Hong Kong, Hong Kong

Departing from either Hong Kong Island’s Central Pier or Kowloon Public Pier, board a traditional Chinese-style boat for your 1.5-hour evening sightseeing cruise around Victoria Harbour. The harbor tour was very nice. The dinner was ok but nothing special. Only 2 others ate at the Jumbo Restaurant from the tour and there were few patrons at the restaurant. A bit of a disappointment.

Good tour, good food but tour ended at central location at taxi shift change time. Had to walk 1.2 miles with a cane bearing colleague. Would not recommend this tour for that reason.

Jumbo Rest was excellent, but Hong Kong Sunset Cruise wasn't worth it and after dinner they drop us off at a unknown hotel in the Kowloon area and we could not get a taxie because it was at 10 o'clock at night and the taxies were changing shifts and will not pick you up and we had to walk almost 2 miles to our hotel. Very poor communications, the guide on off on the Hong Kong side and did not tell us where they were dropping us off.. Go to the Jumbo Floating Restaurant but go by other means.

Was a wonderful evening on the harbour seeing the lights. The Jumbo Floating Restaurant was wonderful, although for the price the meal left a lot to be desired.

The boat ride was fun but dinner at Jumbo was better. We also took great pictures from the lookout on the Peak.

Hi_br/_ I attended the cruise dinner at Jumbo. I informed the tour lady that I don't eat beef and pork but I do eat sea food, and chicken._br/_ I was not happy at all with the food I was provided. It really spoilt my evening._br/_

Cruise on Victoria Harbour was good, Jumbo is old and dated with inedible food, runber quid, cold greasy rice and noodles and sullen wait staff, we felt as welcome as a turd in a punchbowl. Wirth $200 Australian? Not at all.

This was a spectacular tour with the sights and services of the guide and the dinner dishes we were able to taste. The only situation encountered on this tour were a couple of selfish travelers did not take into consideration the food on the table was for all travelers not just them and as a result some of the guests did not get the opportunity to taste all the dishes as this couple would load up their plates with whatever dishes were placed in front of them.

The sunset cruise portion of the tour was excellent, with good bar service and fabulous scenery of Hong Kong. The Jumbo floating restaurant meal was poor, with dirty dishes, cold day old fish balls, and lumpy noodles. The Victoria Peak portion did not include a stop at the peak, but a short stop at Stubbs lookout point, another disappointment.

To be honest I felt this tour was very disappointing. We could have gone on the boat cruise for just 330 HKD but the free drinks were not that pleasant. Beer called Blue Ice which tasted like shandy, cheap spirits and the wife my wife had red wine which was very harsh and undrinkable. The boat cruise itself was good and seeing Hong Kong at night from a cruise was great so we would have paid just for that. Unfortunately, it did not get better and after expecting so much from JUMBO, the floating retsaurant, again it was not good. We were expecting a nice banquet of food having 120 each in total 1200 for the table. We were rushed in, given some soup and at the same time plates of food arrived, of which some were cold already. Then we were rushed to finish and go. We had previously eaten better food at the street market the night before. The final 'experience' was to go to a viewing site to see the harbour which would have been great had all the trees not blocked the view! All in all not worth the money and I would not advise anyone to visit the Jumbo restaurant as part of a tour. Disappointing!

The tour is a must do for anyone visiting Hong Kong. The twilight cruise with unlimited drinks, followed by an authentic, but very uninspired, ordinary meal began a great night. The Restaurant itself, was beautiful and rightly well visited. Following the meal, we greatly enjoyed the return night cruise to see the beautiful Hong Kong Harbour lights...one that we will always remember. Our guide was fantastic, giving us an excellent commentary not only about the cruise but about the Hong Kong history and culture..this cruise was such a wow for us. Highly recommended.

Excellent way to experience hong kong at night. The tour guide was brilliant and very informative. The food was good, however you are all sat together with everyone on the coach so if you wanted a private meal its not the one to choose.

A good tour on a good day if you only have a short stay in Hong Kong. Weather conditions were poor.on the night of the tour which meant that moving about the cruise boat was difficult and the view poor.

