Cordoba Flamenco Show at Tablao el Cardenal

Visit Cordoba’s Tablao el Cardenal for a night of fiery flamenco and fast-paced music! Taking place on the site of the old archbishop’s palace near Cordoba Mosque-Cathedral (Mezquita), the show features a performance by five of the city’s award-winning dancers. Enjoy a drink while watching the incredible choreography on stage.
With your entrance ticket in hand, head inside Tablao el Cardenal, a renowned Cordoba flamenco joint on the site of the old archbishop’s palace, near Cordoba Mosque-Cathedral. While flamenco is often thought to have originated in Seville, Cordoba’s flamenco scene is thriving and some of Spain’s best known dancers are from the city.
Head to the outdoor patio where your show takes place or alternatively, head inside the site’s historical auditorium if you visit during the winter months.
Order your drink from the bar and then take your seat to enjoy the show! Watch five of Cordoba’s best dancers perform a fiery flamenco on stage, exuding passion for their flamboyant form of art. All three of the essential aspects of the dance are expertly demonstrated during the show: cante, baile and guitarra (songs, dancing and guitar music). Marvel at the dancers’ quick-step footwork, and clap along to the music performed by the venue’s musicians and singers.
After the show has ended, you can stay inside the venue enjoying more drinks (own expense), if you wish.
The show was very good and we had seats in the front row. However, I couldn't help comparing it to a show we saw in Seville 2 years ago. This seemed to share all the same elements but to a lesser depth. The guitarist was very good although his explanations all in Spanish were of use to only a few in the audience.

My family and I enjoyed the show very much. The dance is intense. It would be good to tell the audience a little about the history of flamenco and how it has evolved to today for better appreciation.

The show was well organised and the Flamenco excellent in a very atmospheric setting. I would recommend it, though I could not see where you would get food or a meal as advertised in their brochure. There are however several excellent garden restaurants nearby.

I have been to Tablao el Cardenal before and when my we family joined us for the summer we put it on a must do list for them. They were not disappointed ! An excellent evening of traditional entertainment in a lovely setting. Fantastic musicians and passionate dancers. We will go again when we visit Córdoba.

The atmosphere was wonderful! In the group dances I was disappointed the dancers looked like they were just going through the motions, no passion. At the end they all did solos and that is when they shined! They each really got into it and their passion came out! I wish the whole show was like that.

The show was a two minute walk from our hotel, which was great. The seating and beverage delivery were handled very professionally. The show, though, was not quite as good as I had hoped. The guitarist was great, the singers very good, the female dancers were talented, and one of the male dancers was outstanding. But it was a bit on the touristy side, mostly offering lovely ladies in lovely dresses performing happy dances. I didn't feel much passion. And the young male dancer who appeared once first removed his jacket, then unbuttoned his shirt, then removed his tie, then pulled his shirt up, then gyrated...we were waiting to see what else would come off. The young girls in the audience loved it, but I don't consider whatever it was he was doing flamenco.

The night we were in there was quite a large group from Seville who were enthusiastic and it's normally a good indication that you are getting something well rated when the locals attend in numbers.

It was a good local show . Music was authentic so was the dancing. Like the small outdoor setting that does not require a dinner.
