8-Day Guided Hiking Tour of Kerry from Killarney

Enjoy an 8-day guided tour to the picture-postcard towns of Kenmare, Sneem and Glenbeigh and take a step back in time at historic Derrynane House and Staigue Fort. Your local guide will provide you with insights about how the area's warm summers and mild winters alongside with it's many sub-tropical and alpine species of flora while the temperate ocean waters, heated by the Gulf Stream, produce magnificent underwater vistas with whales, dolphins, seals and even turtles being frequent visitors.

Day 1: Killarney
Arrive at guesthouse in Killarney. Evening meal together and a general chat about the coming weeks hikes. (D)

Day 2:
Hike the Muckross House, Garden and Lakes. (B/L/D)
Hike details – Distance: 12kms. Duration: 4 hours walk. Max. Height: 2.00m

Day 3:
Hike through Derrycunnihy Woods and Old Kenmare Road to Kenmare. (B/L/D)
Hike details – Distance: 16kms. Duration: 5 hours. Max. height: 3.00m

Day 4:
Hike from Sneem to the spectacular Staigue Fort with views over Kenmare Bay to the Beara Peninsula and West towards Derrynane. (B/L/D)
Hike details – Distance: 16kms. Duration: 5 hours. Max. height: 4.00m

Day 5:
Morning hike in Derrynane National Park and Abbey Island continuing to the village of Waterville. (B/L/D)
Hike details – Distance: 16kms. Duration: 5 hours. Max. height: 3.00m

Day 6:
‘Free day’ to partake in other activities if you wish, such as cycling, horse riding, canoeing or just laze around with a book. (B/D)

Day 7:
Follow the stagecoach trail from Kells, just outside Cahersiveen, along the shores of Dingle Bay east towards Glenbeigh. (B/L/D)