The reason I gave it 3 stars is because the food at Jumbo was very disappointing. Not authentic at all. The food was very oily and the service was horrible. My favorite part of the tour is the boat ride as we got to see HK skyline before and after sunset.

Although we were under the wrong impression that the cruise and the dinner where at the same location or even close together. They are not you cruise Hong Kong harbour in a rickety old boat. The dinner is in Aberdeen mariner a fair distance by coach. Where the staff were not very welcoming and the food was poor and served cold. Would not recommend this trip book something else. Not worth the money.

This is hardly a sunset cruise as it starts in the dark!! but it was a really excellent cruise and the meal at the Jumbo Floating Restaurant was a great experience.

The sunset cruise part was fine giving a nice overview of the harbour. Taken by bus to the Jumbo Floating Restaurant, then into a small boat ride to the restaurant. It is worth seeing from the outside. The dinner was a bust! No one was in there, we were rushed through a barely warm 5 coarse dinner that was at best a 1 on a scale of 1 to 10! Coming from Vancouver, BC we have some of the finest Chinese Restaurants going and we are used to far superior food than was offered here. Not worth doing the restaurant part as we rate it very poor!!!!!!!

The cruise with an open bar at sunset with HK skylight is a must.

Our tour guide Steven was a delight, met us on the boat, very kind and spoke good English. The sunset cruise was interesting and though the weather was poor wet, cold and windy, the free alcohol offered on the boat kept some of us happy and smiling! Once off the boat, it was a quick trip on the shuttle bus to the other side of town to hop on another boat across to the Jumbo Floating Restaurant did not realise there were two boat rides. ..._br/_ Arrived at the Jumbo Floating Restaurant, an amazing, colourful and fabulous sight to see. Such a beautiful building. The food prepared 8 course meal was not as exciting or extravagant as the restaurant. Dinner time felt rushed and there were complaints of not enough food though Steven was so kind to get more for us...It felt like the restaurant staff were not willing or helpful to cater to the needs of our tour group.

The first part of the tour, the harbour cruise and seeing the Christmas light show was amazing and we really enjoyed chatting to our guide Wendy. The dinner at Jumbo was ok but not a place I'd probably go back to but interesting to visit as the setting is spectacular.

The meal at the restaurant was good, but not great. The cruise wasn't good. The weather did not help, but we could not understand one word of the commentary as the PA system was so poor. The bar staff were bordering on the rude when serving drinks. I would not do this trip again.

We had a limited time in Hong Kong, so the sunset cruise and dinner were a great alternative. The Jumbo actually was not crowded the night we went. We had very interesting dinner companions from the tour. It was a very small tour--just 8 of us--which was great. The guide was very personable and accommodating. He dropped us off at our hotel, even though that was not necessarily included. Thanks!

A lovely way to spend the evening in Hong Kong, the views from the boat on the river are spectacular, dinner on Jumbos was very tasty with some great photo opportunities. Finished off with a coach trip half way up the peak to see the lights of Hong Kong..great value for money

The sunset cruise was the best part of this tour. Having read mixed reviews of the Jumbo Floating restaurant, I was apprehensive booking this tour but thought it's a famous landmark of Hong Kong._br/_ This landmark has seen better days and the food was not a great example of Hong Kong cuisine._br/_ Our guide was knowledgeable and hosted us very well.

My DH and I wanted to go here b/c of the movie The World of Suzie Wong with William Holden._br/_ The cruise was great. The restaurant is grand in decoration. The food is nothing special._br/_ There is a section of where the fresh fish stay in big tanks. There are couple photos of William Holden in that room.

Cruise was lovely but dinner at the Jumbo was disappointing. The setting is superb but we were rushed through the meal at such a haste that the food was continually served and finished in around 45 mins. Is this the fault of the waiting staff or had the tour guide told them to serve us quickly. The food was average and I had been looking forward to a return visit after nearly 30 years but it was not a relaxing evening. Staff had no interest in the customers and didnt even talk to us, so I think it is now too commercialised which is such a shame.

