Arizona Highlights Day Trip: Antelope Canyon, Lake Powell, and Glen Canyon with River Rafting

Grand Canyon National Park, United States of America

Your daylong expedition starts at the Grand Canyon Airport (South Rim) with a 1-hour plane ride over the Grand Canyon's East Rim, the Colorado River, and Lake Powell. Then receive a picnic-style lunch and board your motorized raft to float 15.5 miles (25 km) along the Colorado River through Glen Canyon as your guide talks about the history and geology of the area. A 30-minute hike and continental breakfast are also included.

Begin at the Grand Canyon Airport for your 1-hour plane flight over the Grand Canyon's East Rim, the Colorado River, and Lake Powell. You can choose to fill up with a nourishing breakfast of muffins, yogurt, a fruit cup, granola bar, string cheese and juice before or after the 140-mile (225-km) flight from the Grand Canyon to Page, Arizona.

Touch down in Page to meet your Navajo guide at the airport. Travel by 4WD vehicle to Antelope Canyon, a popular destination on Navajo land. During your 1.5-hour tour, capture photos of the smooth, striated red walls of this slot canyon formed by water rushing through rock.

After soaking up Antelope Canyon geological wonders, ride through a 2-mile (3.2 km) tunnel in your 4WD vehicle to reach the starting point for your rafting trip. Receive a picnic-style lunch in a souvenir soft-sided cooler bag you can take with you after the tour. Once you refuel, board your motorized raft to float 15.5 miles (25 km) along the Colorado River through Glen Canyon as your guide talks about the history and geology of the area.

During your mellow 4.5-hour rafting trip, stop for an easy 30-minute hike to view petroglyphs carved out in nearby rocks by ancient peoples. If necessary, take a second break to use restroom facilities. Your raft ride concludes at Lees Ferry, a former ferry crossing and military outpost situated in Glen Canyon Recreation Area. Here, board a motorcoach or van for the 3.5-hour drive back to the Grand Canyon. En route, pass through Navajo Nation land and stop at Cameron Trading Post to shop for local crafts.

Your 12.5-hour experience of some of Arizona's most spectacular scenery ends at the Grand Canyon National Park Airport.

We had the most amazing day! Started with a fantastic flight over the Grand Canyon and it was totally amazing seeing it from above : The plane was very small with 9 passengers so we all had a window seat to see the different areas of the canyon.

Amazing full day trip! Our family of four had a rough start early morning3am since we needed to be at the Grand Canyon Airport at 5:30-6am and we were staying in Sedona, two and a half hours away. But it proved to be well worth it. After check in, they give everyone their breakfast box which really contained well thought out awesome food. Then off we go onto the plane! The Grand Canyon Navajo east end of canyon at daybreak was a wonderous thing to see. The pilot flew right over Horseshoe bend. Great photo ops! The left side of the plane is the place to sit if you can for the best photos. People sitting on the right side of the plane didn't even get to see Horseshoe bend. We flew over Glen Canyon dam as well -in the air about an hour-and landed at Page Arizona airport. From there a Navajo guide picked us up and transported our group to the entrance of Antelope Canyon. Antelope canyon is one thing you need to experience in your life. Beautiful! The walls, the light make for beautiful strange pictures. Use your iphone or android on chrome setting . Our guide showed us how to use the phone to take pictures worthy of National Geographic. My expensive camera didn't do half as well. The excursion gets you to Antelope canyon right at the start of the day which is awesome-way less people to get in the way. By the time our group left, a hundred people were lining up to go thru. After Antelope Canyon we were transported back to the rafting co. We were given our box lunches as we got on the bus and were taken through a 2 mile tunnel to the raft launch site near the base of Glen Canyon dam. After we loaded up, and met our guides, we proceeded s-l-o-w-l-y down the Colorado river. Lots of awesome rock formations and you also get to raft through Horseshoe bend since you flew over it first thing in the morning There are a couple of stops where you can swim in the 42 degree water if you wish there are also outhouses available The raft trip, my family felt, was about two hours too long. After the beautiful raft trip, we are all loaded onto buses to make the 3 1/2 hour journey back to the Grand Canyon airport. Its a beautiful drive and we did stop at Cameron Trading Co where they gave us only 30 min I was like a madwoman trying to grab things - -I love to shop. Back on board the bus, the driver put a great informative film on about river rafting the Colorado and we eventually got back to our car about 6pm. All in all, even though it was a long day, it was awesome and money well spent.

This tour gives you an incredible perspective of the Grand Canyon! From the birds eye view from the air to the beautiful Antelope Cavern to the float through the canyon on the usually calm Colorado River before the white water. A thunderstorm came up while on the river and while we were pelted with icy cold rain/hail and wind - enough so our guide had to beach the raft for safety - we later saw the rare waterfalls in the canyon at every turn!

