Spend your morning with the cutest, yet impressive, creatures in China! Visit either the Chengdu Panda Breeding Center or the Dujiangyan Giant Panda Center and take a guided tour of the facility. Tour through the baby and adult panda areas and visit the red panda section to see these small adorable animals -- you may get a chance to hold one.
The first and foremost priority of the facility is to ensure the pandas are living in a safe and stress-free environment. Depending on the condition of the animals or the season of the year there may be some situations where the facility is unable to guarantee panda holding for your tour date. You will be given prior notice and refunded the difference.
Spend your day with some loveable creatures that will never fail to capture your heart. A hotel pickup will take you to either the Chengdu Panda Breeding Center or the Dujiangyan Giant Panda Center, non-profit research and breeding facilities for giant pandas and other rare animals that strives to simulate a natural environment for these creatures.
Your expert guide will take you through the center to get a full overview of a panda’s development. Learn about the progression from a baby panda to a full grown panda with a visit to the baby panda area, where you’ll admire these small and delicate creatures. Despite their age and size, you’ll see how full of life and energy they are!
Then, head to the area that keeps the young adult pandas. Learn how adolescent pandas, between the ages of one and five, spend this important maturity period. Finally, you’ll witness the giant panda in all its full-grown glory at the adult area. Take pictures of these endangered species eating bamboo, sleeping and playing with one another.
Keep an eye out for the red pandas among the trees or stretched out on a branch with their legs dangling. Choose to feed and take photos with them (see more below). After a morning of admiring these lovable animals, you’ll be transported back to your hotel.
Upgrade to hold a baby giant panda! Take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hold an adorable baby giant panda, which are six months to one year old, and get your photo taken! This unique experience takes place at the more intimate Dujiangyan Giant Panda Center to let you admire these rare, endangered creatures up close. Plus, all of the money will be donated to the non-profit Dujiangyan Giant Panda Center for research. Option only available if conditions are favorable.
This tour was great, and just as advertised. Worley was an awesome tour guide, and knew so much about Chengdu and pandas. We were picked up promptly at 7:30am at our hotel, and were taken to the Panda Breeding Center. We were able to tour the facility and see all the pandas before getting ready for our photo with the panda! It was 20 seconds or so with the panda, who was sitting and eating bamboo the whole time. I took this tour back in November. Worley met me at the hotel promptly and we headed toward the panda center about an hour away. She was full of information about the center and the city of Chengdu. Worley clearly was passionate about pandas and made the perfect host for the day! We spent the afternoon at the center. Worley helped find the best vantage points for views and photographs. This was one of the most memorable aspects of an incredible 2 week trip to China. I highly recommend this tour!

It was amazing experience. Panda cub was so cute and was able to hold her about half minute. Our tour guide Jenny was super nice and lovely. She was punctual and spoke English really well. She explained lot about Chengdu and pandas and gave lot of tips what to do and where to go in Chengdu. Must do!

This was changed to a full day Wolong panda volunteer. Met at my hotel by Worley and driver right on time. A couple of hours drive to the reserve. Worley gave me a lot of panda and Chengdu information. She loves the pandas very much. The day was wonderful only 3 of us as volunteers. Well organized. We cleaned the enclosures, we swept up the floors, we feed the pandas and made from scratch the panda cakes. I took the optional panda picture opportunity with a one year old panda. Ive got some amazing pictures. Lots of opportunities to walk around the reserve. They are dedicated to saving pandas.

My day started with Rudy picking me up at my hotel and we were off to the panda breeding center. Rudy was top notch. We chatted all the way and I learned so much about him, Chengdu, Chinese culture, etc. I was glad to know that Rudy didn't just drop me off but came along and played tour guide. I saw about 10 or pandas - Tai San, Bao Bao, etc. That was so incredibly helpful because I do not speak mandarin. The only ones I didn't get to see were the red pandas because that area was under reno. After I 'held' the baby panda, I got my t-shirt, certificate and pin, and we were out. We chatted some more on the way back and he got me back to my hotel safe and sound. All around a wonderful experience!

