Explore the historic town of Beaune — Burgundy's wine capital — with a guide, and gain insight into the region’s rich winemaking heritage. Visit the cellars of a local winery, and sample some of the Premier and Grand Cru red and white wines in production. Enjoy free time to stroll the streets of Beaune at your leisure and enjoy personal attention from your guide on this small-group tour, limited to eight people.
Meet your guide in the morning near the train station in Dijon and take a seat in your air-conditioned minivan. Then, head off into rural Burgundy — where lush vineyards line the rolling hillsides. Along the way, admire sweeping views over the Corton Grand Cru region in beautiful Côte de Beaune.
First, explore the pretty town of Beaune as your guide sheds light on the region’s winemaking traditions and history. Stroll along winding, cobbled streets where life ticks past at a relaxing pace, and soak up the atmosphere in this impossibly beautiful corner of central France.
Next, visit the cellars of a local boutique winery, where a variety of vintages lie slowly maturing in gigantic oak barrels. Sample some of the delicate Premier Cru and Grand Cru red and white wines in production at the winery, and gain insight into the complex flavors in your glass.
Explore Beaune further at your leisure during free time, and maybe try other local produce such as blackcurrant liquor, spiced honey cake or aniseed candy. Perhaps visit La Moutarderie Fallot (own expense) — where delicious Burgundy mustard is made — and sample some of the diverse mustards in production. Then, return to your starting point in Dijon to conclude your tour.
The trip includes 2 wineries and plenty of free time in Beaune for lunch and shopping or sightseeing. Our guide Ann was very knowledgeable about the area and the wines. Very personal experience. Excellent guide was informative and entertaining. Got to see vineyards, wine cellars, and the beautiful city of Beaune up close and personal. Interacted with growers and towns people. Fun filled day of learning and social enjoyment.

Very educational, whether you know a lot about wine or only a little. I give it four stars instead of five because a I would've liked one more tasting three rather than just two, and b our guide, though knowledgable and delightful, spent a bit too much time flirting with the full-of-themselves young ladies from Singapore. You can't choose your fellow tourers of course, but this was a little off-putting. Otherwise, thoroughly enjoyable and well worth the price.

This a great way to get real good info and access to wineries. And of course to taste wines. The guide was excellent- very knowledgeable, humorous, and a good commuicator (a Frenchman who spoke perfect English). If you’re visiting the area I recommend doing this tour!

Excellent tour! It started with our guide Stephen who was very knowledgeable about the region, the wineries and the wines. The fact that we were a small group of 8 people was, in my opinion, also a plus. I have to reservations about recommending this tour to anyone who wants to learn about the Bourgogne don't call it Burgundy region, it's history and it's very good wines.

We got to try many great wines and had a decent amount of free time in Beaune to get lunch and explore the town. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The small size made it easy to get to know our other tour-goers. I would recommend this tour!

It was great fun. Emmanuel very efficiently managed our two wine tastings and the tours around the vineyards. He was very knowledgeable and able to clearly explain aspects of growing grapes and assessing wines. I now understand what a French wine label conveys about the origin and quality of the wine. I also now understand more about the importance and complexity of the acidity, tannin and overall impression. The look, the smell and the taste are all parts of the experience. Definitely recommend to other travellers

Yesterday's wine tour was exceptional. Our guide, Valentine, is a young man who is clearly passionate and very knowledgeable about both wine growing and and production. He worked in the fields and production lines of two local wineries while in college, fell in love with wine making and became a sommelier. He's working as a tour guide to further his dream of having his own winery.

This was a full day tour. The guide - Stephane was absolutely fabulous. He was knowledgable and very friendly and informative - the day went by very quickly and it could have lasted much longer we had such a great time. The 2 wineries we visited were tremendous, especially Bouchard Aine and Fils which was definitely the best of the 2. We had sufficient time for lunch and a leisurely stroll through Beaune. All in all, I would highly recommend this tour.

A great way to spend 7 hours and see parts of Brugundy. Ivan, our guide, was knowledgeable and interesting. Knowin all the back roads alone was worth his guidance. The day was dreary and wet, but the VW van was clean and comfortable accommodating 6 of us easily. We tasted 11 wines at two different wineries in two different parts of the region and visited iconic vineyards as well.

Amazing tour with a very knowledgeable tour guide. Thank you Nick for all your insights. Dijon has a great system for tours and easy to find. _br/_ This wine tasting was exceptional. We learned about their appellation system and much of its history. We visited a large establishment during harvest time so we got to see grapes for crushing delivered. We also visited a small vintner and tasted grand and premier crus. Here we were able to observe grapes being hand picked while seeing Château de Gevrey-Chambertin._br/_ Toured the countryside and had time to walk around Beaune and to eat lunch in a beautiful cafe. Great tour for beginners and for experienced wine tasters.

Our guide guide, Stevie was great and informative. I enjoyed his commentary and personality. The first winery went to was nice, but the white wine was not cold I would have expected wine to have been served at the proper temperature. The stop for lunch was lovely. The second winery we went to was better and I enjoyed the tour through the winery.

EXCELLENT TOUR! Valentin was an excellent host, imparting us with much knowledge aboutthe rwine make/ing process, the care of the vines, how wines are procduced, what tolook for in a wine, history of the region, how to read a wine label, and how to properly taste and appreciate the wine itself. I highly recommend this tour - especially if you can secure Valentin as your guide!

Our tour guide Sophie was very knowledgeable of the area and the wine. The tour covered all the areas expected and was run on a timely basis. We tasted some superb wines and at each stop they were presented with background information about the vineyard and the winemaking process. Hubert was wonderful. He took us to a vineyard and showed us the vines, and how they grow, and are cultivated. It was a very informative tour, we learned a lot, saw gorgeous countryside, drank some excellent wine. We could never have seen everything that we did if we had attempted this on our own.

This tour was fantastic, the guide was so knowledgable about wine, he had actually grown up in a wine producing family. He also spoke fantastic English which was a bonus in dijon. The country side he took us through was beautiful and there was no pressure at the end of the tastings to buy the wines. One negative we found it very difficult based on the instructions we got to find the pick up location, and were madly running around for 45 minutes looking for it - we actually walked pasts it several times but did not realise that that was the location. So extra location information like: behind the bus depo, wait at the purple signs would have been very good. Also we missed getting to see the mustard shop at our stop as we did not realise that this was where it was-we thought it was later in the tour.

We met up with Valentine, our guide, at the designated pick up point near Dijon train station and joined a small group of 6 other tour members. Valentine is an extremely knowledgeable guide having spent much of his life studying wines he is a qualified somelier and working in the fields at well known domaines during harvesting. This was the most educational and perhaps most interesting of the 4 wine tours I experienced in Burgundy over the week I spent in Beaune and Dijon. The day weaved beautifully between tastings and field visits we were lucky with the weather. If I had more time I would have done this same tour all over again with Valentine. It was like getting a high level wine appreciating and tasting lesson with a wonderful field visit all in one! The day covers much of the Cote de Beaune and the Cote de Nuit stretching from the north to the south and back again. You will learn a lot about the myriad terroirs as well as sample their delectable outcomes in this most venerated wine producing region of the world. I highly recommend this tour.
