Mersey River Explorer Cruise from Liverpool

Liverpool, United Kingdom

Hop aboard the world-famous Mersey River Explorer Cruise and see Liverpool's history-rich sights by water! Choose from a standard hop-on hop-off River Mersey cruise or a combination ticket that includes entrance to other Liverpool attractions.

The great-value upgrade options include entrance to Liverpool's interactive Spaceport attraction - or the U-Boat Story, which is home to a real WWII German submarine. For an action-packed day with the whole family, these upgrade options are ideal!

Whether you’re looking for a relaxing way to see Liverpool or you want a full day of family-friendly attractions, the Mersey River Explorer Cruise with optional upgrades is your ticket to Liverpool fun. The standard Mersey River Explorer Cruise lasts a leisurely 50-minutes, with scheduled stops at Seacombe and Birkenhead Woodside ports. Enjoy the cruise as a hop-on hop-off tour to see what interests you most - simply hop off when you want, and re-board the boat when you're ready to continue to the next stop.

While taking in views of Liverpool's riverside architecture and wildlife, you can listen to entertaining audio commentary about the River Mersey's fascinating maritime history. Hear tales of smuggling, music and war - three diverse influences that have touched this friendly city over the years and given it a unique charm.

Make a full day of it by upgrading your hop-on hop-off cruise to include tickets to the Spaceport attraction at Seacombe. This family-friendly exhibition covers the subject of space travel with various themed galleries, interactive exhibits and audio-visual experiences. Highlights include a "Wallace and Gromit in Space" feature - a themed display that showcases the popular main characters from the British animated short films.

Alternatively, you can choose to include entrance to the U-Boat story attraction at Birkenhead Woodside. Featuring a German submarine from WWII, the U-Boat Story offers an insight into life as a submariner during the wartime years.

Purchase entrance to either attraction with your Mersey River Explorer Cruise tickets, or upgrade to the All-Inclusive option, which includes both attractions, for an adventurous day out that the whole family will enjoy!

Fabulous experience to share with my visiting South African friend, on an extremely bracing 2nd January - the Hurricane wind that had been battering the Coastline for days! We sailed graciously up and down the Mersey, great commentary covering past, present and future ventures in this beautiful part of the world, detailing the architecture along the way. Lovely warm ship, clean, spotless restroom, good hot drinks and fresh sandwiches. Staff delightful. Excellent value for money. Would highly recommend. David,Gilli and Pat.xxx

Was a little disappointed, but at least can say we've been on the Ferry, cross the Mersey! You can get off and see other sights and board again, which would make it more interesting. The weather was awful, unfortunately and could see nothing but grey and rain.

Not the best day for sailing July 5th and very windy also school kids allowed to run round the boat unattended teachers took no notice of them

lots of history and great views... only irritant is that half the time is spent in loading/ unloading people on 3 stops.... overall a great trip.

Ferry Across The Mersey sings out on the river explorer cruise. The ferry stops at key points across the Mersey allowing you to embark or disembark visiting the focal areas of the city.

Enjoyed the river cruise, but the intercom system wasn't working properly, so it was difficult to hear the commentary, we were sitting on the inside of the boat near a speaker

We ended up not going because so much of the harbour was clocked up with crains and ways you couldn't go after the thing with and quot; The Giants and quot;, so instead of a relatively short trip and bad directions given we went round one dock after another along with everybody else WHO couldn't find their way either._br/_ As one of our daugther were on chrutches we just couldn't get to the pier in time eventhough we had quite a lot of time in the beginning. At the end we threw the tickets away.

Lovely to do a trip on the Mersey. It was hard to hear the comentary in most places. We had to sit at the back to hear and it was a very cold and windy day as it was in December. Otherwise nice to see parts of Liverpool from the river.

Reasonably priced excursion offering good value for money._br/_ Easy check-in at Albert Dock by friendly helpful staff...then its a 30min sail to the Space Exhibition which is conveniently located by the port, which we all enjoyed then a pleasant sail back to Albert Dock._br/_ The ferry itself is very clean

The ferry trip was very good but we were disappointed on arrival to collect our vouchers that Spaceport was closed for the day and no one knew when it would open again so we could not transfer our tickets to another day.

Tour was excellent approximately 50 minutes stoping at each port. Ideal for the u boat or spaceport. Try and get the 10.00am ferry as the queue for later ferries were very long.

Had a great day, the weather was not too good, so everything undercover. Loved the space museum. Although a lot of school parties there at the time, stopping you to have clear access. On the whole excellent. would do it again. Great value.

Had a very enjoyable trip._br/_ The weather was not very good, windy and raining, but as you were undercover it did not take anything away from the experience.

This was a rip-off on the day we booked. Because there was a festival taking place at a different departure point, we were lucky to find the tour at all. The 45 minute scheduled tour lasted about 15 minutes and showed us nothing of interest.

What a fantstic day we had, really impressed with what the city has done to preserve it's past and embrace modern needs without detracting from the city's cultural feel and so interesting past.

The trip was amazing! Mersey is unbelievable, and the experience was once in a lifetime! :-))) I had two tickets though, but the second one was not used due to illness, is these a refund or part of the amount for the missed opportunities?