The private car drive was very nice and comfortable. The Panda center is further out from Chengdu and is a good panda center but not near as nice and the one in Chengdu. Definitely go to the other one to hang out and spend some time with these great animals. My guide took me around for over an hour to visit the Panda house, but I had already done this yesterday at the other and was not near as impressive. The draw back was it was slightly rainy and my hair got ruined for my pictures which is all I cared about...I just wanted to touch a Panda!!!. So the final thing was to get ready and see the panda....he was roughly a year old and super cute. You do wear isolation gowns and gloves. You honestly only get 45-60 sec with the panda.....so enjoy as much as you can. They will take pictures for you and they did a great job with that. I had a ton of pics on both of my cameras from the girls. I just wished someone had told me to put my hair up.....would have looked better. Don't expect them to be all excited that you are there to get pictures.....its a quick in and out....they are not impressed that you paid money to get pictures. But once again....that all I wanted....to get up close to these amazing creatures. I don't regret the experience....just wish it was longer.

Car was great. The center is not as large as the one in the city....so please make sure to visit the one in Chengdu....it was amazing. The visit here was short....but all I cared about was see the panda. Its short....so take it all in as you only get less than a minute to interact with panda. Just wish someone told me my hair didn't look the same as when I arrived : I would have pulled it back....oh well.....people only want to see the sweet Panda face anyways. I don't regret it....I just won't spend the money to do it again through.....that was a pricey picture. Also note that there were two people with the center that were there to help take pictures.

It is an amazing experience to pet a panda. I say pet because our babies were about 1.5 years old and really just sat next to us, rather than us being able to hold them. As others have mentioned, the time is short, but still a must do. I was also pleased that the facility is very nice.

I did the optional baby panda holding and I just wanted others to know that it is technically a baby under 2 years old but the panda was very large and you don't get to hold the panda, you get to sit next to it and put your arms around it while it's eating bamboo. You're also restricted to the areas you can touch the panda arms, shoulders, legs, top of head, back and you only get 20 seconds. The tour is also not 3 hours...the trip there and back is 3 hours, but the actual tour was about an hour and a half and it took half an hour to take photos with the panda with about 20 other people. But me being a crazy panda fan, this was totally worth it despite only having 20 seconds.

The Chengdu Panda Center tour was a fantastic experience. The tour was well organised and began before the crowds started to appear. Our English-speaking guide, Mars, was wonderful she was very friendly, told us a lot about Chengdu and answered our questions. The tour of the Panda Breeding Center in Chengdu was very, very interesting. Our guide Jenny was awesome she had a lot of information about the animals and the center itself. We went in the morning and the pandas were very mobile at that time. We particularly enjoyed seeing the babies in the incubators and also the young ones trying to crawl. We only wish they were still doing photos with the pandas, but it understandable since they don't want them to get sick. A worthwhile tour!

MARS was amazing! She got to our hotel promptly, immediately introduced herself and we started our tour. She began the tour as soon as we got into the vehicle, she briefed us on the population of China, and little a few trivial facts about this amazing province of Chengdu. Her English is excellent and demeanor charming. _br/_ When we got to the Breeding Center, she explained every stop, pointed out special things about specific pandas and was even if we know she's been there so many times, she still continued to share in our excitement especially when we got to touch the Baby Panda. We had a really wonderful experience. Worley was our guide. She was very pleasant and knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions. We were not rushed at all and had plenty of time for photos and video. Our guide and driver where waiting for us promptly at 7:30 am our the hotel lobby, and we were able to see the pandas while they were active and well before the crowds.

