Grand Canyon Landmarks Tour by Airplane

Grand Canyon National Park, United States of America

See some of the most striking scenery the Grand Canyon has to offer on this morning or afternoon fixed-wing airplane flight. Soar over the eastern part of the canyon, admiring Zuni Point, the Desert View Watchtower, Point Imperial, the Painted Desert and the Kaibab National Forest. Take advantage of once-in-a-lifetime photo opportunities as in-flight narration provides facts, figures and historical anecdotes about the sights you see. This scenery-packed tour provides an excellent overview of the Grand Canyon in a short amount of time.

Set off from Grand Canyon National Park Airport on your morning or afternoon airplane tour of Grand Canyon landmarks. As you ride aboard a comfortable Vistaliner plane with panoramic windows, listen to narration about the geologic forces that helped create the dramatic canyon and surrounding terrain and the various peoples who have lived there.

Keep your camera ready as you fly over Zuni Point — one of the few lookouts on the South Rim without a road or trail — and marvel at the crimson canyon and plateau covered with cacti. Continue through the Zuni Corridor and see the confluence of the Colorado and Little Colorado rivers.

Get a closer look at the Desert View Watchtower, a popular vista point on the South Rim, and glimpse the gorgeous colors of the Painted Desert in the distance. See the remote North Rim, including its highest viewpoint, Point Imperial. Admire the Kaibab Plateau and dense greenery of the Kaibab National Forest before returning to Grand Canyon National Park Airport at the conclusion of your 40-minute aerial tour.

The flight was beautiful, but at the beginning the pilot said they would be telling some historical events and interesting facts about the Grand Canyon. They only made mention of one thing, where the Little Colorado joined the Colorado River.

This was a highlight of our Grand Canyon experience! The staff was amazing!

The scenery was beautiful ! My 2 grandsons 13 and 17 took the trip with me. We thought our trip was book for 11:00 to 11:30. On arrival one hour early were told our trip was at 1:00 pm and we didn't take off until almost 2 pm. Having thought our trip was earlier we booked plans to be North of Las Vegas 4 hours by dinner time. _br/_ The pilot and co pilot scared both my grandsons by announcing we didn't have enough fuel for our trip, and we had to get fuel. Both boys are adventurous. We all fly several times a year. I was not real comfortable either. I also notices a couple other passengers appeared a little nervous . After about 3 minutes it was announced we were taking off. There was no farther explanation about the low fuel. _br/_ Needless to say I spent most of the trip trying to reassure my grandsons everything was alright or we would have not taking off._br/_ The personal should not make announcements and then change with out explanation. _br/_ Our trip was book way in advanced. In hindsight I should have ask the pilot about why we did not get fuel. I was 3 rows behind the cockpit.

Absolutely worth it!! Have to see the Grand Canyon from the sky. A must do. In our ride, passengers on the left side of the airplane did get a better view than the ones who looked out from the right windows...I do not know if depending on the wind they switch direction of flight, but if they do not, make sure you get a place on the left hand side :

Our group of 4 adults took the Grand Canyon Airlines Landmarks tour which is a 45 _br/_ minute Airplane tour. Fixed wing aircraft tours are roughly 1/2 the cost of Helicopter flights,

Our Pilot was adorable. However, it was difficult to get good pictures because of the airplane it's self. Always seem to be a wing or a bar in our picture. For actually flying over the Canyon and around, it was awesome.

I was glad that we chose the plane over the helicopter. Our pilot seemed genuinely interested in giving us a great experience by mentioning things to look for before the trip. I think her name was Taylor. She was from Texas. She also helped with pictures before and after the trip.

The tour itself takes you out over the grand canyon and the view is spectacular, however there is quite a bit of time when you have head phones on with nothing being said. At the beginning of the tour it indicated there would be pleasant music throughout and I we spent the majority of the time concerned we were missing the narrative piece of the tour vs focusing on the spectacular view.

This flight was excellent! It really revealed to grandeur of the Grand Canyon and took us over areas a long way from the parts visited by the general public. Well worth the effort.

Oh my word! What a trip made all the more exciting by flying through a thunderstorm A tad nerve-racking. The views are outstanding and so worth it. If you want memories then go no further!

Great way to see the Canyon. It was raining the day we flew which added to the experience. We still had a great view of the canyon.

My husband and I enjoyed this tour. The pilots introduced themselves and were very nice. It was a good day for the flight. The headphones was useful and explained many sights. Only when then recording was changed from music to speaking there was a sharp noise that was uncomfortable to the ear.

Excellent service by everyone involved, especially counter staff when checking in. Things ran well and on time, flight was smooth, views were terrific, and narration was professional and helpful. I highly recommend this flight and this company.

It was beautiful but thought we would get in closer to the actual canyon.

We had a wonderful time. The crew was very friendly and the view was breathtakingl. Customer service was also very attentive to our scheduling conflict and was able to change our reservation time. I strongly recommend this tour as well as Viator. You don't realize what you would not have seen from the ground, until you see it from the air. Diane S

Booked online from the UK. Requested late morning flight but advised, after booking, that only 15.00 flight was available. Actually flew at about 14.00. Young lady pilot was excellent and I got to fly alongside her in a single engined, 9 seater. Great views and would recommend.

We called in 24 hours in advance of our flight and were told that we were good for an 11:00 departure and to be there at 10:30. We arrived at about 10:00 and were told that we were good to go for a 2:00 departure and to come back at 1:30. There was obviously a slip up in the scheduling. Long story short, your personnel went above and beyond to make things right with us and we ended up on a 11:00 departure helicopter ride....in the front seat. It was absolutely fantastic. We have bragged on your company to all of our friends we also bragged about the flight.

My tour never happened. So much for your 24/7 help line. I received a pro forma reply that my message would be reviewed within 12-24 hours. I have still not received a reply. I originally reserved an air tour of the Grand Canyon to originate at Las Vegas. When I called to reconfirm my reservation, the origination point had been changed to Tusayan Az. I could not make hat drive with the time I had. Please review your help line process
