The resistance to colonial rule in Southern Africa reached a climax when the British colonial powers deployed a force larger than the force that they used to conquer the continent of India, in their effort to destroy the Zulu Kingdom. A full-scale war took place to destroy the old Zulu order, and to subjugate the Zulu nation. It was King Cetshwayo ka Mpande, whose regiments, led by Ntshingwayo kaMahole Khoza, took on the mighty British forces, led by Lord Chelmsford. The tour was excellent with a very knowledgable guide who brought the whole experience to life. The tour however was very long in excess of twelve hours and this has to be considered. However for those interested in the history of the Zulu wars the trip is well worth it.
