Shipwreck Snorkel and Wild Dolphin Encounter

Shipwreck Snorkel and Wild Dolphin Encounter

Key West, United States of America

Spend a beautiful Florida day out in the clear, blue waters off Key West. On the Key West Shipwreck Snorkel and Wild Dolphin Encounter cruise, you’ll spot dolphins playing and swimming along the boat, and you’ll snorkel over shipwrecks and coral reefs. The spacious catamaran offers plenty of room to relax, feel the sea breeze in your hair, enjoy light snacks and drinks, and have fun on the sparkling waters of Key West.

Spend a day in the Florida sun, cruising through the perfect turquoise waters that surround Key West on the Echo, a spacious catamaran. You’ll board the Echo at the historic Key West Sea Port, downtown at the Key West Bight in Old Key West. Walk along the Harborwalk, which goes around the water’s edge and leads straight to the Echo’s dock, behind Turtle Kraals restaurant.

The first stop of your Shipwreck Snorkel and Wild Dolphin Encounter cruise is the wild dolphin playground, where you’ll see dolphins swimming, feeding, jumping, courting each other, playing and, if you’re lucky, caring for their babies. Keep your eyes peeled over the side of the Echo – the dolphins love to swim right alongside the boat.

Then it’s on to snorkeling. You’ll be taken to a spot with the day’s calmest, clearest conditions, and you’ll receive sanitized snorkeling equipment and excellent snorkeling instructions. If the conditions are right, you’ll stop at a nearby shallow-water shipwreck, which has been encrusted over the years by a coral reef. Hop in for a snorkel or swim in clear tropical water, which is home to more than 600 species of colorful fish, coral and other sea life.

After snorkeling, replenish with a tropical fruit tray, snacks, soft drinks, ice-cold beer and wine (for guests 21-and-over) during the relaxing cruise back to Key West – all complimentary!

It's been a while since I last swum so when I was nearly drown in a 2-meter-steep area, the indifference the crew demonstrated and their sluggishness to throw me a life buoy made me wonder what the heck was in their mind then.

The ship reck is really not a ship but just parts of it in shallow water. The dolphins were amazing !

Choppy seas prevented us from snorkeling at the shipwreck, but we saw a LOT of dolphins!! great trip with a great crew, Captain Brad and Melanie are the best!!

Viator sells this as a shipwreck snorkel and dolphin encounter, but when we showed up it was not a shipwreck snorkel. Nothing against the actual excursion, which was great, but we felt misled

Captain and the skipper did a great job on this snorkeling trip. No dolphins or sailing this time but those are the uncontrollable elements. Catamaran was smaller than expected and 14 passengers on board (their max) would not be pleasurable.

Boat owner? Was rude after 5pm when I called to confirm per a last minute email but the Crew was amazing. Dive spot was kind of disappointing. Assumed it was an actual ship not a couple boards underwater. We did see sharks and a turtle though which completely made up for it. If you're looking for coral and fish you should probably do a reef trip.

We didn and #39;t like it at all. The guys were really friendly and did their best but of you have been snorkeling once in The reden Sea you find the aerea around Key West boring. And honestly, this was mit a ship wreck that was a Little dingi put in the sea. This Trip was and #39;t worth the money.

The trip was great! However, we were unable to see the Dolphins because they were sleeping. They were just rolling around in the water. It was neat to see them, but we couldn't get close or see much. Then, we only got about 20 minutes to snorkel. It is a 4 hour trip but at least 3 hours of it you spend on the boat. There is minimal time looking at Dolphins and minimal time snorkeling. The captain and deckhand were awesome and super helpful! I had a great trip, I just wish I would have known that the majority of the day was spent on the boat and not actually doing any activities.

Capt. Chris and Renatta were excellent hosts, the catamaran was comfortable and clean and the small size of the group encouraged an intimate and friendly excursion. Highly recommend this the only reason for the 3/5 stars is the dolphins weren't found, but that can't be blamed on the Echo's crew.

Loved it. So chilled and well organised. Captain and crew member knowledgable and in control at all times. Catamaran modern and well equipped. Plenty to drink and good selection of snacks - nice to have a fresh fruit platter. Snorkels and flippers provided and we saw a pod of dolphins on the way out which was beautiful. Snorkelling over the wreck was so peaceful and we saw so many amazing and different fish. Excellent and well organised.

Jeff was a great captain and motivated to find us dolphins and have a decent snorkeling trip. Not the best weather but he made due. Owner captain Tom is a bit salty according to others who called regarding the trip details. I guess booking through Viator is not Tom's favorite way of getting passengers onboard.

Yes it was raining at the start of our excursion and the captain decided to detour us away from the weather. Unfortunately that meant being unable to snorkel at the shipwreck but instead took us an area where there were sponge reefs and some fish. I found it disappointing as I saw minimal fish, boring marine vegetation and a few lobsters (that was cool). I would have been more satisfied especially for the money spent, him taking us to a nice coral reef site. _br/_ We did get lucky seeing a few dolphins that swam around the catamaran. The crew was very nice and the cold beer was refreshing. I've done much better snorkeling for sure.

This was the highlight for our month long road trip across the US. I'll always remember the boat ride and the swimming with all the fish. The boat crew was so nice. I really recommend this.

To celebrate our 47th Anniversary, my wife and I scheduled our Catamaran Echo adventure under the guidance and care of Captain Noah and Tess on March 10, 2013 at 1:30 pm. They were a great team who made the our afternoon the best experience of our stay in Key West. We were fortunate to have a sunny, brisk day with an excellent wind for sailing. Captain Noah and Tess' attention to detail, knowledge of the reefs, and smart tips for snorkeling exceeded our expectations to redefined "upscale service". We spotted several juvenile wild dolphons jumping close to shore and spotted a mature dolphin just off the bow enroute to the reef chosen for snorkeling. Water temp although in the low 70"s was perfect for snorkeling. My wife was less than 15 feet from a passing turtle ... and while snorkeling we were surrounded by schools of small yellow tail and angel fish curiously following our wake above the sponge fields. We plan to return to Key West and will definitely schedule another adventure with Catamaran Echo. Bring your camera and an your towels .. all other gear is provided and fitted for an experience of a lifetime.

This was a great trip. The customer service at both Viator and the company that runs the trip was superb. The tour itself was interesting, fun, and very satisfying. Highly recommended.

A nice trip, but I thought we were going to do a lot of snorkeling. It was more of a sail and seeing dolphins. We only snorkeled for 20-30 minutes and it was not over a shipwreck. Nice, but described inaccurately.

Excellent. What a great afternoon we had relaxing onboard and viewing dolphins in their natural habitat. This boat takes smaller groups so perfect if you don't like overcrowded boats. The staff were very friendly and informative staff with lots of drinks and refreshments available throughout the afternoon. The kids loved laying on the net/trampoline over the water at the front of the boat and being splashed by the waves as we travelled back to land which I believe is the only tour boat in Key West that has this. Well worth the trip to Key West.

This was a refreshing adventure and vacation that could not have gone any better. The crew has the most amazing hospitality. I recommend that you book with them. Perfect for someone who likes a smaller and more personal get away over an overcrowded boat. Worth every penny!

Water was cold but had a warm welcome and excellent service from the crew. Staff made us comfortable right off, knew their business and provided a memorable experience. Most rewarding investment I have made this year.
