Historical Granada Sightseeing Tour
Granada, Spain
Immerse yourself in Granada's rich history on this informative sightseeing tour of the city as you meander through the old quarter of Albaycin, visit the Royal chapel and cathedral and admire the breathtaking views of Alhambra, Granada and Sierra Nevada from the vantage point at the Mirador de San Nicholas.
Your tour begins by visiting the Royal Chapel commissioned by the Catholic Monarchs and built in flamboyant Gothic style. Here you will find the mausoleums of Isabel and Ferdinand and their children Phillip "The Beautiful" and Joan "The Mad". The cathedral stands next to the chapel and is considered as the first renaissance church in Spain.
Granada is filled with rich history, and this tour brought to life key events and figures that I'd learned of back in my high school history class. Victor is a great guide, able to keep your attention with great storytelling and humor. This tour covers a lot of ground and is a great way to be introduced to this beautiful city.

Did not like that trip was in to languages to accommodate 2 groups. Makes tour confusing and longer. 1 group did not complete tour Gide gave us an excellent 1 on 1 of remaining tour. Need to remove cathedral and capilla this should be a tour by its self

Victor was on time picking us up. He was a very personable and knowledgeable guide, who was passionate about his city. We would highly recommend him. There was a wide variety of historical sites all of which added tremendous value to our stay. Victor even took time out to recommend and point out restaurants and other points of interest.

Really went to the heart of the old neighborhood and our guide was not only knowledgeable but showed the right appreciation and reverence for the culture and people who lived there for so many centuries.

This was an excellent tour as to our great surprise we were the only couple booked on it so we had the undivided attention of the tour guide, who answered all our questions, and also of the courteous car driver who picked us up at our hotel as arranged. Thank you for not cancelling our booking because of poor takeup! We learnt a lot and as it was our last day in Granada, we had had time to think of plenty to ask.

Our Historical Granada Sightseeing tour had about 6-7 people. I and my husband were the non-Spanish speaking couple in the group and the rest were Spanish speaking people from Puerto Rico. So the tour guide, Victor, decided to speak in Spanish first for the benefit of the Spanish speaking people and translate later in English for us. Unfortunately the tour guide's interpretations of the sights in Spanish were much detailed and quite lengthy compared to the English version which was very, very brief. I could figure it out based on the length of the guide's monologue. This was very disappointing. Few times we even asked the guide some questions and he brushed us off saying he had to cover the material in the assigned time. So all in all, I and my husband felt quite neglected.

Wow! This tour convinced me that your company is superb! I realized when we arrived at our hotel, minutes before the tour was scheduled to begin, that I had not confirmed the tour in advance. I frantically tried to reach the tour operators, to no avail, when our driver suddenly appeared ready to take us to our destination! We learned more about Granada in this four-hour late afternoon tour than we learned in the remaining 36 hours of our stay! Not only were the cathedral and monastery beautiful, but the history imparted to us has piqued my curiosity to learn much more about Ferdinand and Isabella and the Christian "conquest" of the Muslims. And, the old world charm of the Muslim quarter is indescribable. This section of town is "off the beaten path" and we would never have been aware of its existence had it not been included on this tour.

It was well organized. The bus pickup us up on time. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and information delivered in a pleasant way - not too much details and many dates.
