Before you set off, listen to a brief how-to session from your guide as they explain the manual settings on your camera and how to use them to achieve brilliant effects.

Head to a viewpoint and snap panoramic views of the city. Then, walk along pretty alleyways, squares and canals to capture the twilight scenes as your guide offers insider tips on using your shutter speed, aperture and ISO settings to master the low light. Discover how to play with light using LED lights, torches and other tools, too. As the road and traffic lights flicker on, you’ll find inspiration at almost every turn.

Then, take shots of the major landmarks, such as the modern Gothenburg Opera House and bustling Avenyn, the main boulevard. Record the light shining on the Vallgraven moat and head into the Old Town to capture Gustav Adolfs Torg (Gustaf Adolf Square) and the illuminated Feskekörka fish market reflected in the moat’s waters.