A great tour. Sam Yue was very helpful in rearranging my pick up. My very nice guide, Mars, had to up at 5 in the morning to make the pick up, which made me feel awful although she didn't seem to mind. She was both intelligent and very pleasant company. She went out of her way to help with my hotel. Also, she made an exceptional recommendation for some local food to try. A pork flavoured with fish thing - much much better than it sounds._br/_ So thank you, Mars and Sam!

We had an early start as we went golden week and it was the right thig to do. We got there before the crowds and it was amazing. The pandas we feeding and active got some great video. Our guide was great and knew exactly wher to go to get the best viewing.

Wow! Pandas! This was such a great experience - the early hour was important because the center grounds filled quickly and the temperature was cooler, but the pandas were so worth it! Remember that the time of year will determine what age pandas you see since they are born in late summer and by 3 months when we saw them are already fairly large adorable fuzzy balls. The grounds of the facility are lovely though it's quite a bit of walking there were cars available so if you have problems with walking, ask your guide to help you take those instead. Also several of the locations were closed, so keep in mind you won't necessarily see it all on any one visit. Our guide Sam was really well informed about the pandas and the facility and we really appreciated his insider info on where to get the best views!

Probably a must-do in Chengdu but the tour is not that interesting. A lot of walking under the rain. Bring an umbrella if potential for rain, tour doesn't have any extras. Tour doesn't omit the crowds which get especially thick when viewing the babies. Pick-up and drop-off were great. Overall ok and thankfully not too long.

Jenny,our guide,arrived on time and showed us to our clean and comfortable car. In about 30 minutes we arrived at the Breeding Center where the car park seemed empty,but as Jenny explained better to get there early and beat the rush.As we were shown around the park Jenny gave us a running commentary of what we could see and was very knowledgeable about the Center and the Pandas themselves.We saw two different lots of the baby Pandas and a lot of Pandas feeding. We were also lucky enough to see the Pandas climbing up a tree and having a bit of a fight as one didn't want to give up its spot in the tree , could have watch them all day . All in all a great day out,a big thank you to Jenny.

Tour went like clockwork, Worley, our guide, was waiting in the lobby at 7.20 and off we went. Easy trip out in a comfortable, air conditioned car, essential at this time of year, you will melt! Backstage entry into the centre, made it feel special, then on to the Pandas! My wife loved it and had been counting down by the day, it made her trip. Although brief, the Panda cuddle was amazing for her, worth every penny. Worley was an excellent guide, with great English and gave us other Chengdu tips, she loves the Pandas! It was great to have a real conversation with a Chinese resident, she taught us a lot about Chinese life, lovely girl. Once you get your head around the price, this trip is a must, if in Chengdu.

We were picked up by a private car with our lovely tour guide who spoke perfect English and told us lots about the pandas and local area. She showed us around the facilities then brought us round each panda area and explained about their personalities, the conservation project, the area etc. We then had over an hours free time to go around ourselves. Then after we were brought round the side of the conservation project, dressed in gowns and gloves and a year old panda was brought out onto a bench where we sat down beside him and put an arm round him for 30 seconds for photos. This was very expensive. If you don't absolutely love pandas then just pay for the tour. However as I am OBSESSED and this was the number 1 item on my bucket list I am more than happy to have paid it :

This tour was fabulous! Guide and driver arrived at my hotel early so they were ready to go. Smooth ride in a very comfortable air conditioned car. Guide was very friendly and spoke excellent English. Tour and time with the panda were great, the guide handled everything perfectly. Absolute must for this once in a lifetime experience. Great tour! It was a quick trip for me in Chengdu so wanted to see as much as possible. Mars, my tour guide was excellent. Really friendly and informative. The pandas were amazing, especially the babies. Make sure you go early in the morning to see them being fed and awake!

Excellent tour. Panda reserve was a lot of fun. We arrived prior to the tour buses so we were able to spend some time observing the pandas. Tour guides were great and accommodating. They were able to add a tour to the Giant Buddha without a problem and lunch. Very nice and relaxing day.