Absolutely poor value for money and dreadfully disappointing floating resturant. _br/_ I would not recommend this trip and it is certainly not value for money - you would be better spending the same amount of money on a nice restaurant meal and getting change back. _br/_ I think the trip itself is misleading in its entirety as it suggests a sunset cruise - when there is no cruise - the boat does not move - we also did not see any sunset as we were inside the restaurant boat. _br/_ It also felt that this trip was all about making money - drinks were not included, there was another man who simply wanted to keep taking pictures and inside there was a cost for dressing up in thai costumes and taking photo's something which i feel should have been free given that the whole experience was overall so poor and misleading as I said. _br/_ The floating restaurant itself does not float it is in fact just sat on water and does not move - we were expecting the boat to move around the water _br/_ There is no scenery to look out to when eating

Was disappointed with this trip thought we was going on the aqua luna and ended up on some old boat. The meal at the jumbo was ok but nothing outstanding.Given it was our silver wedding trip and meal it did not live up to our expectations. Best thing was the guide.

My husband and I did the sunset cruise and dinner at Jumbo restaurant on May 31. I had been at Jumbo restaurant 17 years ago and wanted to return on this visit to Hong Kong. The sunset cruise was good and enabled a great opportunity to view Hong Kong and Kowloon from the water as the sun set. The Jumbo restaurant was as opulent and the food as good as I remembered but the restaurant wasn't as crowded. We mostly had fish which we enjoy. We also got dressed up as Emperor and Empress - something also I had done 17 years ago. After dinner we stopped at the Peak and saw Hong Kong at night which was beautiful. A very nice night experience in Hong Kong.

We enjoyed the sunset cruise.... it was good to see a complete view of both Kowloon and Hong Kong Island all lit up and looking fantastic. I had read mixed reviews of the Jumbo dining experience and have to admi the majority of negative reviews were correct. The food was scanty and mediocre and it was all over too soon. However it was an experience to see the garish floating Restaurent but maybe they should endeavour to make it a proper 'dining' experience.

The description for this tour was misleading,I thought we would go on the boat tour, disembark at the restaurant for the meal and would then find our own way home from here. In the event we met the boat at the pierthere are no signs or directions you have to keep asking anyone and everyone, had a lovely trip up the river, boat quite basic and free drinks a bit weak but commentary was quite good in various languages.getting on at pier 9 means you get the first choice of seating,I recommend right up the front. If you have booked the dinner At jumbo do NOT get off until the boat returns to pier 9. The instructions for this are muddled and as some people are supposed to get off at the first stop and others are only doing the boat trip it's very confusing.on arrival at the pier you have to find the tour guide who then takes you to a waiting bus and you drive to the restaurant. Our guide was very good, informing us along the way of the various sights and life in Hong Kong. You then transfer to the floating restaurant via a motor raft,a great little touch. Jumbos is a lovely sight all lit up. Inside you get to see the tanks where the live fish and seafood are kept before sitting down together for a shared meal. The food was ok,about the standard of a decent Chinese in the uk,nothing too spicy or exciting! Drinks were extra. After this we went back to the bus for a night tour up to the 1/2 way viewpoint on Victoria Peak to overlook the lit up city-amazing. Then we WERE dropped off at our hotel. Good way to see some sights of HK,try some food, meet people from other countries and learn about the city. I highly recommend.

A beautifully orchestrated evening. Guides ensured inclusion of all promised features. Nice harbor cruise despite the fog, and a generous open bar during sailing. Smooth transition to the Jumbo Restaurant where the food was excellent, service very good, and a very photo worthy event. Our guide was particularly available to the tour participants, and very knowledgable and humorous. Well worth your time and money in my estimation.

The cruise was not as we had imagined, too cold to sit on the open top deck so sat downstairs in a noisy, smelly cabin. The dinner provided at the Jumbo was ok but we don't feel it was good value for money. The bus tour afterwards was supposedly to show us the wonderful night views of Hong Kong, however, the weather wasn't very good which did somewhat spoil the experience.
