Private Tour: Deluxe Halong Bay Day Cruise including Seafood Lunch from Hanoi
Hanoi, Vietnam
Take a one-day tour to the spectacular World Heritage listed site of Halong Bay by a traditional Vietnamese junk boat, while enjoying a delicious seafood lunch. Halong Bay is one of Vietnam's most spectacular natural wonders with over 3000 natural limestone islands dotting the bay.
Your full-day tour to Halong Bay begins with the drive from Hanoi which takes approximately 3-hours by road. Once at Halong Bay, board your private junk boat for a cruise of this stunning area, stopping along the way to visit one of the limestone caves in the bay. Whilst on board indulge in a delicious seafood lunch.
Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, Halong Bay is one of Vietnam's most spectacular natural wonders. The tiny limestone islands are dotted with many beaches and grottoes created by the wind and the waves that provide an excellent backdrop for lazing about from the deck of the luxury junk vessel.
Such a beautiful place to see, worth the trip out of Hanoi. Our guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and kind. Lunch was very good, modest and fresh.

This tour was amazing. The lunch was delicious and the cruise was beautiful. They picked us up at our hotel on time, the van was comfortable with stops in between to stretch our legs and view some sights. The entire day exceeded our expectations!

Trotz langer Fahrt ein Traum - es lohnt sich sehr! Die Bootsfahrt dauert drei Stunden mit sehr gutem Essen! Wir hatten ein Schiff für 50 für Personen allein für uns als Paar - einfach superklasse

The guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the history of Vietnam. The sites were everything I hoped they would be. Those amazing islands had my jaw dropped the whole time. The boat was great as well. The lunch was delicious. I got great weather but it is good to check for rainy season if you are planning a trip. A tropical depression hit the area on my car ride home, so I was lucky!

Very nice tour and boat ride around Halong Bay. Hotel pick was on time and the journey to Halong Bay from centre of Hanoi was a nice comfortable journey. Very interesting and funny guide. Great English too which makes a big difference. Boat ride was nice and relaxed. Lunch was very nice too. Overall a very nice tour

We had an amazing day!! Our guide Duc, was such great fun and the sights unbelievable. Only two downfalls to the day. (1) The toilet stops at workshops where you are expected to make a purchase of the goods on sale. Didn't enjoy the hard sell. (2) We asked for a vegetarian lunch due to dietary requirements and a plate of boiled rice didn't really cut it. Go prepared if you need to eat outside the standard Vietnamese diet.

I absolutely loved it. I would recommend it to anyone going Vietnam. Even the locals recommend it. There were only two of us on the boat, which would have fit about 20 people. We didn't get a choice to swim in the water, which I would have loved to do. But I loved every minute of it. Tour guide speak brilliant English and knew his stuff.

A good tour on the whole, but I was a little disappointed that I was not allowed to swim and a little lonely because there was only me on the boat!

We were alone on a massive junk boat so it was kind of wasteful and a bit lonely. The guide also cut the boat ride short and told us we couldn't jump off the boat and swim in the bay, though he found time to stop at tourist trap souvenir factories on the drive out to Halong Bay and again on the way back to try to get us to buy stuff at stores he had obviously made deals with. When we told him we didn't want to shop, he and the driver got out of the vehicle anyway and stopped and had tea with the factory owners while my brother and I waited in the overheating car for 30 minutes. Vietnam is notoriously shady, but I expected to not have to deal with any of that on this tour since I paid American prices and booked through a reputable company.

The drive to Halong Bay was rather long, three-and-a-half hours, and tedious, but the trip itself and luncheon were very good.

Please note that this is private tour. Which means you will be stuck with a very awkward not-so-good-with-english-speaking guide the whole time, to whom you have to pay rapt attention as he speaks non-stop about the poverty and corruption in Vietnam. The anonymity of a group tour would perhaps be more fun because you can choose when to take pictures or pay attention when something interesting is being discussed. The private tour is awkward, and the lunch is somewhat paltry.

Right after lunch, the serving staff will come to accost you with cheap souvenirs and they are very persistent. And since you and your travel companion are the only persons on the boat, other than your guide, you feel very pressured. They don't stop when you say no.

Our tour guide was fabulous. His English was excellent and his personality very easy going and friendly. His added commentary on life in Vietnam was one of the high lights of our trip. The tour on Halong Bay exceeded our expectations. Breathtaking natural beauty and outstanding lunch (even though we're not big seafood fans).
