Luau Kalamaku with Plantation Owner's Dinner and Champagne Reception

Kauai, United States of America

For a special evening out, head to Kauai’s Kilohana Plantation for an exclusive Champagne reception and dinner followed by a traditional Hawaiian luau. You’ll enjoy a four-course meal of island specialties and then watch an entertaining live performance of Polynesian dancers and flame twirlers from your premier seats. Be mesmerized by the beautiful story of the first Tahitian voyagers to the Hawaiian Islands, giving you a unique look into local culture and history.

Begin your evening at Kauai’s elegant Kilohana Plantation with a lei greeting and a Champagne toast to celebrate this special night. Then, you’ll sit down for a delightful four-course meal at Gaylord’s Restaurant (menu can be found in the Itinerary section below).

After you’ve had your fill of several island specialties, you’ll have the chance to shop at the wonderful galleries and boutiques inside the plantation home. Browse unique artwork and hand-crafted Hawaiian products before taking a torch-lit walk to the Luau Pavilion.

Stop at the Mango Bar for a mai tai or glass of wine (own expense) or head straight to your premier seats to watch the theatrical production.

Be mesmerized as hula dancers, fire ball twirlers and traditional Polynesian fire knife dancers paint a vivid story of the journey of the first Tahitian voyagers to the Hawaiian Islands. Learn of their hardship, drama and finally triumph as you sit back, relax and become immersed in the state-of-the-art media system and stage design.

Depending on the option selected, you can enjoy round-trip transportation.

The experience itself was really nice. Pricing however could be more economical. Please double check your pickup times if you are getting picked up from your hotel. Don't just assume the voucher time is correct. Ours was off by 1 hour, thankfully we had a rental car and was relatively close to the venue. I must say though the Luau Manager did call us to see where we were and accommodated us with a condensed dinner serving, but really would have preferred to have been picked up from hotel for safety purposesdrinks. This way you can enjoy a few drinks and not worry about having to drive.

Great show, high energy, a bit different than other Luau's that we have attended, but wonderful

This was the second time I did this excursion. I came last year with Norgewian Cruise Line and decided to take my family when I came back this year. The Gaylord is wonderful and the food delicious. You are then escorted to front row seats to the show and it delivers. If you come ot Kauai this should be on your priority list.

Amazing! The upgrade is totally worth it. The dinner was fantastic. The service superb. The front row reserved seating just about had us in the show. You won't regret this one bit.

I absolutely loved the dinner and the luau. It was not a traditional luau, but instead an excellent dinner at a great restaurant Gaylords, and then front row sitting for the luau show. I would definitely do this again. We also took the Shuttle, so we could have a drink and not have to drive. Good Choice.

The dinner was very good and they treated us like royalty, the service was excellent and so was the food! We also enjoyed the Luau and we did have front row seats just like the tour said we would! The champagne flowed 1 whole bottle for dinner and the drinks at the luau were complimentary!

This is the best luau I have been to. The show is a story. The food at the plantation owner's dinner was better that your typical luau dinner. We will go again if we return to Kauai

The dinner at Gaylord's was very good. Portions appropriate and food quality good. The show was amazing as was the escort from Gaylord's to the show...stars of the show. Pick-up was prompt and driver a great guide. We were disappointed by misrepresentation on beverages. We received a glass of sparkling wine and then a beverage of choice when arriving at the show at 7:15. The bar closes at 7:30 p.m. I feel Gaylord's should have provided a free beverage or two considering the high price of the upgrade. The wine we purchased for the table was very pricey.

Was a nice evening. Had a nice meal at the restaurant and then were escorted over to the Luau by a couple of the dancers. Had reserved tables - the best seats in the house. If you are going to do this Luau, look at booking this tour. Well worth it. When you arrive, go directly to the Plantation Owners house and check in. Don't stand in the lines with the rest of the tourists as you will be sent to the house.

We paid for the upgraded dinner. I wish we had just eaten the traditional meal at the Luau because I feel we missed an important part of the experience. The champagne dinner was delicious and the service was great, however. The show was wonderful and our seats were next to the stage.

The dinner and luau were awesome, so glad we did the Plantation Owner's dinner rather than the normal luau dinner. We ended up at a table right next to the stage for the show. The entire evening was great, especially the mai tai's in the bar and during dinner, the best on the entire trip.

Truly a wonderful experience from start to finish. Picked up at the hotel in the north and an hour later we were there. As we'd pre-booked, we queued and were then directed to a separate entrance where we were quickly shown to our table and sparkling wine. The 4 course meal was wonderful. If you want copious amounts of food and alcohol, go for the other option. If you want higher quality, this is for you. _br/_ Once we'd had our meal, we were shown to our front row seats. _br/_ A few drinks from the bar, an excellent show and when complete, back on the coach for the return leg.

Having the private dinner at the plantation house was incredible-- great service and great food. Then getting escorted by torch bearers to the front table and the luau performance was perfect-- couldn't ask for a better view! Been to many luaus before-- but this by far was the best.

We attended Christmas Eve. The entire family had a wonderful time from beginning to end. We started with a lei greeting, pictures in the garden, and an intimate and quiet family dinner at the plantation. Then we were escorted to and from front row seats at the fabulous show. Couldn't have arranged a better evening. Best luau experience on the island and we've attended them all over the years we've been coming!
