological gem with loads of history and legends which your guide will share.
Later, walk down to the city center and enjoy some green areas of the city. Upon arrival into the center, view the Town Hall and its different façades before continuing to the Cervantes House and Casino; these are both among some of Cartagena’s most impressive Art Nouveau buildings. The tour will end at the Grand Hotel, built in Viennese and French styles.
At the end of the tour, your guide will offer an option to enjoy some local tapas and drinks (at own expense).
