Nazareth, Tiberias and the Sea of Galilee Day Trip from Jerusalem

Nazareth, Tiberias and the Sea of Galilee Day Trip from Jerusalem

Jerusalem, Israel

Visit the Holy Land sites of Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee on a day trip from Jerusalem. You'll journey across Israel’s coastal plains to explore the city of Nazareth, the setting of many New Testament tales, then travel to the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus performed many miracles. If you’re intrigued by the sacred, or simply interested in the fascinating fables of the bible, this tour should be on your must-do list!

Set off from Jerusalem in your air-conditioned coach to the town of Nazareth, where you will visit popular Holy Land sites such as the Church of the Annunciation (where the Angel Gabriel visited the Virgin Mary) and the Church of St Joseph’s Carpentry.

Continuing north through the small village of Kafer Kana, your Holy Land day trip passes the Church of the Multiplication by the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus’ miracle of the loaves and fishes and the feeding of the 5,000 took place.

Stop on the shores of the Sea of Galilee to explore the ancient fishing village of Capernaum, and discover the ruins of the celebrated great Synagogue where Jesus first taught his followers.

Finally, travel via the coastal city of Tiberias to reach Yardenit – a sacred site at the southern end of the Sea of Galilee where the River Jordan flows down to meet the Dead Sea. Many Christian visitors to the region feel a deep connection to the River Jordan; as such it is possible to be baptized here, as part of the tour. Passing the stunning Mt. Tabor, your tour returns to Jerusalem.

Whatever your religion, no trip to Israel is complete without seeing these Holy Land places of such historical and cultural importance!

We departed from Jerusalem for this tour at 6am. We were pickup and then 2 hours later waited at a rest stop for 45 minutes to pick up additional guests from Tel Aviv. 2 hours later we arrived at Nazareth more than 4 hours in total. We only stayed about 45 minutes. We then drove by Tiberius because the driver said that we were late. We then stopped at another church.... it had great views but our tour guide did not allow an extra 5 minutes to get some pictures. Lunch did not come until 2pm 8 hours after pick up. The stop at baptismal sight was about 1 hour. It was not worth the 14 hours to see 1 hour of Nazareth, 1.5 hour lunch, 40 minutes at a church, and 1 our at baptismal sight.

Enjoyed the tour, guide was great and more importantly, patient with our requests! The last stop Jordan River was too long though, and it made us get caught in a 2 hour traffic coming back... In any case, learned a lot, saw a lot, enjoyed a lot!! Thank you!!

Our guide was a little hard to understand. She spoke very broken English. We felt there were several things she did not point out of interest that we heard other guides explaining. I took pictures of several explanations outside The Church of the Annunciation and The Church of St Joseph which she never explained or pointed out to us. We were pleased to see what was shown. We just feel she could have done a better job

The tour, bus driver and guide Dan were great. The pace was good and information given was well explained and comprehensive. The sights were wonderful. The only reason I didnt give a 5 star review Is because the bus transfers were a little time consuming.

This was a wonderful tour and our guide Denny could not have been better. He took us to all of the sites promised as well as a few bonus stops. Our driver was also great. We were able to leave things on the bus under his guarded eye. If we needed to get back on the bus for something forgotten, he was right there. And of course with Viator you can get picked up and dropped off at your hotel. Now that was a bonus for sure especially on an early morning tour.

Dan was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Food was great at the Sea of Galilee. Group was a little too large and time wasted going from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv to pick up people. Probably should be separate tour groups. We had one person who ignored time restraints and made us an hour late But, SHE did get to get baptized while the rest of us waited on the bus. Overall, good day in spite of one thoughtless person.

It was a long day first of all, and I felt that everything was rushed except for lunch which was not worth the time or price. Also missing out on going to one of the sites was disappointing as well as going into the church in Nazareth during mass I felt was inappropriate. Overall it was okay but was okay the guide tried his best but was not at all interested in the Christian sites which was weird considering most of the sites covered are related to Christianity

The tourist guide wasnt very good and this was a very long tour i.e. pickup time is 5:50AM duration 12 hours. Bus says internet available but there wasnt any internet. We could hardly hear what the tour guide was saying, most of the time he was having conversations with the people seated up front. Not value for money and there was 6 of us.

Extremely interesting tour, done over a demanding schedule. Dan, the tour guide, was very knowledgeable and personable. He helped corral us all together, given some joined the tour at Jerusalem, some at Tel Aviv. Would recommend.

Tour guide Dan Porges was very accomodating and entertaining. Driver Nisar was great too. They truly want you to have a great time and ask questions. Make sure you eat breakfast and bring snacks. The pick up and drop off waits are okay. Great service. Ask if you stay on the same bus or transfer.

