2-Day Fraser Island Tour from Hervey Bay

Fraser Island, Australia

Soak up the incredible natural beauty of World Heritage-listed Fraser Island. You’ll walk scenic trails at Central Station, Wanggoolba Creek, Pile Valley, and the Hammerstone Sandblow, and dip into sparkling waters at Lake McKenzie, Eli Creek, Champagne Pools and Lake Wabby. Drive down Seventy-Five Mile Beach to the Pinnacles and Maheno shipwreck, staying overnight at a beach resort along the way. You'll travel with a knowledgeable local guide and have plenty of time for swimming and exploring as you experience Fraser Island’s treasures on this two-day tour.

Named K’Gari (paradise) by the local Aborigines, Fraser Island is a place unlike any other. Created over the millennia from sand drifting off of mainland Australia, Fraser Island is the largest sand island in the world and the only place where rainforest grows in sand. With more than 100 pristine freshwater lakes, numerous creeks, giant sand dunes and extensive rainforest, you’ll have plenty to explore on your 2-day trip.

You’ll stay overnight at Eurong Beach Resort located on Seventy-Five Mile beach with apartment-style accommodation in a shared quad room. The resort has two swimming pools, two bars, and a cafe where you can relax after a day of exploring. One breakfast, two lunches and a dinner are included.

Bref, beaucoup d'insatisfactions..

Great activity! Josh was a great guide. Accommodations and food was good. We saw whales and dingos and lots of flora in the rainforest. What a diverse island! Bus ride through island almost as fun as a Disney ride!

This was the best tour I have done in a long time. We were lucky enough to have both Cameron and Warren as guides who were excellent. Their knowledge and history of the island was amazing. The places visited over the 2 days were varied and interesting. The resort comfortable with good food. Do yourselves a favour and go on this fantastic tour!

This was a fabulous trip - David Dave Dun was a great host and driver and kept us all entertained with lots of stories, history, fun facts, food, refreshments, floating tyres and wildlife awareness. Be warned the bus does move about quite a bit as it negotiates the sand tracks and 75 mile beach but it is a fascinating, unique, memorable place and I'd highly recommend a visit - be prepared to be tired afterwards - it isn't what I'd call relaxing although swimming in Lake Mackenzie was stunning._br/_ Sadly the overnight on island resort didn't live up the rest of the trip the food was disappointing and the place had the feel of an abandoned 1950's holiday camp that had seen the odd coat of paint but not much else since. A nice pool but generally quite run down this was highlighted by a large pane of window glass falling into the restaurant during dinner and breaking over the head of one of our tour group, very fortunately she and her table guest only suffered cuts but it could have been much worse. The first aid offered was lacking in competency and my family who are first aid trained stood in to correct some of the erroneous advice given._br/_ My family did the beach take off and landing plane ride which was spectacular, giving a great view and appreciation of who large the island is._br/_ Overall I'd highly recommend the trip but advise checking on where you will be staying and sit away from the windows in the restaurant!

If you only go on 1 tour in the rest of your life make sure it is this one! Fraser Island is the single most amazing place in Australia, Lake McKenzie, Lake Wabby, Champagne Pools are all breathtaking, especially Lake McKenzie! The resort is lovely with nice staff and a glorious location, the main highway is along the 75km beach! Then to top it off you can lie on the beach at night and marvel at the wonders of the stars, just breathtaking. The guide turned out to be more of a coach driver, but he's a very good driver but be careful not to stand up when the vehicle is moving, it's a bumpy ride!

This was the highlight of our month of travelling in Australia which included 6 tours all booked via Viator. Our Tour Guide Hayden made the trip, a real asset to his employer he was outstanding and really made the whole trip for us.

Really great tour with an awesome guide. Felt very safe and taken care of during the trip. The only thing I want to warn about is that I think this tour company attracts older people as I am 22 years old and I was the youngest on the tour by at least 7-10 years.

Only thing I did not like was having no WIFI at the hotel we were staying at. It was an outrageous price if you wanted to get it.

I met lots of great people. We got to see lots of things and got a couple of extra stops as well. Unfortunately we couldn't see one of the lakes because the Dingoes had taken it over but that wasn't the tours fault. Our driver was well experienced, had a lot of knowledge and was hilarious.

Absolutely amazing. Butch was a superb driver and host and his knowledge was fantastic, picking out the best bits but not droning on for hours. Boomerang demo was great as well.

Great 2 day tour through Fraser Island with a great tour guide. The guide knew everything about Frase r Island and was a good driver. This is an beautiful island and a definitely a must see when travelling through Australia. Beach resort was good with clean rooms and big buffet with a lot of choise.

Excellent tour. Amazing way to see the island without having to worry about how to drive on sand. Optional aeroplane flight was a must to see the true size of the island. Will definitely come back. Highly recommend this tour. Bring reef walking shoes as lots of walking in sand

This was one of the best things we did in Australia. We did everything we were told we would. There was no rush despite seeing so much and no pressure to do anything. The swimming opportunities should not be missed and the water was not as cold as expected. The transport was good, the guides excellent and the food provided very good and plentiful. Fraser Island is a real adventure and should not be missed. Excellent value for money. Trisch UK

Driver is of great humor, nice guy, tour trip great, see most parts of island, catch the little planes is great, cost 75instead of 200 normal price. The food and living condition is four star, can't expect higher on the island. Great vegetarian food for us

Most activities were fun but in a bit of a rush with guide giving somewhat poor instructions. Food , accommodation and facilities were good but lacked atmosphere. Nil entertainment.

Itinerary handed out at beginning would have been good. Lunch on second day[food good] sitting in hot sun [no shade] around rocks where people had been urinating was not pleasant. Tour guide was excellent and overall was great .

Great tour! Warren with Fraser tours was experienced friendly and an all round great guide. Fraser tours own most accommodations in Fraser so everything was very spacious and comfortable. The rainforest part would of been a great part to give us extra info on the canopy overall 8.4 great tour!!

This was an excellent tour. The island is amazingly diverse and the tour took in all of it. The highlight had to be swimming in the beautiful lake after a hard trek up a hot sandy trail and over the sand dunes . The accommodation and food were good and plentiful. The tour guide/driver was very enthusiastic and informative and a really good driver over the rough terrain. I would highly recommend this tour.
