Curacao Kayak and Snorkel Adventure
Curacao, Netherlands Antilles
Discover the beauty of Curacao and Caracas Bay as you paddle along the amazing coastline by kayak! View natural wonders and historical landmarks like Fort Beekenburg en route to a small beach, where you’ll find some of the best snorkeling on the island. Swim, snorkel and play in the pristine waters before making your way back to the pier.
After a safety briefing at the boat pier, climb into your kayak and follow your professional guide along the coast, paddling through crystal-clear water.
You will kayak for approximately 20 minutes on open water across Caracas Bay. While you paddle for another 20 minutes along the protected waters of the coastline, keep an eye out for cultural highlights such as Fort Beekenburg. The fort, originally built in 1703 to ward off the French and British fleets, was named after Heer van Beek who coordinated the city of Willemstad's defense.
After landing at a deserted stretch of beach — a combination of sand and coral stones — you’ll have access to some of the best snorkeling sites on the island! Renowned not only for their natural underwater beauty, these remote spots are acclaimed due to the lack of crowds.
Before kayaking back to the pier, cool off with a refreshing swim in the tropical waters. Above the beach you’ll find a manor estate, originally a quarantine hospital built in 1700 to treat ill sailors. Then enjoy an approximate 30-minute return paddle as you glide back through the water.
This was a lot of fun. The guide was excellent and very knowledgeable about the area. I had never snorkeled before, he helped me with the gear and provided tips to make this a great experience. The fish were beautiful and paddling in the open water was not as difficult as expected. I would definitely recommend.

Fun trip. Enjoyed the kayaking and the snorkelling was good. Tons of fish around the sunken tugboat. Excellent guides. They do need to update the snorkelling gear though.

The kayaking part was good, but the beach they took us to for snorkeling was terrible. It was very rocky and hurt our feet, and no flippers were provided so you had to use a life jacket. The goggles had not been cleaned prior so they gave you soap to wash them out, which then the leftover residue went into your eyes and burned.

Really nice guide and place to snorkel. To bad there is a refinery really close to the snorkel site. Still the water is really clear and there is a lot to see.

This was a great tour, however it was a bit of (fun) work!! The kayak ride to the snorkeling location was through open waters, but they do have incredibly attentive staff to help you out if you find the going too much. The snorkeling is great - loads of fish and underwater life to see!