What a joke. Suppose to be an all day tour of Nazareth, Tiberias and Sea of Galilee. First of all I booked through Viator due to the tour listing information stated hotel pick up and drop off. Didn't trn out to be so. After I booked and paid I recieved an email telling me I would be picked up at a cofe shop which was a long distance from me. I had to walk there in the dark at 5:30 AM, the coffee shop was closed. Tour guide didn't show up until 6:20AM then we went to a meeting place to wait for another bus, we waited for nearly half an hour. Then got under way and stopped down the road at another place the street to to wait for another bus another 30 minuets wasted. When we finally arrived in Nazareth the first thing the tour guide did was take us to a very expensive gift shop where their company gets a kick back from. Then walked us down to the church of Annunciation walking past many, many mom and pop shops that I and others wanted to shop in but couldn't. The gave us about 30 minuets at the church and it was time to move on. What disappointment. Tiberias was just a drive through to get from point A to point B, no stopping here as we were on our way to Sea of Galilee for lunch at a restaurant their company chooses and no doubt gets a kick back from. Lunch with a coke was 27.90 USA which was the salad bar and a piece of fish. NO time to go down to the lake and reflect on what took place here 1000's . of years ago. The entire day was a huge disappointment, most of us felt the tour guide was rude, he didn't get many tips from this trip. Viator is a vendor that books the tour company's this company was Bein Harim. I do not recommend them or Viator. I took the trip to see religious sites not their gift shop and restaurant.

Long journey through the countryside - our guide Dan Porges he's also a good photographer offered us many details on the present challenges of the country along with information on the Christian 'tradition' aka 'Scriptures'. The exact location of some crucial events e.g., the multiplication of the loaves and fish is not paramount - for example, there seem to be two places in Nazareth where archangel Gabriel appeared to the virgin Mary, of which we visited one, but even so the exact location may have been entirely different. Dan was an exemplary 'mother goose' and insured that nobody got lost easy thing to do when lots of visiting groups are intersecting frequently at the important sites. I would have skipped the first stop at a large store selling religious paraphernalia, but on the other hand there was a good time to visit the bathrooms. The restaurant where we had lunch was ok - I would recommend ordering the salads and skipping their mains quasi all of deem deep-fried in oil - it will halve your costs as well. In terms of confort, the minivan had excellent air conditioning but lacked sufficient opportunities for leg-stretching. All in all, a worthwile trip - would recommend.

The tour did not stop at Tiberias, even though it is stated in the title. Little time was spent at the sea of Galliee as the restaurant took so long and we stopped at random other churches. The guide was also rather political with their views. Not worth the money

This was my first excursion with Viator and loved it. I would have given it 5 stars except that the bus was 1 1/2 hours late picking me up to start the tour. I kept calling back and they would say they were on their way. That amount of delay is unacceptable._br/_ Because of that delay the thing that I most wanted to do spend time and get baptized in the Jordan River was cut so short that the five of us had to run off the bus, change clothes, jump in the river, then throw clothes on and run back to the bus with wet hair. I did not get the opportunity to really enjoy this stop that was important to me and all I could think about was the hour and a half that I sat outside the hotel waiting to get picked up in the morning when I really wanted to have spent time here. _br/_ Also wish they would use headsets because of the large crowd on the bus, you couldn't hear what the tour guides was saying

It was a great tour to see many historic places in Israel, very efficient visit. However, the pick up was not efficient at all. We were asked to meet at 5:50am but didn't get picked up for about an hour.

Very disappointing! Do not book this tour!_br/_ We were told to be at our meeting spot at 6:30am- they picked us up at 7:15!_br/_ We drove from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv- and sat in a parking lot of a park to meet other tour buses and change passengers by tour. That is fine- but the Mediterranean was close by- I am not sure why they don't pick a spot near a water view where we could get coffee and food- as well as restroom facilities- especially because we were there for nearly an hour! _br/_ We went to Nazareth- unfortunately this is not a nice town. It did have a pretty church._br/_ Tiberius should not be listed on this tour- you drive right past it! _br/_ Sea of Galilee is beautiful- you visit pretty churches but then are forced to eat lunch at a restaurant with one price that herds you in and out! I am not sure why we did not stop in Tiberius where there is a cute city on the water and shops/restaurants- note- lunch was at 2:30 . _br/_ Bring your own food and water- any if you go on the tour!! _br/_ Last stop was the Jordon river baptism site- very pretty! _br/_ Our tour guide was nice and driver was as well but there were too many things wrong to rate this tour with more than 1 star. _br/_ Go on the Masada and Dead Sea tour instead!

The trip was okay--not something I would want to do again. We started out by being picked up almost 40 minutes late in a small van before being transferred to the larger bus. One man was complaining how he was picked up more than an hour late! As the pickup time is 5:30am, being late is incredibly frustrating. The drive itself, while long, wasn't too awful--the AC did need some work though. Our first stop in Nazareth was a souvenir store--definitely not my thing. I can go shopping on my own time. We visited the Church of Annunciation--it was beautiful--but felt a little rushed. Note: modest clothing is required one man was kept out for wearing shorts. The restaurant for lunch was rather disappointing. You have to pay for it--which amounts to more than 20. It seems the purpose of the restaurant is for tour groups and that is where everyone else went. Incredibly busy and unorganized. While positioned right on the Sea of Galilee, we were rushed down to the water for 10 minutes if we really wanted to go. The best part of the day was the Jordan River at the end of the trip. I liked it best for its relaxation and we were rather left alone to explore for half an hour. The drive back was not the greatest as the WiFi had stopped working.
