Hawaii’s Big Island is blessed with spectacular landscapes, including volcanoes and rain forests, and this is the best way to see it all. You’ll have between 15 minutes to one hour at each of the following stops; the order could change, depending on factors like weather, but you will see it all. Kailua Town: Kailua Town was considered the premier place to live in ancient times; kings called it home. Kealakekua Bay: Catch amazing Hawaiian views here.
Kona Coffee Plantation: Sample Kona’s delicious export. Volcanoes National Park: The Grand Circle tour includes admission to the park. Built in 1916, the park features the results of 70 million years of volcanic activity, migration and evolution. See the Kilauea Iki crater, Thurston Lava Tube and the steam bluffs. Bring a light sweater or jacket to wear here.
Jagger Museum: You can watch films of past eruptions and current volcano activity at this free, hands-on museum. Volcano Observatory: This is where the US Geological Survey monitors volcanic activity using a variety of technological and scientific data. You’ll be fascinated by what they know.
Additional stops on the tour include a drive through Parker Ranch’s gentle hills and a view of flowing waterfalls along the gorgeous Hamakua Coast.
Tour guide, Jala was excellent. Bus was wonderful. Little disappointed in crater/volcano stop. Tour was long 12 hours Last hour was just travel and it was dark and you were unable to see anything.

Tommy was a great guide - we stopped regularly - even at places not on the tour. Well worth going to see places on the island you wouldn't usually see as all the usual tourist parts. A long trip but well worth it.

Our tour guide and bus driver Jeff was the best and most relatable person for a trip around the whole Island. He always had something enlightening to talk about at every part of the 11 hour tour. This tour was the best day of the whole vacation.

Very good tour. The driver was funny and very knowledgeable about the history of Hawaii. The only missing stop was the observatory .For some reason the driver did not go there, but besides that the tour was still very pleasant .

Guide was excellent and learned a lot about Hawaii and the big island_br/_ Every stop was great._br/_ Only downer was the bus broke down and we missed the last stop plus the replacement bus had no sound so we didn't have any narrative for the las two hours._br/_ Felt bad for the driver because he didn't deserve that._br/_ Otherwise trip worth the money.

The tour was amazing! Jeff our tour guide was very knowledgeable. We made several stops - volcano park was spectacular and we had a sumptuous lunch there. The black sand beach was beautiful and we did see a turtle sunning on the beach. It was a very comprehensive tour and well worth the time and money. We were treated to the history and folk lore of the island.

I was disappointed that we were put on a large bus with lots of others. I get car sick in the back of buses. You could not interact well with the driver from way back in the bus. The driver was very knowledgeable, but I was expecting a small bus of about 20 people.

This tour definitely was worth the cost. The motor coach was comfortable and the driver was very informative. I appreciated the hotel pickup and drop-off. The meal at the Volcano Restaurant is the one thing I would change. The food was mediocre at best and that's being generous. I felt like I was eating a school lunch... we even got trays like a school lunch! If I had known the food wasn't good and we had to pay extra for it I would have tried to bring a sandwich or something instead. Other than the meal the rest of the tour was pretty amazing. Our guide was was so knowledgeable and friendly. I'd highly recommend this tour to any visitor to the Big Island.

Had a wonderful full day of fun. Our guide, KALA just halla for Kala gave us a rich understanding of the land and culture, and the history that brought us to today. Being aboriginal Hawaiian allowed him to share insight and a taste of the beautiful Hawaiian people, and the multi-cultural influences on the island. He made us feel like VIPs and in the Hawaiian way, a little family for the day. We were thrilled to see turtles, volcano, waterfalls, taste amazing homemade ice cream, coffee, shortbread, macadamia nuts, chocolate and a delicious lunch. The lunch was so well organized, we filled out our menu ahead, he called it in, and when we got there, our name was on a table and the delicious food arrived soon after the mahi mahi with macadamia crust was fantastic !. Really enjoyed the day and recommend this for a taste of the island.

Excellent Excellent Excellent!_br/_ The tour was the best buy I had in Hawaii. It is fairly long and it can be a bit tiring but it will give you a taste of the island must sees! I would have included Hawi but I understand it might extend the time even too much!_br/_ Our driver was fantastic, he talked and talked and gave plenty of details in the most funny and non-boring way!_br/_ A must do on the island!

Jeff was our driver. He talked the whole 12 hours. All great information history, folklore, current events. It was a great way to see the island and decide where to go back and explore. It was planned for the beginning of the week and allowed me to cross of some visits and add on more exciting ones.

It was nice! More time with the turtles would have been great. Volcano museum, great. Hike next to the waterfalls, beautiful. We spent a lot of time on the bus, but the tour guide kept us awake with the information, stories and jokes.

I recommend doing this tour on your first full day on the island for two reasons: first, it will give you a good overview of what's there so you'll know where to go on the rest of your vacation, and second, it starts early, and if you're coming from the mainland USA, you're going to be at least two hours ahead so you'll be up early anyway._br/_ I was told the bus would be at my hotel at 7 am, we got to the pick up point about 6:45 and he was already there. Lunch is at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, if you choose to eat there the other option is to bring your own lunch, you'll be given a menu on the bus, make your selection and it's called ahead and your table is ready for you when you get there._br/_ Our driver, Kala, seemed to know everything there is to know about the island, its history, and Hawaiian culture, and freely shared it.

poor communication between booking agent and tour bus driver. request to have front seat confirmed yet when got to bus driver had no knowledge, did nothing to accommodate, and my wife was motion sick the entire trip and we could not sit together., Driver talked more about himself , his shirt, his house , etc than the destinations.

A very long and boring tour. The only attraction worth visiting from all of the various stops is the Volcano national park. One is better off doing the same separately rather than wasting one full day in this tour which has more commercial stops than actual site seeing options. The driver had highly local accent pronunciations which made is very difficult for us to understand, I checked with few fellow passengers local americans and even they found it difficult.

We had a week on the big island and a lot of items on our agenda to see. By taking the Grand Circle tour first, it enabled us to prioritize and also drop items that would not be worth a second trip. Obviously the whole island in one day did not allow for extensive visiting but it was certainly enough to set our sites on the must see items and with the conversations with our driver we discovered some gems to see that were not even on the tour.
