Experience the city of Lille through its famous local gastronomy. During this old town food tour enjoy a generous lunch full of local specialties from yesterday and today dotted with cultural and historical anecdotes. Everything is here to offer you a 360° view of a very interesting neighborhood. Spend 3.5 hours in the company of your local guide who is passionate about their city. You will be provided with 7 sweet and savory tastings of the best local specialties including seafood, sugar cake, meat specialties and French cheese. To top off the experience you will receive a little guidebook to accompany you and to keep as a souvenir.
You will be picked up by your local tour guide in front of the first tasting stop in central Lille. The tour lasts 3.5 hours during which time you will have 7 different samplings in a total of 5 different establishments so you might consider keeping your breakfast light! Our sampling partners have been chosen with care and they range from a refined tavern to a famous local craft baker, from a beer restaurant to an eighteenth-century sweet shop.
Not only do you get to taste the local delicacies but you will also visit some of the city's cultural and historical highlights, such as Our Lady of the Vine Arbour Cathedral, and your guide will provide you with anecdotes concerning the crooked picturesque streets of Old Town Lille. The tour takes place on foot with a general walking distance of 1.8 kilometers (a little over 1 mile). Since the tour stops often for the different samplings the pace can be adapted to your needs and you can rest regularly. The tour is a circuit in Lille Old Town neighborhood and you finish at around 3pm exactly where you started. There will be 12 participants per group maximum in order to keep a friendly atmosphere within the group.
