Cinque Terre Winery Tour in Manarola

Manarola, Italy

Discover the age-old winemaking traditions of Manarola in Italy’s Cinque Terre region on this 2.5-hour tour. Amble among vineyards, enjoy stunning views over the Ligurian Sea, and sip on regional wines during a tasting session near the beautiful 14th-century village. If you’re traveling from Genoa, upgrade to receive round-trip transport. Numbers are limited to 10 to ensure a personalized experience.

Meet your guide in Manarola, one of a handful of towns that make up Cinque Terre, a registered national park and UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its vineyards and olive groves. Hear about the area’s rich history and long-held traditions in agriculture and fishing as you pass beautiful pastel-colored houses on the way out to surrounding vineyards along the Ligurian coastline.

Make your first stop at a local wine cellar. Gain an understanding of what differentiates these wines from others across Italy and feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Continue onward to explore row after row of grape-laden vineyards outside the town, and enjoy stunning views over the Liguria coastline from a hilltop vantage point. Take the time to capture this spectacular landscape on camera, and perhaps pose for a photo or two among the vines!

Leave the views and vineyards behind you and head off to the highlight of the tour: a tasting session that includes focaccia bread. Sip on several varieties as you learn about the complex flavors of the grapes. If you like what you taste, buy some of your favorites from the region.

After 2.5 hours, your tour will conclude back near your meeting point in Manarola.

This tour was great! We ended up being the only 2 that day, and it was really interesting to be able to see the winery in this unique environment. There was a good bit of hiking, so keep that in mind if you are going to book it. Totally worth the views though!

This was my eighth of 9 events that I scheduled with Viator on my European vacation to Italy, Spain and France. After getting off the ship, I was hoping to take a 20 minute stroll over to the La Spezia train station. Again easier said than done in my opinion. Its mostly an industrial area not really suitable for walking. Although I've read that some have done it. At any rate, no time to waste figuring out how they did it. Therefore, we took the free shuttle to the end of the port. This is about 5 - 8 minute ride. Then from there we took a 15 euro taxi ride to La Spezia train station. They say it's a set price maybe just the tourist price. Anyway, we took the train to Manarola about a 10 minute ride although the train waited about 15 minutes before pulling off. Incidentally, there are 2 window stations. One is for buying a train pass to see all 5 villages - 16 euro per person. The other entrance on the right is simply for purchasing 1 day tickets at 8 euro roundtrip for each person to one village which in our case was Manarola. Also keep in mind, you are actually purchasing 2 tickets 1 for going and 1 for returning. The roundtrip doesn't mean 1 ticket Important Tip All tickets MUST BE VALIDATED USING THE GREEN and WHITE MACHINES BEFORE BOARDING THE TRAIN or there will be hefty fines like 50 200 euros to be paid on the spot. Our tour guide met us right on time in front of Aristide restaurant as indicated. Although we were there 10 minutes early as stated on the voucher which was not a problem. It was only my husband, the guide and myself, so the tour took only a little over an 1 hr. not the full 2.5 hrs. as indicated. We definitely felt we got our monies worth even though it was a shorter tour than expected. This is a beautiful tour with incredible views, but keep in mind that you are walking up a mountain with a narrow and steep walkway. So as another reviewer stated, this may not be a suitable tour for the elderly. Now, heading home

This was a wonderful afternoon tour. The winemaker meets you and takes you on a walk through the vineyards where he explains the culture and history of Manarola. You hear his personal story, and at the end you get to taste the fruits of his labor! Great with teens! Highly recommend!

This tour was a great way to start out our time in Manarola. We got to see the beautiful area and learn about everything that goes into making wine in the Cinque Terre region. The overview said to be there 15 minutes early but our tour guide didn't get there until exactly 3:30. We also only got to taste one glass of wine each. The description said that it would be 2-3. None the less, a great experience!

This was a small tour, which I liked, as it was very personal. The tour guide was very nice and informative, and I appreciated his heartfelt explanations of the life in Cinque Terre and their efforts to preserve it. The vineyards were beautiful, as were the views! I learned a lot while thouroughly enjoying the setting. Lovely wine tasting at the end!

Our guide Alessandro, was very helpful in explaining the difficulty in growing grapes in such terrain. After that explanation we had sample some of his very good wine. The only problem, was the waiting time. The paper says, to wait outside the Ristorante Aristide. We waited for 15 minutes, then they told us to ask for Alessandro inside the restaurant._br/_ The views of the Ligurian coast was very beautiful!

The tour was not what I expected but amazing none the less. It is a walking tour that is very strenuous for anyone who is not used to walking up steep hills. This was difficult for my father. The tour guide was so interesting and knowledgable it gave me so much insight about wine and Italy in genera
