Off the beaten track and through the jungles of Koh Samui is today's adventure tour. See the real jungle on this island from the back of an open top 4WD jeep. The roads are rough and unsurfaced, so hang onto your hats!
Travel through the jungle, across rivers and hidden valleys and to waterfalls in the forest. One of the highlights of this tour is definitely the view from the highest point on the island.
This is a full day out and lunch will be served at a small mountain restaurant.
Overall we both enjoyed this trip as it took us to places we would not have seen otherwise. The only downside was that of our party of 12 we were the only Brits. Our fellow travellers were all German and, not unreasonably, our guide provided a great deal of time to giving explanations in german with little time for explanations in english. What would have added to our enjoyment would have been a wider mix of nationalities. Viator knows the make up of its groups so would suggest this is taken into account. It would also,have been helpful if there had been clearer information about the need for good trainers as the path alongside one of the waterfalls was impossible to do in walking saddles, which we were both wearing. Nevertheless we enjoyed the day.

Picked up promptly at our hotel, vechicle was clean with seat belts. Lunch at the tree top restaurant was lovely. The tour was everything it says. My only moan was our guides English was poor, we were the only English tourist on the tour the other eight being German. However he was fun and did go that bit extra when I dropped my sunglasses in the waterfall and he found them

All German speaking. we were left out. The guide speak more german and does not speak english well. _br/_ And when we ask what time should we be back and he gave us an angry face saying we did not listen to instructions. But hey, he's english is terrible....in the end, there is still no time line given on what time and where to meet._br/_ Also, 2 german ladies went missing for an hour all because in my opinion the instructions given was not clear._br/_ Book this tour at your own risk.

This was a decent tour of the island all though a bit hokey. The itinerary included:_br/_ 8:30am pick up. There were 8 in our Hilux and 6 in the other car._br/_ 9-11am: Waterfall 1 and 2, both were large and pretty, but they were in adventure parks or in a row of shops near elephant trekking. Not exactly remote. We apparently could swim but it didn't look very inviting so we did not. We were given 50 minutes at each spot, but it only took 10 minutes, and there was plenty of time to shop..._br/_ 11-12: _br/_ Mummified Monk Temple: very unique temple with a mummified monk in a display case_br/_ Magic Garden: a hokey garden of concrete figures. Took about 10 minutes to walk through, but we were given 50 minutes so we could again buy things..._br/_ 12:30-1:30 was lunch which was actually nice. It was remote and up a mountain with a view of the forest. Lunch included soup and 2 main dishes with rice._br/_ 1:30-3pm: jeeping up in the hills. This part was actually fun. Ride was bumpy, but our car was not as bumpy as the other car, which seemed to be hitting each and every bump with ferocity. We had a view points which were really nice._br/_ 3-430pm: Drive around the island back to the hotel. While up on the mountain they made a point of asking about tips and passing around a tip box - it honestly felt more like a bribe to take us back to our hotels and was pretty tacky.

Actual driving over rougher terrain in jeep was good fun, but there was a lot of stopping off at places without any explanation of where we were or what we were looking at. Our driver was friendly and talkative, and one of the other drivers tried to explain a bit about the farm that we stopped at, but the actual guide really did not tell us anything at all, and might as well of not been there!

Very nice trip, professional drivers, good overwie of all most famous places in samui, real off-road through jungles, nice diner in local cafe deep in jungles. The only thing - we were rather surprised for asking additional tips for drivers, it is no characteristic for Thailand, ussually price include also all tips.

Very nice way to see a lot of Koh Samui in about a 7-8 hour day. Awesome lunch up on a mountain made by a lovely family, home cooked, fresh Thai food, delish. Tour guides were very informative and shared a lot of great info.

I would not really recommed the tour it was fun at the end with some off road riding but the beginning with the area with waterfalls and sightseeing not worth the money. Water was dirty not for swimming and the day as long. Go to crystal beach instead for the day amazing beach and great etc

This tour was so much fun. Our guide and drivers were fantastic. The guide spoke English, German and Thai. This tour is a must, you get to see some of the tourist places at the start but then you get to go up into the middle of the island which is amazing.

