4-Day Top End Highlights Including Kakadu and Katherine

See all the highlights of northern Australia’s remarkable Top End on a 4-day tour of Kakadu and Katherine. Visit UNESCO World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park, Nitmiluk National Park and Litchfield National Park; cruise on the Mary River wetlands, view ancient Aboriginal rock art sites and the majesty of Gunlom Falls, and canoe through the Katherine Gorge. You’ll also swim in pristine rock pools at Edith Falls, Mataranka Hot Springs, Buley Rockhole and Wangi Falls, and go underground at Cutta Cutta Caves. This small-group tour, limited to 16 people, includes a knowledgeable driver guide, accommodation, meals, transportation and admission fees.
Delve into the many natural wonders of the Top End and travel by air-conditioned 4WD-vehicle with an expert guide who shares informative commentary about the wildlife, history and natural environment.
You’ll stay overnight in basic resorts with bungalow and permanent tent accommodations located in pretty tree-shaded campground settings with picnic areas, barbecue or fire pits, and shared bathroom facilities. This tour is suitable for people with a moderate level of fitness who enjoy walking and swimming in natural settings. Includes all meals, transportation and lots of outdoor fun.
In a nutshell - an interesting tour of four parks covering 1500kms of road. On the plus side, several beautiful places like wetlands/Mary river, Ubirr art site/lookout, Katherine/river cruise. On the down side, a guide who liked the wetlands but had no interest in customers (and with a hugely irritating schoolmasterly attitude), a lot of non-stop driving without any effortto enrich the tour with further infos or short stops (in spite of small group), a ridiculous lunch on day 3. Overall, considering the high price, the tour is falling far short of other tours who really seek to maximise the experience. Guide a real disappointment.

Could not fault the tour or the attractions but the guide was completely useless drove way below the speed limit all the time so many areas were we stopped for meals, sightseeing or for swims were cut short one area promised on the tour for a swim never happened returning from the Katherine gorge dinner cruise he got lost and drove around for over a half hour before he found the main road again.

Absolutely wonderful. From fabulous wetlands tour with Scotty to the knowledge of Stefanie our guide. Small group so really ideal from the 88 year old to the young 20s - something for all. The beauty amazing.

We really enjoyed the tour and Rob, our tour guide/driver, was outstanding. His knowledge of the history, culture, people and wildlife was entertaining as well as informative. We were able to see and experience so much in such a short time.

We enjoyed the tour overall. Loved Katherine and Kakadu. Litchfield probably appeals more to younger people. The days were a bit too long with too little time to rest before dinner e.g. 20 minutes to get changed

This was one of the best tours we have experienced anywhere in the world. _br/_
Our guide Rob was friendly, helpful and above all highly informative. His knowledge added greatly to the whole experience. From a billabong with crocs and many different birds and vegetation to the aboriginal rock paintings to the evening spent on the dinner boat through the wonderful scenery and swimming in the rock pools the whole trip was very good._br/_
Great trip for all ages but perhaps not for those that cannot easily scramble over rocks and paths. .

We had the most magnificent tour seeing the wonderful sights of Kakadu, Katherine and Litchfield. Rob, our tour guide, was very passionate about this tour and his enthusiasm infected all of the 15 passengers on board this mini-4WD-coach. You have to do/see it to believe it. Fantastic!

I was looking forward to this tour and it did not disappoint me. I was amazed how much we saw in 3 days. It was a nice mix of driving, hiking and sightseeing. I appreciated all the information our tour guide gave us. The top end of Australia is an amazing countryside quite different from what I imagined. I liked traveling as a small group, there were just 9 of us plus our guide, and the hotels too were nice. The evening dinner cruise was perfect. Rob, our guide was cheerful and extremely helpful. I had a thoroughly enjoyable trip.

The driver / guide was wonderful..This tour had the potential to be excellent..however two factors failed to meet our expectation._br/_
The 'Luxury coach' ended up being a Mitsubishi 21 seater minibus .Our knees were jammed hard against the seat in front with no arm rest or reclining seat back. I suspect the tour may have been overbooked and the overflow placed in the minibus , as We appeared to be following a luxury APT/AAT Kings coach to most venues ._br/_
Hawke Dreaming wonderful Camp ...All Seasons -Katherine was cockroach ridden and were given our room key to find mess from previous guests as the room had not been touched. Obviously an oversight. Itinerary said breakfast included but we had to pay for it._br/_
Certainly should not be called a 'first class' Hotel. Katherine Gorge sunset dinner cruise was excellent also all the other venues. Would do something similar again in the right transport.

This trip was probably the best we have ever taken. The driver / guide, Max, was wonderful. His knowledge of the area and sites was remarkable, such that I at first thought he was playing a recording, but no, it was just his obvious love of the region that came over in his commentaries. The Crocodile Hotel was excellent, especially the evening buffet, which we felt was good value for money. The All Seasons hotel /lodge was adequate but was obviously showing signs of tiredness. The sheets were clean but were not sparkling white and had little holes in them. The river cruise along The Katherine river, and the buffet supper, were amazing. Overall though it was a brilliant tour and really added to our once in a lifetime trip round Australia and has given us some wonderful memories to look back on now we are back in the cold, wet UK. Thank you.
