Meet your guide, a professional photographer, in central Gothenburg before first light. If you want to take photos, come armed with your DLSR, compact camera or smartphone. Then, walk through the empty streets of Gothenburg to Slottsskogen, the beautiful park just outside the city center.

This idyllic green oasis is where locals come to relax and is home to swathes of natural forest inhabited by wild deer, hares, wading birds and owls, and creatures such as bullfrogs and salamanders.

Arrive in the park and follow the picturesque forest trails. One reason for the early start is to capture the magical first light, but it is also to heighten the chances of seeing wildlife, with many of the animals emerging to feed and forage just before dawn.

Follow your guide and walk slowly and silently, so as not to disturb the wildlife. As you go, absorb the stunning setting and listen to whispered tips on how to take the best photos of what you see. As you eat, relish the views over Gothenburg as the sun rises above the city’s spires and rooftops.

After breakfast, continue your walk and return to the city center where your tour finishes.