This trip was truly the highlight of our Arizona vacation. The early morning flight over the canyon took our breath away. Antelope Canyon was amazing and the rafting trip was a delight. Our guides were all super friendly and helpful, especially Nate on our rafting trip- he kept us entertained all afternoon! Every detail is attended to from food and water to scheduled pick ups. I would recommend this trip to anyone who has a whole day available- you get to experience the canyons from all angles- truly a unique adventure!

My family had the best time on this tour! The morning flight was beautiful, the Antelope Canyon tour was one of the most unique and amazing experiences of all and the smooth water tour was great too. Dress in layers since the rafting began hot and rained the last hour. It was a wonderful trip!

Wow. It was a total emersion into the Grand Canyon area. The plane flight around and into the canyon was absolutely breathtaking. The pilot was wonderful, informative, funny and made the flight to incredibly smooth. My wife is usually apprehensive about flying, especially small planes, but she was very comfortable and confident. _br/_ Antelope Canyon was unbelievable. I always thought the photos were photoshopped or filtered. No, it's very real. DO NOT MISS THIS!!! The Navaho guide was beyond wonderful. He was highly personable and informative. He showed us how to get the most amazing pictures and pointed out such cool sights. Be sure to tip him. It is so worth it!_br/_ The boat ride down the Colorado was fabulous. You have seen it from above on the plane, now see it from below from the water. The guide was very personable, funny and very informative. We even took a swim in the clear but chilly water. Took 2 stops for bathroom breaks and exploring. Saw really cool petroglyphs. The only down side was that it was a bit too long and very hot in the unshaded boat. We frequently stopped on the river for conversation and explanations but it became exhausting after a couple of hours in the heat. It would have been better to keep moving to stay cooler and shorten the length tired butts. I would still highly recommend it.

This was a great tour of some of the most magnificent sites we have ever seen. There were just a couple of small glitches in the technology. My head set on the plane did not have any volume to it so I could not hear the narration of the air tour over the canyons. It was still breathtaking and pictures can not do it justice. The Antelope canyon tour was really fast and crowded but still and incredible site to see. One of God's true masterpieces for sure. The worst part of the trip is getting back to the Grand Canyon airport on the bus. It is comfortable and they do play a video about the River Runners but there should be an option to fly back to save time. Ending the trip like this takes a little of the flare away in my opinion. Have to give it 4 stars just because the natural beauty is so breath taking that I can't discount that any. The rest of the trip is on man and you can't always count on that.

we had a fantastic day! The raft trip with our guide, Brad, was the highlight of our Arizona vacation. Be sure to dress in layers as the temperature changes depending on whether you are at the top of the Canyon or on the water at the bottom of the Canyon.

Wonderful program. Spectacular views and a flight over the Grand Canyon. Very knowledgable and helpful travel guides answering all questions and making sure everybody is happy. A long drive home finally, but can't be avoided. I enjoyed every part of it.

This was an amazing way to truly experience the Grand Canyon. When you fly over the Grand Canyon you are hypnotized by its beauty and vastness. The pilot was well versed in the history and landmarks of the area and was adept at flying the small plane. Then taking a bouncy open air jeep ride the Antelope Canyon is fun and adventurous. The guide at was fantastic at showing us how to position ourselves to take the most breathtaking photographs while inside the slot canyon. The raft ride along Glenn Canyon was beautiful and relaxing. Our river guide was extremely engaging and could answer any question that we had. We were hesitate to spend the money for the package and felt that it was about the best money that we spent on the entire trip. It was great!

The tour itself was amazing! However our party of 3 was split up and my Dad couldnt do the flight or Antelope Canyon as he was told the plane was full so he had to get the coach. We got on the plane to find a spare seat next to me!! Souvineer coolers were never supplied as stated in tour description

Would definitely recommend, it's an excellent day trip where you can experience the Antelope and Glen Canyon and see things you can only find here. The organisation and timing was perfect, we had great time and good fun on the boat too.

If you only have one day to see the Grand Canyon, this is the only way to do it. It's a long day but worth it. We stayed in Flagstaff and drove to the airport at the South Rim in the morning. The flight over the canyon was amazing, and gives you a great feel for the scale of the canyon. We were picked up at the airport in Page by "Henry" our guide and taken to Antelope Canyon. It was great getting there so early because there were little to no crowds yet. It get's very crowded later in the day. After that we were taken by motor coach to the Glenn Canyon dam were we caught the raft. Seeing the canyon from the air and water level was truly amazing, and "Laura" our guide was terrific. One other reason we took this trip was becuase we took my 70 year old mother-in-law with us. She was able to navigate the plane and raft ride just fine. My only tip is take plenty of sunscreen and hats on the raft ride.