We had so much fun on this tour. We started off with some typical tourist destinations but the guide was so informative that even those seemed special. The trip up the mountain was a blast and it felt like a private tour. We were the only jeep around. What an amazing way to see the interior beauty of Samui! This tour was truly unbelievable. Riding in the back of the Jeep gave you an amazing view of every part of the island. The waterfalls were great, all the temples were beautiful, and riding up into the jungle was an adventure all of its own. We had lunch in a tree house in the middle of the jungle and it was unreal! There was only one other couple and the two tour guides, and we all had a great time! I've never seen more breathtaking views. We spent the whole day all over the island and it was one of our best days of our trip! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Nothing remarkable about this modest tour which takes in a few local tourist sites including a couple of small waterfalls and a probably abusive elephant adventure ride, but still fun bouncing around the back of a small pickup along tiny rough backroads of a mountain plantation. Tasty lunch in a remote tiny jungle restaurant.

If you don't mind being thrown about in a safari jeep you will defiantly have a great day, there was people of all ages on our trips and everyone enjoyed it. The drivers who run the trip were great, the banter they had between each other made for great entertainment. Excellent trip if only all our trips in Thailand was as good as this!

After I go over the disappointment of it not being the same as last time I really enjoyed the trip and lunch was of a lot better standard than before_br/_

The guides english was very poor and towards the end of the day he simply decided to join the second jeep of people so we were stuck on a jeep with a driver and no one spoke english at all. This tour isn't as exciting as it sounds. You spend most of the time driving on tar roads and there is only a little off-road but it was a good way to see the island. Lunch was in a little hut high up in the mountains and the food was pretty good.

I was the only English speaking participant on the tour. It was average with a lot of driving and limited time at the venues. Overall, the tour was enjoyable, however not a home run. Be prepared for an open air jeep ride, lots of walking, average waterfalls, average lunch. In all a nice overview tour, but nothing to write home about.

The day that we did our jeep safari it was raining heavily and the roads were slippery and wet and the jeep was slipping and sliding all over the place and that made the jeep tour great fun!!!! The guide was crazy and kept us laughing throughout the whole experience! Yiu get taken to 3 view points to see the views of the island which are stunning. The lunch was delicious. If it hadn't been raining and so treacherous I don't think I would have enjoyed it half as much!

The day started off on the wrong foot with our guide deviating from the planned day by taking part of our group for an elephant ride. We were left to kill 40 minutes with nothing to do while the others went on the ride. Not impressed! We then visited a couple of waterfalls which weren't too dramatic given that it was dry season. This was followed by a visit to see the mumified monk. So far not too impressive. The day improve dfrom that point as we ventured into the jungle and off the beaten track. We had the opportunity to see Koh Samui from all sides and had a delicious lunch at a remote restaurant in the jungle. Delicious! The vehicle is very basic - wear your hat and sunscreen as there's no shelter but made the day more exciting. Well worth the effort!

Great tour, took in the side of Samui that cannot be viewed without a serious off-road vehicle. In a group of 8, we 2 were the only english speakers, all else being German. Guide was very patient and explained everything in both German and English for us. His language skills and comedy were excellent.

This was absolutely the highlight of our trip. Certainly not for the faint-hearted. All done very professionally, with huge amounts of fun and some hefty doses of adrenalin! Remarkably cheap, as the tour lasted pretty much the whole day. A great way to see the jungles around Koh Samui and a side of Thailand not seen from the resorts. Highly recommended.

I booked this trip for myself and my 7yr old son. I wasn't completely sure as to what was all entailed as the description was fairly brief and general but based on the previous reviews, I knew we'd have a great time. For 2 days prior, we rented motorbikes and explored the island on our own so I was a bit worried that the tour would include places we'd already been, but this was not the case._br /__br /_
The trip was nothing short of amazing. My son really enjoyed it and so did I! We visited 2 different waterfalls and we wore our swimsuits on the off chance that we'd be able to swim somewhere, as the beach at our hotel was unsuitable for swimming. The 2nd waterfall had a wonderful little spot for swimming!_br /__br /_
We also stopped to see the mummified monk and the Secret Garden, two places I wanted to see but hadn't yet so that was nice. The drive up the mountain for lunch was breathtaking as you could see the lush foliage all around, lunch was suburb as well! Continuing up the hill and then back down was a bit heartstopping at times! We had a blast! A few nice touches included the driver pulling over periodically to grab various native fruit from the trees for us to try and also the beautiful flowers he got us at one point. It seems like this will be a long day trip but with all the places you get to see the day ended up not being long enough! I definitely recommend this trip, maybe take it in the early part of your holiday then spend the rest on a motorbike going to the places not included in the tour!
